Abstract

Data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui adaptasi survey FLCAS (Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale).

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of case-based learning (CBL) on enhancing collaboration and communication skills among early childhood education (ECE) students. A meta-analysis was conducted using 25 effect sizes from studies published between 2022 and 2024, involving 1,056 participants and sourced from databases such as ERIC, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and Wiley. The JSAP application facilitated statistical analysis. Results indicate that CBL significantly outperforms conventional learning methods in fostering collaboration and communication, evidenced by a high summary effect size of 1.013. CBL offers an interactive, student-centered approach that places students in real-life scenarios, encouraging active participation, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Through intensive group discussions and collaborative activities, students learn to articulate ideas, respect diverse perspectives, and engage constructively in group settings. These findings underscore CBL’s potential as an effective pedagogical approach for developing essential interpersonal skills in ECE, which are critical for students' professional preparedness. Future studies should consider longitudinal impacts and cross-cultural contexts to validate these outcomes further.

Abstract

EFL lecturers face a critical challenge: AI tools are reshaping classroom authority and professional identity faster than institutions can support teacher adaptation. This study examines how AI tools function as reflective catalysts that trigger transformative learning among EFL lecturers in Indonesian higher education. Using narrative inquiry, ten EFL lecturers from five universities in North Sumatra participated in a sixteen-week study during 2024. Data were gathered through three rounds of semi-structured interviews, weekly reflective journals, and classroom observations. Participants, with teaching experience ranging from 5 to 18 years, regularly used ChatGPT, Grammarly, and Google Translate. Unlike prior studies that position teachers as mere implementers of technology, this study foregrounds teacher identity and agency as central to AI integration outcomes. The findings reveal four patterns: AI consistently disrupted routine practices, most visibly in assessment and feedback, reducing average teacher talk time from 65% to 40% and prompting seven lecturers to shift toward inquiry-based learning. Reflective episodes emerged most sharply when AI feedback contradicted teacher judgments, producing three identity responses: empowerment, vulnerability, and identity reconstruction. These findings extend Mezirow's transformative learning theory into real-time, technology-mediated classroom practice and demonstrate that successful AI integration requires institutional support for teacher identity negotiation, rather than solely technical training.

Purpose. This study aims to investigate the challenges faced by English pre-service teachers. It focused on the factor that could be a challenge that bothered the pre-service performance in their teaching practicum. The internal and external factors were also discussed. Method. Three participants participated in this research from different universities. Three of them were doing teaching practicum in the same school. Diaries and mentor feedback were used to collect the data. Results. The findings exposed that there were internal and external challenging factors in teaching. The external challenging factors were the student’s motivation and the lack of facilities. The internal ones were classroom management and teacher proficiency. Conclusion. This research contributed to the instructional practices for EFL pre-service teachers. By knowing the challenges, EFL teachers can overcome them before teaching.

Abstract

The high demands on the use of technology impact the use of digital teaching media in the learning process. In reality, many teachers still have difficulty using technology as teaching media. This community service activity aims to help teachers create innovative technology-based learning media. This activity was carried out at SMAS in Tebing Tinggi. In this activity, teachers took part in training which was carried out for 2 days offline. Teachers are taught how to create learning media using scratch. This training was attended by 12 teachers from various fields of study. The participants were given a pre-test and post-test regarding the use of scratch. Pre-tests and post-tests were given to determine the teacher's level of understanding regarding the use of scratch. The test results showed that 75% of participants were interested in creating learning media using scratch and using it in class. Participants also admitted that teaching media using scratch is easy to understand and can be easily accessed and used.
