Abstract

The objective of Design for Assembly is to optimize the assembly process by minimizing or reducing the time required for assembly. Materials used in each component, as well as the sequence in which the parts are handled and inserted, have a significant impact at formation the angles of α (alpha) and β (beta). These angles serve as reference points for determining the allotment assembly time for a component. Calculation process begins by determining the number of pieces (N) and variety of component (n) at the product to be assembled. The factors that significantly influence the arrangement of components during handling, insertion, and fastening processes are determined. Handling complexity factor is the factors affecting the handling process (Ch), while insertion complexity factor is the factors influencing the insertion process (Ci). Product Complexity Index (CIproduct) and the assembly process complexity (Cassembly process) from the product to be assembled can be calculated, where lower values indicating easier assembly and shorter assembly time, recommendations and suggestions to relevant parties.

Abstract

Pemanasan global saat ini menyebakan banyaknya karbon dioksida (CO2) yang berasal dari emisi gas buang kendaraan bermotor. Keadaan ini menjadi semakin diperparah dengan pola hidup sebagian besar masyarakat Indonesia yang masih mengandalkan kendaraan berbahan bakar bensin sebagai penunjang aktivitas sehari-hari. Beragam alat untuk menghemat bahan bakar mulai bermunculan. Sepeda motor HHO (hidrogen hidrogen oksigen) adalah sepeda motor yang menggunakan bantuan elektrolisasi air sebagai campuran bahan bakar bensin, hidrogen dari air yang sudah dipecah oleh generator gas dalam proses elektrolisasi itu menjadi semacam aditif yang membuat mesin lebih irit BBM dan bersih. Hydrogen Electrolyzer merupakan salah satu teknologi baru yang sedang dalam pengembangan, yang mana Hydrogen Electrolyzer ini berupa tabung plastik yang komponen di dalamnya berisi dua buah elektroda katoda (+) dan anoda (-) yang merupakan besi stainless steel di isi dengan air bersih (murni tanpa kandungan unsur lain) yang ditambahkan elektrolit selanjutnya dihubungkan pada aki (accu) motor untuk mengubah air menjadi gas HHO. Gas HHO inilah yang akan digunakan sebagai sumber energi dan penghematan bahan bakar dalam mesin bakar, yang akan berdampak pada penurunan kadar CO (karbon monoksida) dan kadar HC (hidro karbon) yang dihasilkan sepeda motor yang menggunakan tabung hydrogen electrolyzer, sedangkan kadar CO2 dan kadar O2 mengalami peningkatan sehingga perbandingan kadar HC (hidro karbon) pada emisi gas buang yang dihasilkan pada sepeda motor yang menggunakan tabung hydrogen electrolyzer ini menyebabkan proses pembakaran menjadi lebih sempurna dibandingkan proses pembakaran pada sepeda motor tanpa menggunakan tabung hydrogen electrolyzer.

Abstract

The development of technology in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era requires vocational higher education institutions to produce graduates who possess technical competencies, technological adaptability, and work readiness that meet the needs of industry and business sectors. This study aims to conduct a comparative analysis of Mechanical Engineering curricula in Indonesia as a basis for developing the Applied Bachelor's Degree Curriculum in Mechanical Engineering at Saint Paul Polytechnic Sorong. The research employed a descriptive-comparative approach using document analysis methods on five Mechanical Engineering study programs that have implemented Outcome-Based Education (OBE), consisting of three academic programs and two vocational programs. Data were collected through documentation studies of graduate profiles, learning outcomes, curriculum structures, and supporting curriculum documents. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis and comparative analysis to identify similarities, differences, and unique characteristics among the curricula. The results indicate that all study programs have implemented OBE principles aligned with the National Standards of Higher Education (SN-Dikti), the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI), and the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy. Academic programs tend to emphasize analytical and engineering development competencies, while vocational programs focus more on applied competencies and industrial needs. Common characteristics were found in the mastery of engineering sciences, design capabilities, engineering problem-solving skills, professional communication, and lifelong learning competencies. The findings of this study can serve as a reference for developing a curriculum that is relevant to industrial needs and the regional development characteristics of Papua.

Abstract

Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) fishing poses a significant threat to Indonesia's vast marine resources, contributing to economic losses, environmental degradation, and the marginalization of coastal communities. Although Indonesia has adopted penal and non-penal instruments to counter IUU fishing, the current legal approach remains largely reactive and fragmented, with law enforcement focusing on low-level actors while systemic drivers and corporate beneficiaries remain untouched. The article's strength lies in its integration of progressive law with Islamic legal principles, providing a unique perspective that emphasizes justice, human welfare, and sustainability. This article employs a normative juridical method, using a statute approach, case approach, conceptual approach, and comparative approach to Islamic legal principles such as maslahah mursalah and hisbah. The results shows that a holistic and human-centered legal approach is essential to restore equity, increase deterrence, and ensure sustainable fisheries management. The novelty of this research lies in formulating a concrete legal reconstruction model that operationalizes progressive justice and Islamic legal teleology as integrated instruments for future reform of Indonesia’s fisheries legal regime. This article contributes to the discourse on legal reform in environmental governance, offering practical insights for policymakers and legal practitioners in Indonesia and beyond.

Abstract

Introduction: Wildlife trade is a form of environmental crime that has serious impacts on biodiversity. Ambon City, as part of the Eastern Indonesia region which is rich in endemic species, is also a location for criminal acts of protected wildlife trade. This can threaten the survival of species and their ecosystems. Purposes of the Research: The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the policy of combating wildlife trade in Ambon City, both in terms of penal (criminal law) and non-penal (non-criminal law) efforts, and to assess the basis for judges' considerations in imposing criminal sentences on perpetrators. This study uses a normative legal research method with a statutory approach and a conceptual approach. Methods of the Research: This research uses normative juridical using primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. The collection technique is done through literature studies in the form of books, scientific works, and other literature. Findings of the Research: This research shows that efforts to tackle wildlife trade crime in Ambon City are still very weak. Based on a study of two Ambon District Court decisions (No. 327/Pid.Sus-LH/2023/PN Amb and No. 242/Pid.Sus-LH/2024/PN Amb), it was found that law enforcement has not provided an optimal deterrent effect. The penalties imposed on perpetrators tend to be light and disproportionate to the environmental damage caused. This study also found that non-penal efforts such as legal education, environmental monitoring, and community empowerment have not been effective. In addition, public understanding of the law on wildlife protection is still low. Thus, a more integrative policy between penal and non-penal (preventive and educative) approaches is needed to effectively and sustainably tackle wildlife trade in Ambon City.
