Abstract

Contextual teaching and learning (CTL) become learning that can empower pupils' cognitive learning achievement. The research objective was to enhance pupils' cognitive learning achievement (CLA) using the CTL approach. The classroom action research by Kemmis and McTaggart was used in this research. The subjects of this study were pupils of grade IV SDK Doreng, Doreng District, Sikka Regency. Participant research was ten pupils' (three boys, seven girls). Ten multiple-choice tests were used for the evaluation of each cycle. Analysis of data was quantitatively and percentage—five categories for student CLA. The success indicator is based on a score of 65 and classical completeness of 85%. The results showed that the activity of pupils and teachers in the first cycle was low. This finding was followed by not achieving completeness, where only 70% of pupils completed. The second cycle findings inform that pupils' and teacher activities were excellent, followed by classical completeness, reaching 100%. This action research concludes that CTL can improve pupils' CLA. This research recommends using CTL in the future to enhance pupils' CLA.

Abstract

The research objective is to strengthen student learning outcomes using inquiry-based learning. This type of research is called classroom action research. This study's subjects were 34 students of class X MIPA 4 SMA Negeri 1 Wonomulyo, consisting of 12 boys and 22 girls. The instrument used to measure students' learning outcomes in this study was a multiple-choice test of 50. The indicator that shows the success of the research implementation is that students can achieve a minimum completeness value of 80% at a minimum standard score of 65. Based on the results of the classroom action research that has been implemented In SMA Negeri 1 Wonomulyo, it can be concluded that the application of the Inquiry learning model can improve student learning outcomes in class X MIPA 4 SMA Negeri 1 Wonomulyo. Abstract

Using technology as a medium in the learning process is very beneficial for teachers, lecturers, and students. Quizizz is a web tool that can be used to conduct interactive quizzes for learning. Quizizz, in this study, is used as an online evaluation medium for learning English. However, every learning medium has advantages and disadvantages, including Quizizz. This research aims to determine students' perceptions of Quizizz as an online evaluation medium for English language learning. The mixed method is the method of this study, with the instruments being observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The research subjects were twenty students of economics education. The results obtained from the questionnaire showed that the use of Quizizz in online evaluation received positive responses from students. This response is shown by the ten questionnaire items getting a high percentage for each positive statement. Likewise, from the in-depth interviews, the data obtained also received positive and varied responses. From the results of this research, it was concluded that online evaluation using Quizizz media was very well received by students and could be used in the future by considering input and suggestions from students regarding this medium. In addition, other subjects can use this medium as a learning evaluation medium.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the implementation of character education in students as future teachers. Character education can form a complete human being with character, namely forming lifelong learners, and will actually be able to develop all students' potential in a balanced way (spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social and physical) which is adapted to the educational goals contained in the philosophy of the Indonesian nation, namely Pancasila. In a college environment, character education is nothing new. However, its implementation still requires more understanding which can be provided in general courses at universities. This research uses data collection methods, namely interview methods, observation and documentation methods. Validity test using source triangulation and 5-stage qualitative analysis from Miles and Huberman. From the research results, it was found that the implementation of character education in Flores University mathematics education study program students as teacher candidates through curriculum review courses can be seen from the embedded character values, namely discipline, hard work, creativity, independent responsibility and communicativeness.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the significance of the input hypothesis in enhancing the listening comprehension abilities of EFL/ESL learners. The methodology employed in this study is a critical literature review. This entailed a comprehensive search for relevant articles and other sources, a meticulous reading of the material, the categorization of data, a thorough analysis, and the synthesis of findings. The findings of this study indicate that the input hypothesis plays an essential role in developing ESL/EFL learners' listening comprehension abilities through the acquisition of comprehensible inputs. The activation of linguistic background knowledge enables EFL/ESL learners to develop pronunciation skills, understanding of grammatical accuracy, lexical resources, and meaning. Optimizing the inputs of the listening strategy (cognitive, metacognitive, socio-affective) assists EFL/ESL learners in activating their memory about listening materials. This is achieved through making inferences, elaborations, summaries, translations, observations, assessments, and becoming involved in the community. Inputs from media, audio (visual), and practices can develop EFL/ESL learners' cognition, motivation, stimulating perception, activating prior knowledge. In conclusion, the components of the comprehensible inputs must be integrated and developed in a coordinated manner during the teaching and learning process of listening skills.
