Abstract

Teachers from SMKK BPK Penabur Bandarlampung have challenges in teaching new students during the Covid-19 pandemic (grade X). They expressed difficulty in recognizing students' learning styles to be able to provide effective learning for students. This PkM activity aims to assess learning styles, student aspirations and conduct webinar activities in an effort to recognize self-concept, career development and learning styles to students and teachers. Before the webinar was held, the PkM team provided a questionnaire that had to be filled out by class X students and the results of the entries were analyzed by a psychologist. Based on the entries related to learning styles, it was found that 66% of 65 class X students have a major learning style with 56% having an auditory learning style. In the minor learning style, most students (50%) of class X have a visual learning style. Based on the entries related to dreams, it was found that 38.4% of students wanted to become entrepreneurs. The webinar activity went well with a total of 199 participants consisting of teachers and students, 60.4% of participants were female. Evaluation assessment from participants (72.4%) strongly agreed that the activity was very useful. The webinar activity focused on discussing the results of the questionnaire that had been filled out by class X. Other participants from classes XI and XII wanted to be able to find out learning styles so that this was made into a follow-up plan.

Abstract

Assessment of Guidance and Counseling Program Using CIPP and Kirkpatrick Frameworks: A Case Study at SMTK Pekanbaru. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the comprehensive Guidance and Counseling (GC) program using the CIPP evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, Product), combined with the Kirkpatrick evaluation model (Reaction & Outcomes).  Method: Data validation was conducted using source triangulation and technique triangulation. The data analysis techniques included data collection, data presentation, data reduction, and conclusion drawing. The evaluation results indicated that, the program was designed to meet the needs of students. The research subjects included the principal, the deputy principal for student affairs, GC teachers, dormitory supervisors, parents, and students. The study was conducted at SMTK Pekanbaru. Findings: The findings indicate that the comprehensive GC program is quite effective but requires improvement in several areas, particularly in relation to the actual conditions of students as well as available resources and infrastructure. Conclusion: This program is designed to meet the needs of students. However, improvements in resources and implementation are necessary. Nevertheless, the program has a positive impact, as 87% of students reported satisfaction, and 74% indicated an increase in self-awareness, skills, and academic performance. Keywords: program evaluation, CIPP, kirkpatrick, comprehensive guidance and counseling.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i3.2024123

Abstract

Structure and written expressions are among the TOEFL ITP tests containing 40 questions. The relatively short processing time and the number of questions that are not small require students to do this test quickly and thoroughly. There need to be special tips and intensive training for students to conquer the structure and written expressions test. This activity aims to share the strategy for working on the TOEFL structure test, with the target of student activities at SMAS Tunas Bangsa Bintan. This activity was held online via the Zoom application and was divided into two meetings with a duration of 90 minutes for each meeting. The material for this activity was prepared based on the pre-test results, which were carried out a few weeks before the activity. The methods used in conveying the material are lectures, exercises, and questions and answers. The data for this activity were collected through questionnaires and documentation. Overall, this activity took place conducive, and students felt helped by it. In addition, from the results of the post-test, it appears that there was an increase in scores after students participated in this activity.
