Abstract

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) is a non-pharmacological therapy method used to reduce pain, including in burn patients. Burns cause complex pain, both acute and chronic, thus requiring multidisciplinary management. This study is a literature review aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) in reducing pain in burn patients. Data were collected from 10 scientific articles published within the last ten years, including clinical studies, pilot studies, and meta-analyses. The review findings indicate that Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) is effective in reducing pain intensity, accelerating wound healing, improving sleep quality, and decreasing the need for pharmacological analgesics. Additionally, the use of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) has been reported as safe and does not cause significant side effects. However, most of the analyzed studies still have limitations, such as small sample sizes and short intervention durations. Therefore, further research with stronger experimental designs is needed to strengthen clinical evidence and support the implementation of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) as part of pain management in burn patients.

Abstract

During the operation of hospitals, various types of waste are generated in the form of liquid, solid, and gaseous substances. Medical waste must be handled correctly and safely to ensure the health and safety of staff and other people in the hospital environment. The management of hospital waste, especially the sorting of medical waste, must have the consistent goal of protecting the population from environmental pollution threats caused by hospitals. Medical waste sorting requires advanced knowledge and attitude of nurses, the purpose of this study is to find out the knowledge of nurses about medical waste sorting and the attitude of nurses about medical waste sorting. The management of medical waste must be handled appropriately and safely to ensure the safety of health professionals and workers and others in the hospital environment. This study showed that 71 respondents with high knowledge sorted medical waste well and 49 (69%) had a good nursing attitude, 47 (66.2%) respondents sorted medical waste well. The analysis showed that a p-value of 0.01 was obtained for the relationship between medical waste sorting knowledge and nurses' attitudes towards medical waste sorting. Most of the nurses had high knowledge and good attitudes about medical waste management. In addition, it was necessary to increase the socialization of dangerous and toxic waste (B3) carried out by the hospital to improve the knowledge and attitudes of nurses in the sorting of medical waste.

Public understanding in Indonesia about the benefits of MCH books is still low, so there is a lack of knowledge among mothers to recognize the signs and dangers of pregnancy due to low resources resulting in bleeding, malnutrition, hypertension, infection, rupture of membranes, lack of fetal movement and other complications suffered by mothers before pregnancy. Abstract

Critical thinking in the concept of nursing philosophy in nursing is complex and is explained by various different definitions. These various definitions have caused confusion about what is meant by understanding the concept or model of nursing. Many literature reviews have examined nursing model theories and related definitions and measurements, but none offer a new perspective to view the same conclusion. The researcher looked at the use of the drilling method drill method to improve students' knowledge in the course of nursing philosophy and theoriesin. The research design used a pre-test and post-test without a control group, which is a design that treats one group without a comparison group. Respondents numbered 120 students who were members of the nursing theory class which were then divided into 4 large groups. The effectiveness of the treatment was assessed by comparing the post-test and pre-test scores. During this study, respondents will be given 6 learning sessions divided into 12 face-to-face meetings related to nursing theory, namely the theories of Florence Nightingale, Jean Orlando, Martha E Roger, and Watson. The results of the statistical test using the Wilcoxon test obtained a p value = 0.001, there was a significant difference in knowledge between before and after being given the Drilling Method. The knowledge of respondents after being given the Drilling Method showed a significant increase, so it is important to continue using the Drilling Method to improve knowledge and competence. The Drilling Method is an effective learning method to improve competence in the cognitive aspect. In the future, this method is expected to be applied in the learning process to improve the competence of nursing students in other courses.
