Abstract

Schools, as key educational institutions, play a vital role in fostering 21st-century skills, notably the 4Cs: critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. Among these, reading ability stands out as a fundamental skill in elementary education, essential for students' overall learning success. This study investigates the reading comprehension difficulties experienced by students at Sekolah Dasar Teologi Kristen Galilea Banjarmasin. The study aims to analyze these difficulties in depth to provide insights into improving reading instruction and enhancing student learning outcomes. Objective to determine the reading difficulties of grade five students at SDTK Galilea Banjarmasin. Quantitative descriptive method research design. The population is the grade five at SDTK Galilea Banjarmasin, with a total sample of fitteen students. This research was conducted by distributing questions to children. Based on the data it can be know that 53,32% students has difficulties in determining main idea, 36,66% of students has difficulties in understanding vocabulary, 29,99% of students has difficulties in finding detail information, 28,33% students has difficulties in locating references, 26,66% students has difficulties in making inferences. Based on the analysis of students’ reading comprehension test result at SDTK Galilea Banjarmasin it can be concluded that students face challenges in various aspects of reading comprehension. They particulary struggle with identifying main idea, identifying references, making references, locating detailed information in the text. These finding suggest that students’ overall reading comprehension is still low, indicating a need for targed instructional strategies to addres these issues in the learning procces.

Abstract

Dalam keadaan normal, asam urat dapat larut di dalam darah pada tingkat tertentu. Apabila kadar asam urat dalam darah melebihi daya larutnya, maka plasma darah akan menjadi sangat jenuh dan keadaan ini disebut dengan hiperurisemia. Asam urat merupakan asam lemah yang didistribusikan dalam cairan ekstraseluler sebagai natrium urat. Jumlah asam urat dalam plasma tergantung pada jumlah makanan atau minuman yang mengandung purin, biosintesis asam urat dan laju ekskresi urat. Kadar asam urat serum plasma diatur oleh 4 komponen sistem transpor ginjal yang meliputi proses filtrasi, reabsorbsi, sekresi dan reabsorbsi paska sekresi. Produksi asam urat yang berlebihan dapat disebabkan karena pengeluaran asam urat melalui ginjal kurang yang disebabkan ginjal yang rusak. Salah satu terapi non-farmakologis yang dapat di berikan adalah terapi bekam yang bertujuan untuk mengeluarkan racun dalam tubuh berupa darah kotor yang salah satunya adalah kadar asam urat. Tujuan Penelitian : untuk mengetahui gambaran penerapan terapi bekam terhadap penurunan kadar asam urat pada penderita hiperurisemia. Metode : Penelitian ini adalah Deskriptif Kuantitatif dengan desain pre eksperimental pendekatan One Group Pretest-Posttest untuk mengukur kadar asam urat sebelum dan sesudah pemberian terapi bekam. Sampel sebanyak 18 responden pasien hiperurisemia. Pengumpulan data menggunakan pengukuran kadar asam urat sebelum dan sesudah diberikan terapi bekam. Analisa data dilakukan secara univariat. Hasil : Penelitian  ini menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden adalah laki-laki (61,1%) dengan usia dominan 40 tahun. Sebelum intervensi rata-rata kadar asam urat 7,9 mg/dL. Kesimpulan : Setelah intervensi rata-rata kadar asam urat 7,0 mg/dL. Perubahan ini mengidentifikasi bahwa intervensi yang diberikan efektif untuk menurunkan kadar asam urat pada penderita hiperurisemia.

Abstract

Konsep hedonisme merupakan awal dari sebuah pemikiran para filosof Yunani kuno yang bisa ditelusuri lewat tulisan-tulisan mereka yang waktunya lebih dari 23 abad yang lalu. Pemikiran hedonisme sebagai suatu usaha untuk menjalankan motivasi dalam diri seseorang, di mana konsepnya ialah seseorang itu mempunyai kecenderungan mencari kesenangan dan kecenderungan untuk menghindari ketidakenakan dan kesusahan. Motivasi ini sebenarnya sebagai penggerak dalam diri manusia dalam mencapai tujuan hedonisme karena pada hakikat tidak ada manusia yang ingin berada pada posisi tidak nyaman, tidak senang, mencekam atau menakutkan sehingga dengan cara apapun akan dilakukan dalam upaya meraih kecenderungan keenakan dan kesenangan. Perilaku hedonisme manusia yang dipikirkan melalui akalnya sehingga senantiasa bersifat rasional. Dalam sebuah organisasi pada dunia pendidikan yang dikenal dengan sebutan lembaga pendidikan juga diperlukan motivasi kerja karena manusia bekerja dan bertindak berdasarkan motivasi-motivasinya, termasuk mereka yang mengambil keputusan bekerja pada lembaga pendidikan. Oleh karenanya, seorang manajer di lembaga pendidikan penting untuk memperhatikan latar belakang yang menjadi motivasi pendidik bekerja di lembaga tersebut dan harus memahami konsep dari macam-macam teori motivasi ‘Content Theories’, untuk menggugah motivasi mereka agar pendidik dapat bekerja dengan maksimal sesuai dengan visi, misi dan tujuan lembaga pendidikan yang telah disepakati bersama. Teori-teori motivasi yang dikenal dengan ‘Content Theories’ yang dikemukakan oleh para ahli terbagi menjadi sepuluh macam di antaranya: teori Klasik oleh Frederick W. Taylor, teori Kebutuhan oleh Abraham Maslow, teori Dua Faktor oleh Federick Herzberg, teori Pemeliharaan dan Pendorongan dari M. Scoot Myer, teori Human Relation oleh Rensis Likert, teori Preference-Expectation dari Victor H. Vroom, teori Motivasi “X” dan “Y” dari Douglas McGregor, teori Existence, Relatedness, Growth (ERG) dari C. Clayton P. Alderfer, teori Kebutuhan Berprestasi dari David C. McClelland dan teori Motivasi Keadilan dari Strecy Adams.

