Abstract

Most of paddy fields in Indonesia are not consolidated, therefore, soil hardpan usually did not exist.  With no soil hardpan, mobility of any machine for crop maintenance is very difficult even in some places is almost impossible.Until now crop maintenance such as weeding, spraying and spreading fertilizer was done manually by labor. Then mechanization is required to replace the labour which is not available or very expensive. Hence, this study conducted with objective to make a prototype II of a single wheel tractor  for crop maintenance operated in deep mud field or in an unconsolidated paddy field. The study also did performance test of a single wheel tractor to measure the tractor speed, traction, sinkage, and slip of wheel  when operated in rice plants field. The results of performance test showed that the speed average of wheel with straight lug and curved lug were 1.15km/hour and 0.97 km/hour. The average of sinkage and slip both of wheels with straight lug and curved lug respectively were 24.8 cm, 25.9 cm and 38.7 %, 26.12%. The results of performance test olso showed that the traction average of wheel with straight lug and curved lug respectively were 45.8 kg and 41.5 kg

Abstract

Tanalili merupakan salah satu kecamatan di Kabupaten Luwu utara, Sulawesi Selatan yang sebagian besar penduduknya berprofesi sebagai petani. Salah satu komoditas yang banyak dibudidayakan adalah tanaman kelapa sawit yang merupakan salah satu komoditi pertanian terpenting bagi Indonesia, baik dilihat dari devisa yang dihasilkan maupun bagi pemenuhan akan kebutuhan minyak nabati di dalam negeri. Oleh sebab itu dalam kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini memfokuskan pada kegiatan pelatihan pengelolaan pembibitan tanaman kelapa sawit melalui proses “pre-nursery”. Kegiatan PKM ini dilakukan dengan bekerjasama dengan pusat pembibitan kelapa sawit di kecamatan ini yaitu PT. Citra Nurani Nusantara. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini merupakan program PKL yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa/i jurusan Agroteknologi Universitas Muslim Indonesia yang diselenggarakan pada tahun akademik 2020/2021. Kegiatan ini memberikan pengalaman yang luar biasa kepada generasi muda dalam memperkenalkan suatu kearifan lokal yang hampir tidak lagi tersentuh oleh generasi saat ini, atau yang lebih kita kenal dengan sebutan generasi Milenial, sesuai dengan zamannya dimana generasi ini lebih akrab dengan teknologi

Abstract

Bahan organik sampah dapur dan limbah pertanian merupakan sebuah potensi yang harus di manfaatkan. Salah satu cara memanfaatkan limbah organik sampah dapur dan pertanian adalah dengan menajadikannya bahan baku pembuatan tricho-kompos. Kegiatan pelatihan dan workshop ini bertujuan memberikan wawasan dan keterampilan kepada masyarakat dalam memanfaatkan limbah organik sampah dapur dan pertanian menjadi tricho-kompos. Hasil dari pelatihan dan workshop ini diharapkan menjadi salah satu solusi pengurangi penggunaan pupuk kimia dan dapat meningkatkan hasil pertanian. Pelatihan dan workshop dilaksanakan secara langsung agar masyarakat peserta pelatihan dan workshop dapat secara langsung berdiskusi dengan narasumber sehingga transfer ilmu dan keterampilan lebih maksimal.

Abstract

Waste management in a number of areas in the country is still limited and is still a problem for the environment. One way to manage waste wisely is by using it as a medium for cultivating BSF fly maggots (black soldier flies). That's why the Regular Community Service Team at Muhammadiyah University, Enrekang, Bone-bone Village Command Post, Baraka District, Enrekang Regency is cultivating BSF fly maggots in Bone-bone village. The aim of this program is to empower Bone-bone village residents to manage organic waste by cultivating BSF fly maggots into animal feed. The implementation method is by conducting training and at the same time practicing with the local Bone-bone village community and making BSF fly cages directly. The result of this activity is that animal feed is produced in the form of BSF fly maggots and organic fertilizer in packaged form ready to be marketed. The evaluation results also show that there is positive enthusiasm from residents to carry out the same cultivation.

Abstract

Training on making simple compost fertilizer made from E-M4 for the Farmers group of Bunga Padi in Liba Hamlet was carried out as a form of implementing the tri dharma of higher education, namely service to the community. This activity was carried out in collaboration with the Farmers group of Bunga Padi in Liba Hamlet. The aim of this training was to provide training in making compost using the E-M4 decomposer by utilizing organic materials available in the environment. The materials used in this training include husks, straw, bran and cow dung. This training also involved students who were tasked with observing the development of the decomposition process from the time it was made until the material becomes compost. There were four observation variables, namely changes in temperature, texture, color and aroma of the compost material. The results of the observations showed that the decomposition process was going well and produced compost as expected. It was hoped that this training would provide new knowledge and skills for farmers in utilizing organic materials in their environment to make alternative fertilizers that were cheaper and more environmentally friendly.

