Abstract

This research explores the integration of ethnoscience within the traditional batik-making process in Sidoarjo as a contextual learning resource for elementary school students. The study aims to identify scientific concepts embedded in local cultural practices and analyze their relevance to the IPAS (Integrated Science and Social Studies) curriculum. Using a qualitative ethnographic method, data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation at Batik Tulis Al-Huda in Sidoarjo. Findings reveal that each stage of the batik process—from molani (sketching motifs), malemi (applying wax), nyolet (coloring), to nglorod (wax removal)—reflects basic scientific principles such as heat transfer, changes in states of matter, diffusion, and evaporation. These concepts align with key IPAS learning objectives at the elementary level. The study highlights how incorporating local wisdom into science education can foster scientific literacy, cultural identity, and contextual understanding among students. The research contributes to the development of culturally responsive teaching strategies and supports the Merdeka Belajar (Freedom to Learn) curriculum by linking classroom content to students’ cultural environment. It is recommended that future studies expand to other regions and examine how ethnoscience-based resources impact student learning outcomes. This study includes 25 references, 7 observation photos, and qualitative analysis tables to support the findings.

Abstract

The low nutritional status of pregnant women during pregnancy can have various adverse impacts on pregnant women and babies, one of which is babies with low birth weight (LBW). LBW babies have a 10-20 times greater chance of dying than babies born with sufficient weight. This study aims to describe the nutritional status of pregnant women who lack chronic energy with the incidence of low birth weight at Puskesmas Palibelo. This research is a descriptive study using secondary data. The sample was pregnant women from the first trimester to the third trimester in the Palibelo Community Health Center from January to September 2020 with a total of 50 respondents. Data collection with medical data records. The results of data analysis: a. Age category: respondents aged 20-35 years with the highest nutritional status of  chronic lack of energy as much as 62.0% and with LBW as much as 14.0%. B. Education category: respondents whose chronic lack of energy is based on the highest education are those with high school education as much as 68.0%, 18.0% with low birth weight. C. Economic status category: respondents whose chronic lack of energy is based on the highest economic status are respondents with moderate economic status as much as 70.0%, 12.0% who experience LBW. The results of this study indicate that age, education and good and mature economic status do not provide a definite possibility that a pregnant woman will avoid chronic lack of energy and the incidence of LBW.Keywords : Pregnant Women, Chronic Lack of Energy, Low Birth Weight

Abstract

This study explores the integration of mathematical concepts within the traditional batik motifs of Sidoarjo, Indonesia, through a qualitative ethnographic approach. Focusing on three selected motifs—Beras Wutah, Kembang Tebu, and Udang Bandeng—the research aims to identify and describe inherent mathematical elements such as symmetry, geometry, patterns, and proportional reasoning embedded in the design and production process. Data were collected through direct observation, semi-structured interviews with local batik artisan Ir. Nurul Huda, and documentation analysis at the Batik Tulis Al-Huda Gallery in Sidokare, Sidoarjo. The data were analyzed using Spradley’s ethnographic method, which includes domain, taxonomic, and componential analysis. Findings reveal that Sidoarjo batik motifs are rich in mathematical structures. The Beras Wutah motif displays tessellation and reflective symmetry; Kembang Tebu illustrates rotational symmetry and repetitive geometric patterns; while the Udang Bandeng motif incorporates proportional scaling and spatial reasoning. These mathematical ideas, though traditionally unformalized, demonstrate deep-rooted local knowledge that aligns with formal mathematical principles. The integration of ethnomathematical perspectives into classroom instruction has the potential to contextualize learning, enhance students’ engagement, and foster cultural appreciation. This study concludes that batik, as a cultural artifact, holds significant educational value in mathematics education. Incorporating local cultural resources like batik into curriculum design not only supports culturally responsive teaching but also bridges abstract mathematical concepts with tangible real-world experiences. The findings advocate for the inclusion of ethnomathematics in primary education as a strategy to make mathematics more accessible, meaningful, and inclusive for diverse learners.

Abstract

This study is to investigate the impact of Technofinance Literacy, Financial Support, and the Use of Bookkeeping Applications on the Financial Behaviour of Generation Z in West Nusa Tenggara. Data were gathered using a quantitative methodology employing Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM), with questionnaires administered to 246 eligible respondents. The analysis indicates that all three independent variables exert a positive and significant impact on financial behaviour. Financial support has the most significant influence, suggesting that persons who have financial assistance or supervision are more likely to exhibit responsible and organised financial behaviours. Technofinance literacy plays a crucial role, emphasising the necessity of comprehending and employing financial technologies for personal financial management. Moreover, the use of bookkeeping software, albeit with a diminished effect size, continues to significantly influence the development of disciplined financial habits. The findings indicate that integrating external assistance, technology literacy, and digital tools can significantly improve financial behaviour and should be incorporated into the development of educational or policy initiatives aimed at enhancing financial well-being among younger demographics.

Abstract

Sacha inchi (Plukenetia volubilis L.) is one of the underutilized crops that has been adopted as a food source due to its high nutritional value, which is gradually being recognized as having potential benefits for human health. An initial obstacle to the cultivation of this commodity is seed dormancy, which requires a solution. The objectives of this study are 1) to determine the first count and final count in testing the germination capacity of seeds and suitable germination media. A completely randomized design (CRD) factorial was selected for this study. Factor 1 was P1 (ordinary water), P2 (water at 50 °C), P3 (water at 80 °C), and factor. 2 was M1 = soil:compost (2:1), M2 = soil: Sand (2:1), M3 = Soil:Sand:Compost (2:1:1). Each combination was repeated three times, with each combination consisting of 4 polybags, totaling have 135 polybags. Data were analyzed using F-tests with analysis of variance (ANOVA). If a significant effect was observed, a BNT test (5%) was conducted. Based on the research conducted, there was no significant interaction effect between seed soaking techniques and planting medium composition on germination observation. Breaking dormancy using different water immersion temperatures affects plant height at 21 days after sowing (DAS) and the number of leaves at 7 DAS. 3. Growing medium treatment has a significant effect on the number of leaves, and the M3 medium (soil : sand : compost) shows a significantly better effect compared to the l treatment.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the waste management process and green accounting process applied in hospitals. This research was conducted at the Patut Patuh Patju (Tripat) Regional General Hospital, West Lombok. The method used is a qualitative approach. Data analysis was carried out based on information about environmental costs and identifying environmental costs at Tripat District Hospital. The research results show that Tripat Hospital carries out waste management with good environmental quality tests because there are no external failure costs incurred. Apart from that, Tripat Regional Hospital has not implemented green accounting because there is no specific environmental cost report. Researchers use Hansen and Mowen's environmental cost theory to identify and propose environmental cost reports.

Abstract

This study aims to demonstrate the impact of regulations, audit delay, audit fees, and firm size on auditor switching. The subjects of this observation are transportation and logistics entities listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2018-2022. The sampling method used is purposive sampling, resulting in 55 observation samples. The analysis in this study employs logistic regression analysis. The tool used is Eviews version 13. The results of the study prove that the variables of regulation, audit delay, audit fees, and firm size do not influence auditor turnover individually. However, when tested together, these variables collectively influence auditor turnover with a percentage of 31.6%, while the remaining 68.4% is explained by variables other than those observed.
