Abstract

This program aims to strengthen the role of students as peer educators and to develop digital campaigns supporting the implementation of SFA within schools and at home. The activities began with initial coordination and a needs assessment conducted in collaboration with the principal and supervising teachers to map students’ readiness and interests. Based on the selection results, fifteen students were chosen as SFA Ambassadors. The subsequent stages included peer educator training, followed by the production of educational digital content, in which students created digital comics using the Canva application. The comics featured themes such as the dangers of smoking, peer influence, the benefits of healthy living, and the importance of SFA implementation in schools. These were then disseminated through digital campaigns and peer education activities. The program concluded with monitoring and evaluation, including surveys of students and parents, analysis of digital engagement, and reflections from the peer educators. The results of this community service activity successfully achieved its primary objectives, namely enhancing students’ capacity and role as agents of change in creating a smoke-free school environment. Through training, mentoring, and digital campaigns, students demonstrated improved understanding of the dangers of smoking, awareness of the importance of smoke-free policies, and developed communication and creative skills in delivering health messages to their peers and the surrounding community

Abstract

Household organic waste, especially food and fruit scraps, often becomes the main source of garbage piles that cause odors, environmental pollution, and methane gas emissions if not managed properly. This problem is still common in Tobimeita Village, Motui District, North Konawe Regency. This study aims to empower the community in managing household organic waste through the simple technology of LOSIDA (Lodong Sisa Dapur). The method used is descriptive qualitative through observation, interviews, and direct practice of making and installing losida with the community. The results of the study indicate that the application of losida is effective in reducing the volume of organic waste, producing compost and liquid fertilizer, and increasing public awareness of environmental cleanliness. In addition, losida has proven to be practical to implement, environmentally friendly, and able to provide economic and ecological benefits. Therefore, the application of losida can be an alternative solution in managing household organic waste that is simple but has a significant impact on the community.

Abstract

This empowerment program aims to strengthen the capacities of coastal women in Bungkutoko Subdistrict through the development of innovative fish-based products using local potential. The situational analysis indicated limited diversification of processed fish products, low digital marketing skills, and weak household economic resilience. The program addressed these needs through training on processing fish into Abon WaPesisir with various flavors, nutrition education, the use of appropriate technology (fish floss mixer, vacuum sealer, standing pouches), preparation of production SOPs, branding enhancement, and digital marketing training using social media and online marketplaces. In addition, the activities integrated the strengthening of women's roles through mentoring, group learning, and entrepreneurial soft‑skills development. The results showed increases in participants' knowledge, production skills, food hygiene practices, and digital marketing capabilities. The group succeeded in producing more than 50 packages of ready‑to‑sell fish floss with more consistent quality, modern packaging design, and the “Abon WaPesisir” brand. Participants were also able to create promotional content, manage social media accounts, and begin expanding their marketing networks. Overall, the program had positive impacts, including enhanced self‑confidence, strengthened business capacity, and greater opportunities to improve household income among coastal families.