Abstract

Enzyme activity is greatly influenced by several factors including incubation time, temperature, and pH. This study aimed to determine the optimum pH and temperature of amylase enzyme activity of mold PSA 02 (5) isolated from Sulili hot spring, Pinrang Regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. This study was conducted in two stages, the first is determining the optimum pH of amylase enzyme activity where enzyme activity testing carried out at pH 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. After determination of optimum pH, it continued to determine the optimum temperature of amylase enzyme activity at temperatures of 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80oC. Determination of protein content using the Lowry method and determination of amylase enzyme activity using the Dinitrosalicilyc (DNS) method. The results of this study showed that the optimum pH of amylase enzyme activity is pH 4 with an enzyme activity value of 81.37 U/mL and a specific enzyme activity of 57.61 U/mg, while the optimum temperature of amylase enzyme activity is 50oC with a value of 81.44 U/mL and a specific enzyme activity of 57.74 U/mg. It is interesting to note that the amylase enzyme activity remains high up to a temperature of 80oC with a value of 81.20 U/mL. This study indicates that the amylase enzyme of mold isolate PSA 02 (5) is a thermostable enzyme up to a temperature of 80oC.

Abstract

Banggae is a sub-district located in the city of Majene, West Sulawesi. Generally, the livelihoods of the people in this area are farmers and livestock breeders. One of the representatives of the farmer group in the city of Majene expressed their desire to be assisted and trained in making organic fertilizer. This is based on the large amount of agricultural waste that has not been utilized properly, so organic waste has no economic value. Based on the results of the discussion, one of the solutions offered by the community service team as a form of implementing the tri dharma of higher education to overcome partner problems is to provide training and assistance through optimizing the use of local agricultural waste and household organic waste in producing organic fertilizer. Implementation is carried out through counseling, providing materials, and demonstrations. The process of making organic fertilizer in this activity uses materials that are easily obtained in Banggae District, including banana stems, fruit and vegetable waste, leaves, cow dung, goat dung, and rice washing water. The carbon source is a brown sugar solution mixed with effective microorganism 4 (EM4) as a biocultivator. The method applied is anaerobic microaerophilically using tarpaulin as a fermentation place. The fermentation process lasts for 2 weeks. The results of the mentoring show that the Banggae District farmer group can practice making organic fertilizer from household and agricultural waste independently using EM4 as a biocultivator. Abstrak Banggae merupakan salah satu kecamatan yang terletak di kota Majene Sulawesi Barat. Umumnya, mata pencaharian masyarakat di daerah ini adalah sebagai petani dan peternak. Salah satu perwakilan kelompok tani di kota Majene menyampaikan keinginan untuk didampingi dan dilatih dalam membuat pupuk organik. Hal ini didasarkan oleh banyaknya limbah hasil pertanian yang belum termanfaatkan dengan baik, sehingga limbah organik tersebut hanya menjadi sampah organik yang tidak memiliki nilai ekonomis. Berdasarkan hasil diskusi bersama, salah satu solusi yang ditawarkan oleh tim pengabdian masyarakat sebagai wujud pelaksanaan tri dharma perguruan tinggi untuk mengatasi permasalahan mitra yaitu memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan melalui pengoptimalan penggunaan limbah pertanian lokal dan limbah organik rumah tangga dalam menghasilkan pupuk organik. Pelaksanaan dilakukan melalui penyuluhan, pemberian materi, dan demonstrasi. Proses pembuatan pupuk organik dalam kegiatan ini menggunakan bahan-bahan yang mudah didapat Kecamatan Banggae, antara lain batang pisang, limbah buah-buahan dan sayuran, daun-daunan, kotoran sapi, kotoran kambing, dan air cucian beras. Sumber karbon sederhana yang digunakan adalah larutan gula merah yang telah dicampur dengan effective microorganism 4 (EM4) sebagai biokultivator. Metode yang diterapkan adalah fermentasi anaerob secara mikroaerofilik menggunakan terpal sebagai tempat fermentasi. Proses fermentasi berlangsung selama 2 minggu. Hasil pendampingan menunjukkan bahwa kelompok tani Kecamatan Banggae dapat mempraktikkan pembuatan pupuk organik dari limbah rumah tangga dan pertanian secara mandiri menggunakan EM4 sebagai biokultivator.

