Abstract

Abstract Learning media has a very important function in the learning process. The large number of students who lack interest in learning is influenced by the lack of use of teaching media by teachers, so that students are getting bored with the use of media that is less varied. Based on this view, this study focused on examining the effectiveness of augmented reality-based arthropod book in terms of students’ biology learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the biology learning outcomes of students using augmented reality-based Arthropoda book, as well as to determine the effectiveness of the book. This type of research is a field research, in which a research that goes directly to the field. In addition, data were obtained in quantitative methods with the type of pre-experimental design and the One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The results of this study indicate that biology learning process using augmented reality-based Arthropoda book is more effective, which can be seen from the learning outcomes of students increased however the difference is not significant, because the N-Gain Score for pretest and posttest scores reached in the moderate or quite effective category.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Candlenut plants also known as keminting have various benefits for the Banjar community, especially in the fields of health, economy, and culture. However, its use in the perspective of ethnobotany based on local wisdom has not been widely studied, especially in the pharmacological aspect. This study aims to analyze the use of candlenut plants as natural medicine in Banyu Irang Village, South Kalimantan. The research method was snowball sampling with data collection techniques through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Ethnopharmacologically, various parts of the candlenut plant, such as roots, stems, leaves, and seeds, have long been used in traditional medicine. Candlenut oil is used for hair care and skin health, while the boiled water of the leaves is used to improve digestion and help the body's detoxification process. Local communities still maintain this practice for generations as part of their cultural heritage. In addition to its health benefits, candlenut also has economic potential as a raw material for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and herbal industries. However, its utilization and on-site management are still limited, so efforts are needed to improve cultivation and crop processing innovations to optimize its economic benefits. The results of this study are expected to support efforts to conserve candlenut plants while maintaining the local wisdom values of the Banyu Irang Village community. In addition, further studies on the ethnobotanical aspects and potential commercialisation of candlenut can provide knowledge of its use in people's lives in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

A virtual laboratory is a simulation space that can be used in the teaching and learning process in a virtual environment. In this virtual space, the learning process allows for interaction and collaboration within groups. The advancement of the era in Society 5.0 has brought about differentiated learning models that adjust to students' characteristics. Furthermore, the development of innovative learning methods has become more modified. This innovation should be based on an analysis of the needs for learning creativity, one of which is the innovation of learning using a virtual laboratory. The learning process in the laboratory requires activities such as observing, investigating, and interpreting data. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using interviews, questionnaires, literature studies, and observations. The research data indicate that the virtual laboratory has met the urgency points to be developed as a learning medium at various educational levels, both offline and online. In accordance with the needs of the Society 5.0 era, the MBKM policy, as well as the teaching implementation standards at UIN Antasari Banjarmasin, the virtual laboratory has proven to be necessary and capable of serving as an implementation space. A key consideration in using the virtual laboratory is the management of the virtual laboratory, which can be regulated in academic policy documents ranging from guidelines, procedures, to forms and virtual laboratory modules.
