Abstract

Disability is a physical or mental condition that limits a person's ability to fully participate in daily activities. Disabilities can occur to anyone and may be temporary or permanent. Examples of physical disabilities include vision loss, deafness, or mobility limitations, while examples of mental disabilities include autism spectrum disorders, anxiety disorders, or depression. People with disabilities often require environmental adjustments and community support to participate fully in daily life. This study focuses on individuals with leg disabilities, and one of the tools used by those with such disabilities is the wheelchair. There have been numerous studies on wheelchairs for individuals with leg impairments. In this research, the wheelchair is controlled using voice commands, which include forward, backward, left, right, and stop commands. To implement the wheelchair control, an Arduino Uno is used to process voice commands from the user, which are converted into text on an Android device. The text is then sent via Bluetooth and received by the Arduino Uno through serial communication. The control from Android to Arduino Uno is conducted in real-time, allowing the wheelchair to move according to the commands given. The result of this research shows that wheelchair control using voice commands was 100% successful

Abstract

Lack of physical activity has a negative impact, namely reduced motor coordination abilities and changes in posture or shape of the spine. Sitting positions that are more static and less ergonomic, such as sitting in a hunched position, can trigger significant muscle activation. Therefore, in an effort to prevent bone abnormalities, research was carried out regarding a prototype body posture alarm based on the NodeMCU ESP8266. This prototype uses a flexible sensor to read spinal curvature integrated into the NodeMCU ESP8266 and a buzzer as the output. This prototype will be attached to the back support shoulder, so this prototype design can also help repair bones that have been damaged due to bad sitting habits. In general, this prototype reminds users to always be in a normal body position by making a sound when the body position is not normal. From the test results, the prototype works well. NodeMCu's speed in capturing WiFi signals is fast enough so that the prototype works quickly, flexible sensor readings are accurate without using an amplifier. The back support shoulder design is very efficient in helping users to maintain a normal body position.

Abstract

In modern times like this, many wheelchairs have been developed with various controls, ranging from manual ones, namely by being pushed by other people or using their hands to turn the wheel, to automatic ones, such as electric wheelchairs that use joysticks and Electromyography control. The control of the electromyography signal utilizes muscles that can still be used to move the wheelchair, in this case, using the hand muscles. The use of a Bluetooth wireless system in sending electromyography signals aims to facilitate the use of a wheelchair without interference from the many connected cables so that users are more flexible in placing the electromyography sensor on the user's hand muscles. By placing the electromyography sensor on the user's arm, the electromyography sensor detects a contraction or relaxation, which is indicated by the LED flame. The output value of the sensor will be compared with a predetermined limit value. When the value is greater than the limit value, it will produce a logic low; when the value is less than the limit value, it will build a logic high. The Arduino microcontroller will calculate every low logic. The results of these calculations will be processed into serial data. The serial data will be sent to the HC-05 enslaved person via the HC-05 master wirelessly. The motor driver will execute the data so that it produces motion forward, backward, turn right, turn left and stop. It is hoped that this tool can help individuals with limited movement so that they do not have difficulty in mobility.

Abstract

The braking system for motor vehicles is very important which serves to slow down speed. So that the braking system is one that must be considered for driving safety. There are two types of braking systems on motorcycles based on the mechanism, namely braking using discs and drums. One of the causes of road accidents is because the brakes overheat so that failure of the braking system results in brake failure. Therefore, this research is about the design of temperature and speed monitoring on motorcycle brake discs based on google sheets. Which uses MLX90614 sensor as a temperature sensor and E18-D80NK sensor as a speed sensor and NodeMCU ESP8266 as a microcontroller. Both sensors are programmed to provide information so that the brake temperature does not overheat and turn on the buzzer when the temperature and speed reach / exceed predetermined values. The buzzer will turn on when the temperature on the disc brakes reaches ?65°C and when the speed reaches 120rpm.

Abstract

In the process period after the rice is harvested, the rice is then separated from the stalk and referred to as grain which will then be dried. The dried grain aims to reduce the water content, in measuring the water content of the grain, an effective and efficient measurement and database storage tool is needed for users to find out which grain is suitable for processing and can determine the quality of the water content of the grain. The method used in this research uses the RnD (Research And Development) method. In this test using capacitive soil moisture sensor and using database storage in the form of google spreadsheet. The capacitive soil moisture sensor is also calibrated with conventional measuring instruments (Grain Moisture Meter) to find out whether the sensor works properly and accurately. The results in this test found that all components are able to work properly and show an error value <1, the sample reading data will be sent to the database on google spreadsheet so that users can find out the data records in real time and detail.

Abstract

Currently, the industrial world cannot be separated from plastic waste, one of which is sheet plastic waste, where this type of waste is very difficult to decompose in the soil, so it is necessary to recycle plastic waste by crushing it and then melting it in processing media such as plastic injection machine. Sheet plastic is usually processed through a shredding or crushing process using a plastic cutting machine. Most of the shredding machines in the industrial world still add plastic waste manually, with the shredding machine components still using a single motor which is used to drive the plastic shredding machine. To solve the above problem by adding several components to the plastic waste shredding machine so that it can be operated automatically using an Omron CP1E PLC, adding a blower motor and a traction motor that uses an inverter or PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) which functions to pull the remaining sheets. The plastic is then shredded by a grinder motor and the shredded results are moved by a blower motor to a special waste bin. This research applies research and development methods with a focus on designing a plastic chopping machine that operates automatically with a continuous system, based on a PLC using CX-One software. This research proves that automatic plastic shredding machines can increase efficiency, work safety and reduce production costs.
