Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study is to improve reading comprehension by using learning models Examples Non - Examples with visual media. The form of this research is classroom action research and carried out in two cycles. The cycle consists of four steps, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were homeroom teacher and fourth grade students. Data analysis technique is interactive analysis consisting of three components, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data collection techniques used are documentation, observaation, interviews, tests. Data validity using data triangulation and technical triangulation. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that through the application of Examples Non - Examples with visual media can improve comprehension reading skills for IV students of SD N Bumi 01 Surakarta in the 2018/2019 academic year.Keywords : Examples Non-Examples Learning Model and visual media, reading comprehension ability of stories

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition learning model on the ability to read comprehension of short stories of grade V elementary school students. This research is a quantitative research with quasi experimental design method with nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique was carried out with one of the probability sampling techniques. The research sample consisted of two classes randomly selected from the population of grade V elementary school students in the orchid cluster. The experimental class used the CIRC learning model, while the control class used conventional learning. Data collection was carried out using test techniques. The data were analyzed using the independent sample t-test. Group discussion activities in this learning model also play a role in helping students understand the meaning of words the context of the story more deeply. The results of the analysis show a significance value (Sig. 2 tailed) of 0.007 <0.05, which means there is a significant difference between the learning outcomes of students in experimental and control classes. Thus, the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition learning model has a positive effect on the ability to read comprehension of short stories.

Abstract

The purpose of this study are 1) to identify early reading difficulties factors in SDN 2 Sumberingin and 2) the ways to overcome early reading difficulties. This research is using qualitative research with a case study approach. The subject in this research is 2nd-grade students. Data collection techniques using tests, observation, and interviews. Based on data from this research, the results show that 4 students still have reading difficulties. The difficulties such as identifying letters, having errors in pronouncing sentences, unfluent reading, and wrong intonation. The error are caused by some factors, such as physique factor, psychology, the teacher, environment, and facilities infrastructure. Efforts that can be made are monitoring by parents and giving rewards so that students' interest increases when learning to read. While in school, teachers can provide additional lesson hours and provide methods and media that can support reading skills.

Abstract

This research aims to increase understanding of science and science learning material on Indonesia Kaya Raya by using the Problem Based Learning learning model for class students at SD Negeri 2 Kuwarisan Kebumen. This research is a classroom action research (PTK). This research was carried out through two cycles. Each cycle has two meetings. Every meeting contains observation, planning, action, reflection. The subjects of this research were class V students at SD Negeri 2 Kuwarisan. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation, documentation and tests. The validity test technique uses triangulation techniques. The data analysis used in this research is data analysis according to Sugiyono. Data analysis begins with data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing data conclusions. The results of the research show an increase in understanding of Indonesia Kaya Raya material by using the Problem Based Learning learning model. This can be proven by the increase in the percentage of students who meet the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) at the pre-action stage by 22% or there are 2 students. Meanwhile, 78% of students have not met the minimum completeness criteria (KKM), or there are 7 students. In cycle I, 66.6% of students met the minimum completeness criteria (KKM), or there were 6 students. Meanwhile, 33.3% or 3 students have not reached the minimum completion criteria (KKM). In cycle II, there were 11.1% or 1 student who had not met the minimum completeness criteria (KKM), while 88.8% or 8 students had met the minimum completeness criteria (KKM). The conclusion based on this research is that using the Problem Based Learning learning model can increase understanding of the wealth of Indonesian science and science learning material.

Abstract

This research aims to describe teachers' knowledge and application of basic teaching skills. In this research, researchers used a qualitative approach with the phenomenological method. The data sources in this research were class IV teachers and class V teachers at SD Negeri Karangasem 2. The sampling technique used non probability sampling, namely purposive sampling. The data collected in this research used observation, tests, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Test the validity of the data using source triangulation and technique triangulation. The data analysis used in this research is the Miles and Huberman model data analysis. The results of this research are that the fourth grade teacher's learning opening and closing skills, the results of the knowledge test have a percentage of 91.6% and the results of the application of teaching skills have a percentage of 83.3%. For class V teachers, the knowledge test results had a percentage of 91.6% and the application results had a percentage of 83.3%. In the fourth grade teacher's questioning skills, the knowledge test had a percentage of 83.3% and the results of applying questioning skills were 91.6%. For class V teachers, the knowledge test results were 91.6% and the application results percentage was 91.6%. In terms of skills for strengthening learning, class IV teachers' knowledge test results have a percentage of 75% and the results of applying teaching skills have a percentage of 83.3%. For class V teachers, the knowledge test results had a percentage of 91.6% and the application results had a percentage of 75%. Regarding the skills of implementing variations in learning for class IV teachers, the results of the knowledge test have a percentage of 91.6% and the results of the application of teaching skills have a percentage of 75%. For class V teachers, the knowledge test results had a percentage of 91.6% and the application results had a percentage of 83.3%. In class IV teachers' learning classroom management skills, the knowledge test results had a percentage of 91.6% and the percentage of results for the application of teaching skills was 83.3%. For class V teachers, the knowledge test results had a percentage of 91.6% and the application results had a percentage of 83.3%. In terms of skills in guiding small group discussions for class IV teachers, the results of the knowledge test were 91.6% and the results of the application of teaching skills were 83.3%. Abstract

