The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out in three action steps: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results show that the Restless Earth program can cultivate students' interest in reading with positive support from the school and the role of teachers who are able to motivate students. The Restless Earth activity is carried out every Wednesday and Thursday for 15 minutes before learning begins. The books used are non-curricular books. Facilities provided by the school include the school library, reading corner, posters, and pictures related to reading activities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that cause difficulties in learning to read for students. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this research consist of sixth grade students and the homeroom teacher of the sixth grade. Data collection methods include interviews, observations, and documentation. The data obtained is then analyzed to determine the internal and external factors that cause difficulties in learning to read for students. The results of the study show that the factors causing difficulties in learning to read for sixth grade students at SDN Karangpawitan III are caused by internal factors (low intelligence, low student learning motivation, low student interest in reading, as well as social and emotional maturity and unstable student adjustment) and external factors (less varied teaching methods by teachers and lack of parental attention to students in the family environment). Therefore, it can be concluded that there are several factors causing difficulties in learning to read for students, namely internal and external factors.

Abstract

The PhET simulation media is very helpful for teachers in delivering various physics concepts through interactive simulations. By displaying various phenomena that cannot be directly observed, it can increase students' interest and curiosity. This research focuses on the use of PhET simulation media in Gombong Sari Elementary School. The study uses a qualitative method, with a target of 20 fourth-grade students as subjects. The 20 students conducted simulations using PhET on the topic of electric circuits in science lessons. The data collected was then analyzed, leading to the conclusion that: 1. Using PhET simulations can help teachers easily explain the topic. 2. PhET simulation media has interesting and enjoyable illustrations and can foster higher learning interest. 3. By using PhET simulations, students will be more active and enthusiastic in learning, as PhET provides unique and interesting elements in the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Ecobrick is one of the creative ways to manage plastic waste and turn it into useful objects, reducing pollution and toxins caused by plastic waste. The function of ecobrick is not to destroy plastic waste, but to extend the life of the plastics and process them into something useful, which can be used for the benefit of people in general. Ecobrick is a waste management technique made from used plastic bottles filled with clean plastic waste until full, then compacted until it becomes hard. After the bottles are full and hard, they can be assembled with glue. These assembled bottles can be turned into tables, simple chairs, building materials for walls, towers, small stages, and even potentially assembled into fences and foundations for simple playgrounds. The utilization of plastic waste at SDN Kondangjaya III is through the making of ecobricks. This activity is due to problems related to plastic waste, such as the abundance of waste in the school environment that has not been utilized, the presence of a specific plastic bottle waste bin in the school environment that is not being utilized, and the lack of understanding and knowledge in waste management to be utilized into something useful. From these various problems, it can be concluded that many elementary school students have not learned to recycle waste. The methods used are observation, demonstration, and direct practice in making ecobricks. The result of this activity is an increase in knowledge and understanding about the utilization of plastic waste and an improvement in the skills and creativity of students in managing plastic waste into useful objects.

Abstract

Environmental education is very important to be learned by the people of Indonesia. From a young age to adulthood, we are always given understanding and literacy by both of our parents. That's why Environmental Education is very important for the people of Indonesia. Understanding and literacy have been learned since we were young until adulthood, one of which is throwing trash in its place. This knowledge can become a habit and will always last long in our minds and hearts. We will always remember that throwing trash in its place is something that must be accustomed for the people of Indonesia. This research will outline the role of a teacher and students in an effort to optimize Environmental Education in elementary schools. All teachers and staff, including the principal of SDN Kutawargi 1, have been using several strategies to optimize facilities and infrastructure at SDN Kutawargi 1. From the research, it is implied that with the lack of facilities and infrastructure in schools, preserving the environment is very important for all students in the school. There is no reason for students not to preserve the school environment or its surroundings. The aim of this research is to find out the extent of the role of a teacher and students in implementing environmental education at SDN Kutawargi 1.

Abstract

Teaching science is very important to be given to all students starting from elementary school. This is aimed at equipping students with logical, analytical, systematic, critical, creative thinking skills, and the ability to work together. The skills obtained from learning science are expected to help in facing the progress of technology, information, and communication in the current era of globalization. The type of research that will be used by the author is a theoretical study of a concept to see something comprehensively, to see the relationships that exist in variables, and then used to explain and predict existing phenomena. It can be concluded that using multimedia in the implementation of learning will be more creative and innovative, allowing students to visualize difficult material with the help of conventional tools, and can train learners or students to be more independent and active in the learning process. Thus, teachers can foster the creativity of students in science learning so that the implementation of online learning processes still makes students active in learning.

Abstract

The ability to solve mathematical problems is the lowest ability in learning Math story problems in grade 5 at one of the public elementary schools in Kotabaru Subdistrict, Karawang Regency. This is the background for the researcher to conduct the study. This study aims to find out the extent of students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in solving addition and subtraction of fractions story problems, as well as the faktors that affect the success or failure of students in this case. This research is a case study with a qualitative method conducted by collecting data through tests and interviews with 5 student subjects. The results show that the average mathematical problem-solving ability of students is 57.6, which can be categorized as sufficient. Faktors affecting students' abilities include internal faktors such as intelligence, interest, talent, attitude, and communication skills, as well as external faktors such as the role of parents and teachers in guiding and teaching students.
