Abstract

Alternative crowdfunding has emerged as a vital financing solution for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia, offering funding opportunities beyond traditional financial institutions and fostering economic growth. However, the Indonesian government must address risks such as fraud, personal data misuse, and investor losses by ensuring strong legal protection and regulatory oversight. This study examines the legal framework for equity-based crowdfunding and SME empowerment in Indonesia, drawing comparative insights from Austria’s well-established regulations. The novelty of this research lies in its comparative approach, which highlights regulatory asymmetries affecting investor confidence and SME access to funding. The urgency is underscored by Indonesia’s rapidly expanding digital finance sector, where weak governance could undermine crowdfunding’s potential. This normative legal study employs a descriptive-analytic approach, integrating legislative and conceptual perspectives from both jurisdictions. Findings indicate that Austria enforces investment limits, stringent platform accountability, and robust law enforcement, ensuring market stability while supporting SMEs. Conversely, Indonesia should ease SME access to crowdfunding while implementing investment caps to mitigate investor risks. Moreover, Austria’s strong judicial oversight and auditing mechanisms serve as a model for Indonesia, which requires enhanced regulatory enforcement and institutional capacity. This study contributes to legal scholarship by proposing a balanced regulatory model that fosters SME participation while ensuring investor protection, transparency, and sustainable market growth. By adopting best practices from Austria and Europe, Indonesia can refine its crowdfunding regulations to drive economic development while maintaining a secure financial ecosystem.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic caused turbulence in all sectors, including Islamic Rural Banks. The financial performance of Islamic Rural Banks has come under pressure due to the decline in SMEs financing quality. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the financial performance of Indonesian Islamic rural banks during the Covid-19. This research method uses a descriptive quantitative approach with secondary data in financial statements from 165 Islamic Rural Banks in Indonesia as a population and sample. Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistics to reveal the performance of Islamic Rural Banks during the Covid-19 pandemic for the January-December 2020 period, which includes Productive Asset Quality, Non- Performing Financing, Return on Assets, BOPO, Financing to Deposit Ratio, and Cash Ratio. The findings of this study show that most Islamic rural banks have experienced a decline in financial performance. The implication is that Islamic rural banks must strengthen risk management to deal with the possibility of similar or other pandemics in the future.

Abstract

With a high level of COVID-19 virus spread throughout the world, Indonesia is one of the countries in Southeast Asia affected by the largest transmission chain. This affects various layers of the industry in this country, one of which is financial institutions and the banking system. This paper tries to look at the performance of Islamic banking in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Using the linear regression method, the authors use ROA as the dependent variable. Whereas CAR, NPF, FDR, and BOPO as independent variables. The results show that CAR and BOPO have significant results while the rest do not show satisfactory results. It can be concluded that during the pandemic, Islamic banking experienced a pretty good and convincing performance.

Abstract

Categorical data clustering is difficult because categorical data lacks natural order and can comprise groups of data only related to specific dimensions. Conventional clustering, such as k-means, cannot be openly used to categorical data. Numerous categorical data using clustering algorithms, for instance, fuzzy k-modes and their enhancements, have been developed to overcome this issue. However, these approaches continue to create clusters with low Purity and weak intra-similarity. Furthermore, transforming category attributes to binary values might be computationally costly. This research provides categorical data with fuzzy clustering technique due to soft set theory and multinomial distribution. The experiment showed that the approach proposed signifies better performance in purity, rank index, and response times by up to 97.53%. There are many algorithms that can be used to solve the challenge of grouping fuzzy-based categorical data. However, these techniques do not always result in improved cluster purity or faster reaction times. As a solution, it is suggested to use hard categorical data clustering through multinomial distribution. This involves producing a multi-soft set by using a rotated based soft set, and then clustering the data using a multivariate multinomial distribution. The comparison of this innovative technique with the established baseline algorithms demonstrates that the suggested approach excels in terms of purity, rank index, and response times, achieving improvements of up to ninety-seven-point fifty three percent compared to existing methods.

Abstract

The increasing demand for housing financing based on Islamic principles has positioned Islamic Home Financing (IHF) as one of the fastest-growing products within the Islamic banking industry. This phenomenon has triggered a range of academic studies exploring aspects such as financing contracts, consumer behaviour, affordability, and regulatory frameworks. However, these studies remain fragmented, lacking a comprehensive overview of the knowledge structure and research trajectory within the field. This study aims to map the scholarly landscape of IHF through a bibliometric analysis focusing on three main dimensions: co-authorship, co-occurrence, and co-citation. Based on 54 Scopus-indexed documents published between 2000 and 2025, the data were analyzed using VOSviewer. The findings indicate that collaboration networks are dominated by Hanudin Amin from Malaysian institutions, with emerging cross-country and cross-disciplinary partnerships that include sustainability issues. Keyword analysis highlights "Islamic home financing" as a central term, closely associated with the integration of social and commercial finance, consumer behaviour theory (TPB), and environmental concerns. Co-citation analysis reveals a heavy reliance on conventional literature, with classical theories such as TRA and TPB serving as foundational references. The limited research on risk-related issues suggests a significant research gap. This study contributes to the development of a more integrative theoretical foundation for academics and provides practical insights for Islamic banks in designing competitive, sustainable, and globally responsive IHF products.