This research aims to describe the methods and obstacles to cultivating an attitude of cooperation through Scout extracurriculars in class III A of SDN Panularan No.06 Surakarta for the 2023/2024 academic year. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques through moderate observation, interviews and documentation. Test the validity of the data using triangulation of techniques and sources. Data analysis uses Miles and Huberman analysis techniques. The results of the research show that: (1) The coach has instilled an attitude of cooperation through various means, including the group system succeeded in achieving 5 of the 6 indicators of a cooperative attitude with a percentage of 83% in the very good category, the intervention achieved 3 indicators with a percentage of 50% in the poor category, exemplary and habituation reached 2 indicators with a percentage of 33% in the very poor category due to students forgetting, mentoring and reinforcement reached 2 indicators with a percentage of 33% in the very poor category due to the lack of planning and consequences. The game method and the involvement of various parties reached 2 and 1 indicators respectively with a percentage of 33% and 16.67% in the very poor category, namely only carried out at large meetings (2) Internal obstacles were related to lack of supervision, while external obstacles included limited planning and the number of supervisors. Abstract

The objective of this research to improve students’ ability in finding main idea in a discourse text in fifth grade students’ of elementary school at SD Negeri Pelemrejo, Boyolali 2018/2019 academic year through Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review (SQ3R) Learning Model. The subjects in this research were a teacher and 17 students. This research was conducted in three cycles. The research data were collected using interview, observation, tests, and document analysis. The data validity was tested by data source triangulation techniques and methodological triangulation technique. The data obtained in this research consisted of quantitative data and qualitative data. The quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive comparative analysis techniques and the qualitative data were analyzed using interactvie models. The first cycle, classical completeness to 41,18%. In the second cycle improvement has increased with classical completeness of 70,59%. The improvement in the third cycle has increased again with classical completeness of 82,35%. Based on the findings as presented above, it can be concluded that the students’ ability in finding main idea in discourse text in fifth grade students’ of elementary school at SD Pelemrejo 2018/2019 academic year can be improved through SQ3R learning models.

Abstract

Collaboration is one of the 4C skills needed for the development of learning to respond to the interests of students' adaptation to the 21st-century environment. One aspect of collaboration that can be reviewed in learning using problem-based learning in groups is the aspect of working productively. This study describes the aspects of working productively in collaboration skills in class VI students of SD Negeri Setono using Greenstein's perspective, especially in problem-based learning. This research is a type of research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were students and teachers of class VI at SD Negeri Setono Surakarta. Collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation studies. The Data validity testing technique uses technique and source triangulation. The collected data were then analyzed using the interactive data analysis technique of the Miles and Huberman model. The results of this study indicate that students can work productively in problem-based learning designed in groups. This can be seen from the emergence of all aspects of indicators of working productively in learning activities. The productivity shown by students is supported by other aspects of collaboration skills.

Abstract

This research aims to describe teachers' abilities in utilizing Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-based learning media in class IV science learning at SDN Kleco I Surakarta. This research used descriptive qualitative approach with a case study type of research. Sampling in this study used a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques used tests, observation, interviews and document study. Data were obtained from class IVA, IVC and IVD teachers at SDN Kleco I Surakarta. The validity test technique used time triangulation and technique triangulation. The data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman model with stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and data verification. The results of this research are that theoretically teachers' knowledge regarding ICT learning media is included in the "Very Good" category with an average score of 100%, practically teachers' skills in using ICT learning media are in the "Very Good" category with an average score obtained amounted to 93.6%, and the teacher's ability to develop ICT learning media, the results are good because the teacher can choose, perfect and create it himself. However,there is still a need to improve teachers’ abilities in developing ICT learning media.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to increased  the understanding of the meaning of the pancasila symbol with a Mind Mapping model in SD Negeri Tunggulsari 1 school year 2019/2020. The researching is a Classroom Action Research at elementary school  concocted in two cycles. every cycle consists of four stages, there are: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The technique to collect data, there are documentation, interviews, observation, and tests. The result of data collection were used as the source of triangulation and triangulation methods.The data analysis was performed of using interactive analysis technique. The first cycle resulted in a percentage of 54,54% and the study continued with the second cycle with the percentage of 90,90%. the outcome of research shows that the use Mind Mapping model can increased  the understanding of the meaning of pancasila symbols at SD Negeri Tunggulsari 1 school years 2019/2020.
