Abstract

Many of students require aid in order to expand and enhance their vocabulary. Conventional techniques of teaching vocabulary are sometimes difficult and uninteresting for students. The goal of this study is to evaluate how well project-based learning using a mind-mapping process improves seventh-grade students at SMP Ma'arif Tegalsambi's command of English vocabulary. A pre-experimental methodology was used in this study, with one group pre-test and post-test design. The population in this research was 61 students, while the sample were 30 students from class 7A. the data collection tools were the pre-test and post-test, which comprised 25 valid multiple-choice questions. To verify the hypothesis' accuracy, the researchers utilized SPSS software's paired sample T-test feature. The pre-test mean was 59.73, and the post-test mean was 85.73. Thus, it can be concluded that project-based learning using the mind mapping process can help boost students' excitement, so it can improve seventh-grade students' vocabulary mastery at SMP Ma'arif Tegalsambi.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk membangun kapasitas guru sekolah dasar dalam mengimplementasikan sekolah inklusi yang humanis di Kabupaten Jepara. Mitra pengabdian ini adalah Disdikpora Kabupaten Jepara bidang SD dengan subjek sasaran mitra yaitu guru dari sekolah dasar yang menjadi pilot project sekolah inklusi di Kabupaten Jepara. PKM ini menggunakan metode service learning dengan teknis pelaksanaan meliputi tahap sosialisasi, tahap pelatihan, tahap pendampingan, dan tahap evaluasi. Kegiatan ini bertempat di Aula Disdikpora Kabupaten Jepara. Hasil PKM menunjukkan bahwa mitra memiliki persepsi yang sama tentang sekolah inklusi, memahami materi yang disampaikan meliputi manajemen sekolah inklusi, manajemen kelas inklusi, kurikulum sekolah inklusi, perencanaan pembelajaran individu dan strategi pendampingan bagi siswa berkebutuhan khusus di sekolah dasar inklusi. Selama kegiatan sosialisasi, guru aktif bertanya dan berbagi pertanyaan terkait kondisi siswa di sekolah masing-masing. Pada tahap pelatihan, guru mempraktikkan proses penilaian siswa, membuat rencana pembelajaran individual bagi siswa berkebutuhan khusus di sekolah masing-masing peserta. Selanjutnya tahap pendampingan dilaksanakan dengan mendemonstrasikan beberapa strategi pendampingan yang disesuaikan dengan jenis karakteristik siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Tahap evaluasi dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner melalui google form untuk melihat keberhasilan mitra. Keberhasilan PKM ini berdasarkan hasil kuesioner sebesar 80% sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan dan pendampingan ini sangat bermanfaat bagi mitra dalam menerapkan sekolah inklusi yang humanis. Kegiatan pengabdian ini juga memperkaya wawasan dan pemahaman guru tentang karakteristik anak berkebutuhan khusus sehingga dapat dijadikan modal dalam mendampingi anak mencapai potensi yang optimal.

Abstract

UMKM Batik Tulis Lasem is one of the superior product MSMEs in Rembang Regency. The partners in this service are 2 MSMEs engaged in batik, namely Real Asto Batik and Safila Batik. The problems of both partners are the lack of product innovation and the lack of current marketing techniques. The purpose of this service is to increase partners' knowledge and skills regarding stamped batik techniques and digital marketing. In addition, the purpose of this service is to improve the management and productivity of partners in the lasem batik business. The methods in this service are socialisation, training and mentoring, technology application and evaluation. The results of the service showed that the skills and knowledge of the partners' stamping techniques and digital marketing increased with a percentage of 44% increasing very high, 54% stated high. In addition, the results of the programme evaluation also showed that the performance of the service team was very good. This programme became one of the programmes that had a positive impact on partners in particular, and in general, improving the economy and tourism of Rembang through textile and fashion products.

