Abstract

Pemanfaatan lahan gambut untuk menanam bawang merah menghadapi masalah diantaranya kelangkaan pupuk dan pestisida sintetis. Salah satu solusi yang ditawarkan adalah konsep eco farming yang dilakukan dengan cara demplot. Demplot berupa teknologi pembuatan & pemanfaatan eco enzyme, Mikoorganisme lokal (MOL), pupuk organik plus, dan pestisida nabati. Semua komponen teknologi yang disampaikan mendapatkan respon positif dari peserta dan dengan demplot ini penyebarluasan informasi dan teknologi lebih efektif diterima masyarakat.

Abstract

Corn can be used for direct consumption, as a raw material for the food, food and bioenergy industries. As an animal feed ingredient, corn kernels that have been shelled and dried will be used to feed livestock such as chickens and ducks. However, there has been a decline in corn productivity, one of which is due to attacks by Plant Pest Organisms (OPT) in the form of pests both in the field and in storage. This research aims to determine the types of post-harvest pests of feed corn in the PT Arutmin Site Satui. This research uses a purposive sampling method. The identification results showed that there were 2 species of post-harvest pests that attacked the feed corn shells, Tribolium castaneum as many as 167 individuals and Doloessa viridis as many as 1611 individuals.

Abstract

 Sporodptera frugiperda adalah hama yang menyerang tanaman jagung manis (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) penyebab rendahnya produksi jagung di Indonesia. Pengendalian yang ramah lingkungan dengan memanfaatkan senyawa metabolit sekunder pada tumbuhan rawa berupa galam. Tumbuhan galam mengandung senyawa toksik berupa polifenol, flavonoid, dan terpenoid. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui potensi daun galam sebagai pestisida alami untuk S. frugiperda. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan November-Juli 2024 di Desa Bentok Darat, Kecamatan Bati-Bati, Kabupaten Tanah Laut. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 2 kontrol, yaitu G1 = Larutan daun galam 4%; G2 = Larutan daun galam 8%; G3 = Larutan daun galam 12%, G4 = Larutan daun galam 16%; K0 = Kontrol air dan; KS2= Konsentrasi lamda sihalotrin 1 ml/L yang diulang sebanyak 4 kali sehingga terdapat 24 unit percobaan. Pengamatan dilakukan 7 hari sekali untuk melihat pengaruh larutan daun galam terhadap kejadian serangan, intensitas serangan dan kerusakan tongkol jagung. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa larutan daun galam dengan konsentrasi 4%, 8%, 12%, dan 16% berpengaruh dalam menekan kejadian serangan, intensitas serangan dan kerusakan tongkol. Konsentrasi larutan 16% terbukti efektif menekan kejadian serangan sebesar (13,02%), intensitas serangan sebesar (1,36%) dan kerusakan tongkol (25%).

Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan solusi ramah lingkungan dalam pengendalian hama tikus menggunakan dua pendekatan inovatif: pemasangan Rumah Burung Hantu (RUBUHA) dan pemanfaatan ekstrak tanaman tegari (Dianella sp.) sebagai pengusir alami tikus. Pemasangan RUBUHA menyediakan habitat bagi burung hantu sebagai predator alami tikus, sedangkan ekstrak tanaman tegari digunakan sebagai atraktan untuk tikus. Program ini dilakukan di Desa Bentok Darat, Kalimantan Selatan, dengan melibatkan kelompok tani sebagai mitra. Hasil program menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi kedua metode ini efektif mengurangi populasi tikus hingga 70%, sekaligus meningkatkan kesadaran petani tentang pengendalian hama tikus yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

An effort to minimize the negative impact of using chemicals to eradicate rats, it is necessary to look for other control alternatives using traps. Many conventional mouse traps that are less effective in their use can backfire on themselves. Addressing this problem, the author tried to design a semi-automatic mouse trap combined with sensory (motion). The aim of this research is to make semi-automatic mouse traps and various designs to find out which ones are more effective for trapping mice. The method used in this research is trap control carried out in rice fields. The installation of traps was tested for sensory effectiveness. The results of this research show that the motion sensor installed in the trap detected movement visible in the Android application and was successful in trapping mice.

Abstract

Damage to rice plants due to rice rats (R. argentiventer) starts from the seedbed, controlling rats using traps is a control method that is relatively safer than using chemicals. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of the length of the mouse trap entrance pipe in trapping field mice. This research used a descriptive method to determine the effect of the effectiveness of the length of the trap entrance hole in trapping field mice, consisting of 5 treatments. The results of this research show that mouse traps with an entrance hole length of 15 cm are more effective in trapping field mice compared to traps with entry holes of 20 cm and 25 cm, because traps with an entry hole length of 15 cm are able to trap 3 field mice. Meanwhile, in the control trap, 1 fish was obtained.

Abstract

Rodent pests (Rattus spp.) are one of the main threats to agricultural productivity in Indonesia, including in Bentok Darat Village, South Kalimantan. The damage caused by these pests not only reduces crop yields but also increases farmers' dependence on chemical pesticides, which pose environmental risks. To address this issue, effective and environmentally friendly pest control methods are needed. One approach employed is the installation of Owl Houses (RUBUHA) as habitats for barn owls, natural predators of rodents. This community service program aims to optimize rodent pest control by installing RUBUHA on agricultural land. The activities involve students and the Alam Subur farmer group, including training on RUBUHA installation, facility maintenance, and monitoring its effectiveness in reducing rodent populations. Observations showed that the installation of RUBUHA significantly reduced rodent attacks on agricultural land. Additionally, this method successfully increased crop productivity by up to 30% and decreased the use of chemical pesticides. In conclusion, RUBUHA installation is an innovative and sustainable solution for rodent pest control, supporting environmentally friendly agricultural practices while enhancing farmers' welfare.
