Abstract

In industrial settings, ensuring adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) regulations continues to be a crucial challenge. The creation of a WebSocket-based smart surveillance camera system for the real-time identification and reduction of PPE infractions is discussed in the paper. The proposed system includes an ESP32-S3 microcontroller accompanied by an OV5640 camera module, acting as an edge-processing embedded platform. The Edge Impulse machine learning framework was used to train image classification and detection models, enabling efficient low-latency inference directly on the device. A websocket enabled web server streams video frames in real time for constant monitoring, with instant display using regular browsers without wasting bandwidth. Experimental results demonstrate that even with limited computational resources, the system is able to perform on-device inference with very high responsiveness and good detection accuracy. This technology provides a scalable and affordable way to enhance OHS compliance monitoring in industry, reduce reliance on manual supervision, and encourage proactive risk mitigation methodologies.

Abstract

The braking system is one of the main components in a vehicle that plays an important role in driving safety. This research aims to design and develop an electromagnetic field-based brake system as an alternative to conventional brake systems. The system utilises the magnetic field generated by the solenoid to create braking force through the principle of electromagnetic induction. Simulation results show that the system is able to generate optimal braking force with faster response and higher energy efficiency. Prototypes tested on small-scale vehicles show improved braking performance with reduced braking distance compared to conventional brake systems. In addition, the system successfully reduced mechanical component wear and demonstrated good reliability under various conditions, including wet road surfaces. However, the research also found challenges in the form of relatively high energy consumption and the need for more heat-resistant conductive materials. In conclusion, electromagnetic brake systems have great potential to improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of transport in the future. Recommendations for further research include optimising energy consumption, developing new materials, and testing on commercial-scale vehicles to ensure feasibility of implementationKeywords: Electromagnetic, Braking, Vehicle, Magnetic Field, Conventional Braking

Abstract

The introduction of a healthy way of life must be done early, and can be started from family and school life. Health care for school-age children can be done through Usaha Kesehatan Sekolah (UKS). The UKS program can be used for coaching in the health sector that requires training of little doctors. The purpose of this activity is to provide training on basic medical materials to improve healthy and healthy living skills, the health status of students, and create a healthy environment so as to increase optimal growth and development. Obtained from the results of this training a positive influence on improving the ability of little doctors. Providing little doctor training provides learning that results in changes from the beginning. This activity involved 42 little doctors from two elementary schools in Sidoarjo. The level of understanding was good, the little doctors rose from (10 students) 23,8% to 69,1% (29 students), quite good understanding from 47,6% (20 students) to 21,4% (9 students), and of the 28,6% (12 students) it dropped to 9,5% (4 students) after receiving a small doctor training.

Abstract

Prolonged labor is potentially dangerous for the mother and fetus. This can be prevented by stimulating the release of the hormone oxytocin to increase uterine contractions so that prolonged labor does not occur. So a tool is needed to stimulate the hormone oxytocin which is made as comfortable as possible. Apart from helping speed up the process of the first stage of labor, this tool can also stimulate the release of the hormone prolactin to help milk production. This system was designed using the Arduino Uno microcontroller type ESP8266, working to stimulate the nipples through vibration. From the results of this study it was found that the vibrations produced could help stimulate the release of the hormone oxytocin so that the first stage of labor took place 72.40% faster than the old theory of the first stage of labour. Highlights: Prolonged labor risks: Emphasizes the potential danger for both mother and fetus in cases of prolonged labor. Oxytocin stimulation: Highlights the importance of stimulating oxytocin release to prevent prolonged labor and promote uterine contractions. Arduino Uno and nipple vibration: Introduces the specific tool designed using Arduino Uno microcontroller and nipple vibration for oxytocin stimulation during labor. Keywords: prolonged labor, oxytocin stimulation, Arduino Uno, nipple vibration, faster labor

Abstract

This study explores the use of IoT technology to enhance communication between Android smartphones and sumo robots, aiming to overcome the limited range of Bluetooth connections. By utilizing the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller, the researchers achieved a connection speed of 4.6 seconds. Furthermore, the step-down circuit test with a 5Vdc power supply and the LiPo 3-cell battery test with a 12.54Vdc power supply yielded positive results. The Bts7960 driver was also successfully tested for clockwise and counterclockwise rotation. Finally, the maneuver test using the Blynk software showcased the robot's ability to respond to four commands—forward, backward, turn left, and turn right—via the IoT system. Highlights: Enhanced communication: Utilizing IoT technology enables improved communication between Android smartphones and sumo robots, expanding the range beyond the limitations of Bluetooth. Efficient connection: The implementation of the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller achieves a speedy connection with a response time of 4.6 seconds, facilitating seamless remote control of the robot. Versatile maneuverability: With the Blynk software and IoT system, the sumo robot can execute four essential commands—forward, backward, turn left, and turn right—providing flexibility and control during operation Keywords: Sumo robot, IoT communication, Android smartphones, NodeMCU ESP8266, Blynk software.