Abstract

Purpose –This research aims to describe teachers’ perceptions of Madrasah Ramah Anak (MRA), uncover their experiences in applying its principles, and identify challenges and strategies used in the process.Method – A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving 19 active teachers at MTs Tsamrotul Huda, Jepara. Data were collected February-April 2025 through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and open-ended questionnaires. Data analysis followed Miles and Huberman’s framework, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. To ensure accuracy and credibility, the analysis was supported by triangulation techniques. Findings – The study found varied interpretations of MRA among teachers. Around two-thirds of the participants reported consistently applying child-friendly practices through fair, participatory, and nurturing approaches. However, challenges persist, including limited facilities, safety concerns, academic pressure, and inconsistent supervision. Teachers demonstrated strong commitment to creating inclusive classrooms, with 14 out of 19 emphasizing the importance of social-emotional guidance. As one teacher expressed, “Being a child-friendly teacher means listening to students’ feelings before teaching them lessons. Research Implications – The findings underline the importance of continuous training, reflective practice, and collaboration among teachers, students, and parents. This study, however, has some limitations: it was conducted in a single school, relied on self-reported data that may be affected by social desirability bias, and showed inconsistencies between reported student participation and the teacher-focused sample. Future research should involve schools from different regions, include more varied participants, and use longitudinal observation to examine the long-term impact of child-friendly education.

Abstract

Background: A well-grounded and accurate assumption helps in selecting appropriate lexical variations before expressing a statement in communication. Movies serve as an effective medium for this purpose, as they reflect real-life situations. In pragmatics, presuppositions allow listeners to recognize implied meanings and better understand communicative intentions. Aims: This study examines the use of presuppositions in the Zootopia movie script by applying George Yule’s (1996) theory of presupposition. It aims to identify the types of presuppositions expressed in the dialogue, analyze the educational character values demonstrated by the main character, and interpret the meanings conveyed through presuppositions in the movie script. Methods: The study employed a qualitative content analysis design. The data were collected from the dialogues of the main character in the Zootopia movie script. Results: A total of 106 presuppositional instances were identified. Existential and factual presuppositions were the most frequently occurring types. Additionally, five educational character values were found: (1) peacemaker, (2) curiosity, (3) discipline, (4) responsibility, and (5) hard work. Implication: The interpretation of presuppositions allows audiences to gain deeper insights into the underlying meanings of the dialogue. Through movie scripts, viewers can not only engage with the storyline and character development but also grasp the film’s core messages and objectives. Future research should extend beyond presuppositions to explore a broader range of linguistic phenomena.

Abstract

The practice of radicalism in Indonesia has increased among all age groups included adolescents. The study found that adolescents or the young generation are mostly affected by radicalism and extremism. The aim of this study is to find out the implementation of English Self-Assessment Based on Pluralism in Preventing Youth Radicalism. This study uses a descriptive analysis method. The instrument of this study is students’ self-assessment worksheet focused on pluralism materials. Based on the analysis conducted, it can be concluded that by implementing English Self-Assessment rubric, the religious understanding of the students is good criteria.

Abstract

This article examines the level of religious tolerance at Tanjung State Elementary School 2, located in Pakis Sub-district, Jepara Regency. The main focus is on the Clean Friday program as a practice that influences and reflects interfaith coexistence. This study aims to analyze how the implementation of the Clean Friday program plays a role in building religious tolerance in the school environment. The research method used is qualitative using interviews, observation, and document analysis. The main respondents included students, Islamic religious education teachers, and school staff. Data analysis was conducted with a descriptive approach. The results showed that the Clean Friday program has made a positive contribution in improving the understanding and practice of religious tolerance at Tanjung State Elementary School. The program also reflects interfaith coexistence, where students from different religious backgrounds can interact harmoniously during its implementation. This research provides valuable insights into efforts to build religious tolerance at the primary level, focusing on concrete practices such as the Clean Friday program.

