Abstract

This study examines the effect of Sponsors Activation on Customer Engagement Disposition (CED) and Customer Engagement Behavior (CEB) within BRI Super League, and investigates the moderating roles of Attitude Toward the Sponsor and Sponsorship Authenticity. A quantitative survey was conducted (n = 214) and analyzed using SEM-PLS with a higher-order construct approach. Results indicate that Sponsors Activation positively and significantly influences CED (β = 0.399; t = 6.680; p < 0.001) and CEB (β = 0.417; t = 8.356; p < 0.001). CED positively influences CEB (β = 0.269; t = 5.909; p < 0.001). Attitude Toward the Sponsor moderates the Sponsors Activation–CED relationship (β = 0.269; t = 5.679), while Sponsorship Authenticity moderates both the Sponsors Activation–CED (β = 0.340) and Sponsors Activation–CEB (β = 0.432) relationships. CEB is confirmed as a second-order reflective construct reflected by augmenting, co-developing, influencing, and mobilizing behavior. This research contributes to sport sponsorship and customer engagement literature by elucidating the mechanism through which sponsorship activation generates meaningful and sustainable customer engagement.

Abstract

Purpose: This study explores the impact of augmented reality (AR) technology on purchase intention in Indonesia. By integrating the AR experience framework with an extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the research examines how five dimensions of the AR experience—sensory experience (SE), emotional experience (EE), thinking experience (TE), action experience (AE), and related experience (RE)—affect perceived ease of use (PEOU) and perceived usefulness (PU), which subsequently influence purchase intention (PI), with attitudinal ambivalence (AA) as a mediating factor.Method: A quantitative, cross-sectional survey was conducted with 300 Indonesian respondents, aged 18 to 60, who were recent users of the AR Sephora Virtual Artist. Data were collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM).Result: Findings reveal that the dimensions of the AR experience positively impact PEOU and PU, which subsequently negatively influence AA. PU also directly fosters positive PI, while PEOU does not. Importantly, AA negatively affects PI, underscoring its critical role in consumer decision-making.Practical Implications for Economic Growth and Development: This research offers valuable insights for retailers to optimize AR implementation, thereby enhancing consumer engagement and driving purchase intention. Improving AR usability and effectiveness can reduce consumer uncertainty, strengthen market adoption, and advance digital commerce in the beauty industry.Originality/Value: This study integrates AA into existing AR adoption models and combines the AR experience framework with an extended TAM, providing novel theoretical contributions to AR in retail and insights into consumer behavior.

Abstract

Background: Social media has reshaped culinary consumption by influencing how young adults discover and evaluate food products. Viral menus and online recommendations often trigger spontaneous purchasing decisions; however, the role of specific hedonic shopping motivation dimensions in digital culinary consumption remains limited. Objective: This study examines the effects of adventure shopping, value shopping, role shopping, idea shopping, social shopping, and gratification shopping on impulsive buying among young adult consumers influenced by social media culinary content. Methods: A quantitative cross-sectional design was employed using an online questionnaire distributed through purposive sampling. Data were collected from 265 Indonesian consumers aged 26–35 years and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Results: Adventure shopping (β = 0.134; p < 0.05), idea shopping (β = 0.235; p < 0.001), social shopping (β = 0.120; p < 0.05), and gratification shopping (β = 0.435; p < 0.001) positively affected impulsive buying, while value shopping and role shopping were insignificant. The model explained 61.9% of impulsive buying variance (R² = 0.619). Conclusion: The findings highlight that novelty, inspiration, social interaction, and emotional satisfaction are key drivers of impulsive buying. This study provides insights for culinary businesses and social media marketers in developing consumer-oriented strategies.