Abstract

Tafsir is intended as an outward meaning of the Qur'an while ta'wil is an attempt to understand the outward meaning of the Qur'an. In the understanding between interpretation and ta'wil of the Koran, there are some scholars who equate interpretation and ta'wil of the Koran, but there are also those who distinguish between interpretation and ta'wil of the Koran. Interpretation of the al-Qur’an in terms of explaining the meaning of the verses of the al-Qur’an, most of which are still in a very global (general) form which supports the understanding of the interpretation of the al-Qur’an covering various sciences such as: Science of Sharf, Nahwu , Science I'rab, Mufradat, Ma'ani, Bayan. While the meaning of ta'wil al-Qur’an in language, the word ta'wil comes from the word ala-yaulu-aulan which means to return to the origin. Some argue that ta'wil comes from the word yes, which means to arrange. There are also those who argue that Al-sharf means turning away and Al-siyasah which means tricking. The similarities between interpretation and ta'wil of the Qur'an are (1) The similarity of interpretation wa ta'wil of the Qur'an is actually seen in the target and objective of explaining the purpose and meaning of the verses of the al-Qur’an so that humans avoid mistakes in understanding the contents of the Qur'an as a way of life. Whereas (2) The difference between interpretation and ta'wil of the Qur'an is that ta'wil is an inner interpretation that is deeper than exegesis, but the condition for inner exegesis is that it corresponds to an outward interpretation which is more real and the meaning achieved by the exegesis cannot be expanded. with takwil especially in the interpretation of law.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the students’ errors and find the most errors students made. This study used qualitative approach having descriptive approach the research method. The sample were 35 college students in the University at the first semester in English class which selected purposively. The data was collected through the writing test. It is used to identify the type of errors students’ made and the highest errors students’ made in writing descriptive text by using simple present tense. The writing test is conducted two times. After those, the data were analyzed and found the result. The result showed that there were 510 errors found in students’ works, consisting of omission of “be”, inappropriate use of “be”, superfluous of be, subject-verb agreement, wrong form of have/has, wrong form of negative sentence, inappropriate use of pronoun and wrong form of modal auxiliary. The highest number of errors was subject-verb agreement at the first rank with 138 errors or 27% and omission “be” after subject at the second rank with 125 errors or 22.5% and the lowest numbers of error were inappropriate use of pronoun and inappropriate form of negative sentence with 11 error or 2.2 %.  Based on the result, it can be found that students have difficulties in writing descriptive text by using simple present tense which influenced of interlanguage transfer and intralingual transfer.

Abstract

English is a crucial medium of communication, with fluency in four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Speaking is one of the most challenging skills, as it allows students to engage in conversations, express meaning, and express opinions. Thinking is a key factor in developing speaking abilities, as it helps individuals solve issues, make decisions, and achieve goals. This research aimed to measure the correlation between students' critical thinking and their speaking skills. A quantitative study of 14 first-semester students of the Diploma 4 Health Promotion study program at Sari Mulia University found a weak correlation (rho coefficient 0.209, sig. score 0.494). The results reject the alternative hypothesis (Ha), indicating that there is no significant correlation between students' critical thinking and speaking ability, confirming the null hypothesis (Ho), is accepted.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the effect of Learning Management System (LMS) supported blended learning on students’ English proficiency in English for Academic Purpose (EAP) classroom. Previous studies have explored the broader benefits of blended learning. However, there is a lack of studies specifically investigating its impact on EAP instruction. This study aims to address this gap by providing a comprehensive analysis of LMS-supported blended learning in EAP, contributing to a deeper understanding of its potential benefits and challenges in this specialized area of language education. This research implies quasi experimental study method with one group pretest posttest experimental design. The population of this research was 138 students of pharmacy study program of Sari Mulia University academic year 2023/2024 who took EAP course divided into three classes. The sample of this research was 45 of class A students who were selected using cluster random sampling technique. The result found that LMS supported blended learning has no significant effect on students’ English mastery in EAP classroom. This indicates that main hypothesis (H1) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (H0) is accepted. Nevertheless, LMS supported blended learning is still helpful and applicable in EAP instruction since the students’ mean score indicates small improvement on their English proficiency.