Abstract

This study aims to explore in depth the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in shaping the moral character of 11th-grade students at Madrasah Aliyah Masalikil Huda Tahunan Jepara. A qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that PAI teachers play a significant role in the moral development of students, both through formal teaching methods and by modeling appropriate behavior in daily interactions. The teachers utilize various approaches, such as lectures, interactive discussions, habituation of moral values, and the instillation of Islamic ethics into students' lives. The factors supporting the success of this moral education include the strong commitment of the teachers to set a good example, a curriculum integrated with moral values, and effective collaboration between the school and parents in monitoring student progress. However, the study also identifies several significant challenges. These include the limited time available for PAI teachers to fully integrate moral education and the negative influence of social environments and technology, particularly social media, which often contradicts the moral values taught. This challenge complicates the process of moral education outside the school environment, especially as students are increasingly exposed to contradictory values. The theoretical implications of these findings underscore the importance of integrating moral values across all aspects of education in Islamic institutions to develop a generation with strong moral character, capable of addressing the challenges of the digital age.

Abstract

Lingkungan sekolah ramah anah sebagai salah satu upaya untuk menjamin kesejahteraan anak di masa depan. Sehingga implementasinya perlu didukung agar dapat optimal. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam mewujudkan sekolah ramah anah di MIN 1 Jepara. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian adalah EER (empowering, enabling, reflection). dengan 3 tahapan yaitu pertama, tahap empowering yang meliputi sosialisasi dan capacity building mitra tentang esensi sekolah ramah anah dan pemenuhan hak anak. Kedua, tahap enabling meliputi motivasi dan pendampingan guru. Ketiga, tahap reflection meliputi monitoring evaluasi dan refleksi. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan ini mampu memberikan wawasan pemahaman mitra tentang sekolah ramah anah sebesar 91%. Sementara pemahaman mitra terkait proses legalisasi sekolah ramah anah diperoleh hasil 84%. Aspek kebermanfaatan pengabdian ini diperoleh hasil 84% yang berarti guru mampu memahami cara pembuatan perencanaan pembelajaran yang mengakomodir pemenuhan hak anak. Kegiatan pengabdian ini juga dapat memberikan motivasi dan support power bagi guru dalam mewujudkan pembelajaran yang ramah, aman, nyaman tanpa kekerasan dengan persentase 87%. Sehingga ada kontribusi nyata dan positif terkait implementasi program pengbadian ini pada mitra yaitu meningkatnya kompetensi guru dalam mewujudkan sekolah ramah anah.

Abstract

UMKM Batik Tulis Lasem merupakan salah satu usaha yang menjadi unggulan di Kota Lasem, Rembang Jawa Tengah. Mitra pada kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah Safila Batik dan Real Asto Batik yang sudah lebih dari 8 tahun berkecimpung di dunia Batik. Permasalahan utama yang dimiliki oleh mitra adalah belum adanya manajemen keuangan yang terstruktur dan tersistem dengan baik. Mitra masih menggunakan catatan manual dibuku batik untuk pencatatan produk dan transaksi jual beli. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan manajemen keuangan berbasis digital. Sehingga dengan adanya kegiatan ini, mitra dapat mengelola keuangan nya dengan baik, terstruktur, dan akuntabel. Adapun metode yang digunakan meliputi; sosialisasi, pelatihan, penerapan, pendampingan dan evaluasi. Pada serangkaian kegiatan tersebut, mitra selalu terlibat dan ikut berpartisipasi aktif selama kegiatan berlangsung. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini; 1) mitra memahami konsep manajemen keungan berbasis digital; 2) mitra memiliki aplikasi berbasis android dengan nama Kas Digital UMKM; 3) mitra mampu menggunakan aplikasi kas tersebut untuk transaksi penjualan. Evaluasi program menggunakan kuisioner dengan skala likert dari lima komponen, yaitu tampilan visual, menu dan isi aplikasi, kemudahan, kebermanfaatan dan performance. Adapun hasilnya dengan prosentase 75 % menyatakan setuju. Ini menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi Kas UMKM Digital yang diberikan oleh Tim Pengabdi kepada Mitra bermanfaat dan sangat dibutuhkan oleh mitra.
