Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop a simple harmonic motion experiment guide based on smartphone sensors for use on a double surfboard sports vehicle that is valid, practical, and effective. This study applies the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which includes five stages: (1) Analysis, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, and (5) Evaluation. The results show that the accelerometer sensor on a smartphone can effectively measure the period value in the double surfboard sports experiment. The experimental guidebook developed in this study demonstrates high validity, with an average score of 3.53 (88.33%) from media experts and 3.43 (85.75%) from material experts. Practicality testing, based on student responses, resulted in an average score of 3.48 (87.16%), indicating that the guide is highly suitable for use in the learning process. Furthermore, effectiveness testing through pretest and posttest assessments of 17 students showed an improvement in student understanding, with an n-gain value of 0.45, categorized as "medium." Consequently, this guidebook serves as an effective learning tool for enhancing students' comprehension of simple harmonic motion concepts.

Abstract

Malagufuk Village is known for its potential as a conservation-based birdwatching ecotourism village in natural forests. Through its ecotourism potential, Malagufuk Village is increasingly visited by foreign tourists. Even though the graph shows an increase, researchers found various obstacles based on observations in the field. One of the problems experienced by local tour guides from Malagufuk Village is their low English language skills. This lack of English language skills has limited the ability of tour guides to provide information. tour guide, explaining the uniqueness and ecotourism potential of Malagufuk Village, as well as facilitating smooth interaction between tourists and local residents. The aim of this activity is to improve community welfare and independence through empowerment in the tourism sector. The methods in this activity consist of socialization, training, application of technology, mentoring and evaluation, as well as a desire program. The result of this activity is that the tour guide has weaknesses in speaking good English, then there is no optimization of digital branding. All obstacles found can be overcome with the solutions offered. All the people of Malagufuk Village, especially the administrators and tour guides, can speak English well and are able to carry out digital marketing effectively.

Abstract

Based on field observations in Sorong Regency, the JKN program, initiated by the government to improve public health, is still not well understood by the community. The purpose of this activity is to introduce and provide information about the JKN program to the community, as well as facilitate their registration and understanding of the program. This activity is carried out through socialization and assistance, where JKN volunteer teams are trained and deployed to help the community with registration and understanding of the JKN program. Training and socialization are conducted through direct visits to the community. After the socialization and assistance activities, the community in Sorong Regency has a better understanding of the JKN program, and more people have registered as JKN participants. The socialization and assistance activities of the JKN program in Sorong Regency have helped the community understand and engage with the program. Although there are still challenges and room for improvement, these activities are crucial to ensure that the community benefits from the JKN program.

Abstract

The Kampus Mengajar program is an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia aimed at improving educational quality in the 3T (Disadvantaged, Frontier, and Outermost) regions. This study discusses implementing the 7th Kampus Mengajar program at IES Al-Ghuroba Elementary School, Sorong Regency, Papua Barat Daya. The program engaged university students as teaching agents to enhance students' literacy and numeracy skills through activities like 15-minute morning reading sessions, teaching aids in math lessons, and healthy living behavior campaigns. Results indicate significant improvements in student motivation, literacy and numeracy abilities, and social skills. Activities like technology adaptation and library revitalization also helped improve students' technological competencies and fostered a love for reading. Monitoring and evaluation by supervising lecturers and the Papua Barat Education Quality Assurance Agency (Balai Penjamin Mutu Pendidikan or BPMP Papua Barat) highlighted the program's positive impact on educational quality. The program's success underscores the importance of collaboration among students, lecturers, and school stakeholders in creating an enhanced learning environment. Continued support from the government and strengthened technology training is recommended for future program effectiveness.

Abstract

Smartphone integration for high school students has significant potential in physics learning. This research aims to analyze smartphone sensor data in the context of physics experiments carried out at traveling carnivals. This research uses experimental methods to compare smartphone sensor data collected via the Phyphox application with video analysis data obtained using Tracker software. The research results show the effectiveness of smartphone sensors in several carnival games, including simple leg swings, bicycle spins, kora-kora vehicles, and merry-go-rounds. Smartphone sensors can show graphs of simple harmonic motion, angular velocity, and centripetal acceleration on the game vehicle. However, limitations arise in the case of Ferris wheels and mini Ferris wheels, where smartphone sensors show reduced effectiveness caused by the instability of passenger seats during the ride. This research suggests avenues for further exploration by computing physical quantity values derived from smartphone sensor data, offering insights into potential improvements and applications in dynamic environments such as theme parks.

Abstract

The limited laboratory equipment in many schools hinders students in conducting physics experiments, so that learning is more theoretical and less supportive of practice-based understanding. This study aims to develop a smartphone sensor-based physics experiment module on wave and optical materials that is valid, practical, and effective, and allows students to conduct experiments flexibly and independently. This research uses the Research and Development (R & D) method with the Borg & Gall model. Validation by media and material experts showed that this module has met the eligibility standards, with a score of 3.67 (73.4%) for media aspects and 3.56 (71.2%) for material aspects. The practicality test showed that this module can be used well in experimental learning, with a score of 3.48 (69.6%) in the “Good” category. Evaluation of effectiveness through comparison of pre-test and post-test showed an increase in learning outcomes with an N-gain of 0.55 (medium category). These results indicate that the integration of smartphone sensors in physics experiments can be an alternative solution for schools with limited laboratory facilities. This module offers a more flexible, accessible and technology-based learning approach. Future research can develop similar modules for other physics materials and evaluate their effectiveness in various learning scenarios.