Abstract

Modul Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) merupakan salah satu perangkat ajar dalam Kurikulum Merdeka yang dibuat oleh guru untuk kegiatan Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila. Peningkatan kompetensi guru dalam menyusun modul P5 perlu dilakukan melalui pelatihan sehingga modul yang disiapkan sesuai dengan kebutuhan anak dan kondisi sekolah. Oleh karena itu, dalam upaya memberikan penguatan pemahaman guru mengenai penyusunan modul P5 dalam rangka implementasi kurikulum merdeka maka pelaksanaan pengabdian berupa pelatihan terkait hal tersebut perlu dilakukan. Kegiatan pelatihan penyusunan modul P5 dilaksanakan di Sekolah Yayasan Kemala Bhayangkari Makassar dimana peserta pelatihan adalah guru-guru SD dan SMP disekolah tersebut dengan jumlah total peserta pelatihan adalah 32 orang yang terdiri dari 28 orang guru (13 orang guru SD dan 15 orang guru SMP), 2 orang anggota yayasan dan 2 orang mahasiswa. Adapun tahapan pelaksanaan pelatihan meliputi persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi dengan pendekatan sosialisasi, diskusi, simulasi dan evaluasi. Indikator keberhasilan diukur berdasarkan penilaian instrumen pre-test dan post-test. Hasil analisis menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta dari kategori rendah (36%) dan sedang (64%) sebelum materi pelatihan diberikan menjadi kategori tinggi (25%) dan sedang (75%). Pelatihan ini memberikan dampak positif bagi guru, bermanfaat, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam menyusun modul P5.

Abstract

Cengkeh (Eugenia aromatica L.) merupakan tanaman rempah yang sangat penting dan dibutuhkan. Untuk mengetahui luasan pertanaman serta kondisi tanaman diperlukan survei lapangan, namun survei lapangan membutuhkan tenaga yang banyak, waktu yang lama serta biaya yang relatif mahal, teknologi remote sensing menjadi salah satu alternatif untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang penggunaan lahan secara cepat dan akurat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sebaran pertanaman cengkeh di Kabupaten Sinjai berdasarkan pembacaan data citra satelit resolusi menengah. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan semi kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan analisis spasial dan deskriptif. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kabupaten Sinjai pada bulan Mei-September 2024: meliputi 5 Kecamatan sentra cengkeh. Berdasarkan hasil interpretasi citra satelit landsat ETM+8 tahun 2023, luas penutupan lahan yang terbesar adalah areal pertanaman cengkeh/ perkebunan campuran yaitu 2.172 atau 22,2% dengan jumlah pixel yang teridentifikasi sama yaitu 24.124 pixel (1 pixel = 0.09 ha) dari 21.272.8 Ha total area atau 106.364 pixel yang terklasifikasi. Penutupan lahan lainnya yang teridentifikasi adalah pemukiman 7.971 pixel atau 717,4 Ha atau 7,3%, sawah yang teridentifikasi yaitu 21.327 pixel atau 1.919,4 Ha atau 19,9%, hutan yang teridentifikasi yaitu 12.266 pixel atau 1.103,9 Ha atau 11,3%. Jumlah pixel yang paling banyak teridentifikasi hampir sama adalah pada penutupan lahan areal perkebunan cengkeh, hal ini disebabkan karena pengambilan training areal lebih banyak pada wilayah pertanaman cengkeh sedangkan untuk hutan pixelnya kurang karena hanya dianggap pembanding sehingga pengambilan training arealnya sedikit.

Abstract

 The EH - TD - 3000 laboratory-scale tray dryer is one of the drying equipment owned by the agricultural engineering study program, majoring in agricultural technology. The advantage of the dryer is that it uses a continuous control system with excellent performance, fast response and stability. The weakness of the dryer is that the temperature control components are relatively expensive and imported. Currently the control system was in a damaged condition so it was deemed necessary to make modifications. The research aimed to modify and produce a temperature control system using local components that were relatively cheap but performed the same as the previous control system. The research used an experimental method with a functional and structural approach, the design of the temperature control system used an on-off control system and PID Auto Tunning, performance tests include: transient response test and steady state response test on set points 60 oC and 80 oC. The test results showed the performance of the on-off control set did not produce a stable temperature, although it had a fast transient response. The Auto Tunning PID control set produced a fast transient response and steady state when the temperature reached the set point resulting in temperature stability in the drying chamber. Performance comparison with the control system before modification showed that the PID Auto Tunning control system showed the same good performance as the temperature control performance before modification. Where the steady state temperature before and after modification was reached at 43 oC and 42 oC.
