Abstract

There is no doubt that Gresik is famous as a center of industry, pesantren, trade and crafts. This makes Gresik more congested and complex problems. On the other hand, Gresik is a cultural city, pesantren, and mayor city which is reflected in the cultural behavior and customs of its people in preserving the heritage of their predecessors both from religious and traditional issues. In this regard, the pilgrims of the at-Taqwa Giri mosque who live in the Gresik area feel that they have been in a comfort zone with the gresik community population including the Muslim-majority Kebomas District. As a dominant religion this can be an advantage. However, it is not as a guarantee to measure the level of religious understanding (Islam), in fact, sometimes the understanding and practice are also still very lacking due to the too high mobility of urban activities, especially in urban Gresik. The lack and lack of understanding related to Islamic religious material at the jama'ah of the at-Taqwa Giri mosque in Kebomas makes it important to organize a special program to strengthen religious understanding in this case is in the form of recitation of mosque pilgrims who have a diversity of life history, but do not reduce their motivation to study Islamic teachings

Abstract

This study examines the use of YouTube as a learning resource in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning for grade 2 students of SD Muhammadiyah GKB 2 Gresik. The research problem focuses on the lack of variation in learning media used, so that students tend to get bored and are less motivated in understanding PAI material. The main objective of this study is to comprehensively describe the implementation of YouTube as a PAI learning medium and analyze the impact on students' interests and understanding. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results showed that the use of YouTube significantly increased students' interest, motivation, and understanding of PAI material. Visual and interactive content on YouTube helps students understand abstract concepts more concretely, and encourages the development of critical thinking skills and digital literacy. However, there are several obstacles such as time constraints and lack of digital literacy among teachers and students. This study recommends the need for digital literacy training for teachers, provision of supporting facilities, and supervision in content selection so that the use of YouTube can run optimally. The results of the study are expected to be a reference in developing innovative PAI learning strategies that are relevant to technological developments.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kontribusi materi Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI), khususnya pada tema “Cinta Kebersihan” di kelas 2 SD Almadany, dalam menumbuhkan kesadaran lingkungan pada siswa. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru PAI secara aktif melibatkan lingkungan sekitar sekolah dalam pembelajaran, baik melalui praktik langsung maupun pembiasaan perilaku hidup bersih. Integrasi nilai-nilai Islam dengan aktivitas lingkungan terbukti efektif meningkatkan kepedulian dan tanggung jawab siswa terhadap kebersihan dan kelestarian lingkungan. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya penguatan materi PAI berbasis lingkungan sebagai strategi pembentukan karakter peduli lingkungan pada anak usia sekolah dasar.This study aims to examine the contribution of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) material, specifically the theme “Love Cleanliness” in grade 2 of SD Almadany, in fostering environmental awareness among students. This research uses a qualitative method with observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The findings show that PAI teachers actively involve the school environment in learning, both through direct practice and habituation of clean living behaviors. The integration of Islamic values with environmental activities has proven effective in increasing students' concern and responsibility towards cleanliness and environmental sustainability. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening environment-based PAI material as a strategy for shaping environmental awareness character in elementary school children.
