Abstract

This article aims to photograph the education system at Pondok Pesantren Edi Mancoro from the perspective of Paulo Freire's thought on education as a liberation practice. This article answers the criticism that pesantren is an educational institution that is rigid, restrictive, static, and exclusive. This research uses a qualitative approach and type of field research. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using data presentation, data reduction, and concluding. The result of the research is a new perspective on education as a liberation practice in Pondok Pesantren Edi Mancoro. The research results show that a small part of the pesantren education system represents Paulo Freire's thought on education as a liberation practice. This research can be a reference for developing a more humanist pesantren education system.

Abstract

Mahasiswa sebagai sivitas akademika dituntut untuk memiliki kompetensi publikasi ilmiah, termasuk di dalamnya tentang manajemen referensi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) UIN Salatiga dalam pembuatan sitasi dan publikasi ilmiah melalui kegiatan pelatihan penggunaan Mendeley dan publikasi ilmiah bagi mahasiswa PAI UIN Salatiga. Metode PAR (participatory action research) digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini dengan tujuan mengembangkan keterampilan baru bagi mahasiswa, yaitu kemampuan menggunakan aplikasi Mendeley, serta kemampuan mempublikasikan artikel di jurnal-jurnal ilmiah. Objek dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah mahasiswa PAI UIN Salatiga semester 4 dan 6 yang berjumlah 100 mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi partisipan dimana penulis terlibat langsung dan menjadi objek yang diamati, serta dokumentasi dan wawancara. Prosedur pengabdian dengan metode PAR menggunakan KUPAR (to Know, to Understand, to Plan, to Action dan to Reflection). Kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan dalam empat kali pertemuan. Pertemuan pertama pelatihan pembuatan akun dan install aplikasi mendeley. Pertemuan kedua pelatihan menambahkan dokumen ke aplikasi Mendeley, menghubungkan Mendeley di Ms. Word serta membuat sitasi menggunakan aplikasi Mendeley. Pertemuan ketiga pelatihan melakukan proses registrasi pada jurnal. Pelatihan keempat pelatihan submit jurnal dan mengisi meta data.

Abstract

Religiosity is an important aspect of human life, both for individuals and society, including in the context of education. This study aims to examine the patterns of religiosity among high school students in Salatiga City using a religious index analysis within the context of school education. The main focus of this research is to understand students’ religious understanding and their practice of worship in Salatiga. This study employs a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative (survey) and qualitative (case study) methods. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation. The research was conducted at State Senior High School 1 and Muhammadiyah (Plus) Senior High School in Salatiga, located in the city of Salatiga. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, while qualitative data were analyzed through data condensation, coding, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the students' religiosity index shows significant variation, reflecting diverse levels of religious understanding and worship practices among students. This study provides insight into how school education contributes to shaping students' religiosity patterns. Theoretically, this research contributes to enriching the body of knowledge on religious education in schools.
