Abstract

Based on the results of a preliminary study at SMA Negeri 1 Cihaurbeuti, it is known that students' cognitive learning outcomes are still classified as poor, one of which is the kinetic gas theory material which still has not reached the minimum completeness criteria, namely 70, because the learning method still uses the lecture method. Apart from that, the lack of innovation in the use of models in physics learning causes physics learning to become less interesting for students so that cognitive learning outcomes need to be improved. One of the solutions taken by researchers to overcome this problem is to apply the Orientation, Analysis, Synthesis, Investigation, Synergy (OASIS) learning model. The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of the OASIS learning model on students' cognitive learning outcomes in class XI gas kinetic theory material at SMA Negeri 1 Cihaurbeuti. The research method used is quasi experimental design because this research is educational research with the object used being humans. The research design applied is nonequivalent control group design, where the two classes of research samples will undergo tests before and after being given treatment. The population in this research is all 7 classes of class To measure cognitive learning outcomes (C1, C2, C3), students were tested before treatment (pretest) and after being given treatment (posttest) in the form of a description of 6 questions on the main material of the kinetic theory of gases. The data analysis technique that will be used is the prerequisite test including the normality test and homogeneity test, as well as hypothesis testing using the t test with a significance level  showing that  (4.06>1.67) which means  is accepted and  is rejected, so it can be concluded that the OASIS learning model has an effect on students' cognitive learning outcomes in gas kinetic theory material.

Abstract

The PjBL approach is applied to the Physics Laboratory Management course to support the achievement of learning outcomes. Through PjBL, preservice teachers are given assignments related to their future work as teachers and are required to complete them in groups. This study aims to determine how preservice teachers perceive their collaborative skills while interacting with group members when completing assignments. This research applied a mixed-methods approach to better understand research problems by quantitative and qualitative data. We employ total population sampling to examine the entire population with a particular set of characteristics from 67 people who completed the group project assignment. We analyze and describe the quantitative and qualitative data results to answer preservice teachers' perceptions of their collaborative team working skills during PjBL. We prefer the explanatory design method, where qualitative data is needed to explain the significant quantitative results. As a result, Preservice Teachers' perception shows that during PjBL, they have obtained collaboration skills in teamwork, managing conflicts, decision making, and communication skills. From the interviews, we dig up additional information about their complaints about the difficulty of completing projects and working in teams. However, the benefits of the additional skills they get are more profitable than their challenges. This analysis informs us that Preservice Teachers show a more significant positive response regarding collaboration skills during PjBL. It can be considered to continue to bring up collaboration skills in any given learning approach.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are important in learning because they encompass conceptual understanding and rational decision-making. However, students' critical thinking skills are relatively low, and innovation in physics learning is minimal. Therefore, the ARCS model, supported by brainstorming, was implemented as an intervention. The study aims to identify the effect of the Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction learning model assisted by brainstorming on students' critical thinking skills on alternative energy material in class X of SMA Negeri 1 Cihaurbeuti in the 2024/2025 academic year. The methodological design used is a quasi-experiment with a posttest only control group design structure. The study population includes 12 classes of class X, with purposive sampling of two classes, namely X-6 and X-8. The research measurement instrument is an instrument in the form of a descriptive assessment consisting of six questions arranged to represent all indicators of critical thinking skills. Hypothesis test analysis using the t-test produces a value of  which significantly exceeds the critical threshold of   at the significance level (  =0.05) thus stating that H₀ is rejected. Thus, the Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction model assisted by brainstorming provides a significant contribution to students' critical thinking skills. This study recommends learning using the ARCS model combined with brainstorming methods to improve critical thinking skills and encourage student involvement in formulating ideas or solutions to problems collaboratively. Further research could empirically test the effectiveness of the combination of ARCS and brainstorming on different topics or with variations of other collaborative strategiesCritical thinking skills are important in learning because they encompass conceptual understanding and rational decision-making. Abstract

A preliminary study at SMA Negeri 9 Tasikmalaya revealed that students’ low activity and engagement during the learning process contributed to poor learning outcomes. This was evident from the average score of students’ daily tests, which was 62, below the Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC) of 75, thus categorized as low. This study aims to examine the effect of the Wondering, Exploring, Explaining (WEE) learning model assisted by PhET on students’ cognitive learning outcomes in the topic of global warming among tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 9 Tasikmalaya in the 2023/2024 academic year. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design across nine tenth-grade classes. The sample was determined through purposive sampling, with class X-3 assigned as the experimental group and class X-9 as the control group. Cognitive learning outcomes were measured using an essay test consisting of nine items covering cognitive levels C2, C3, and C4. Hypothesis testing using the t-test at a significance level (α=0.05) showed that , namely 11,5 > 1,67, indicating that  was accepted and is rejected. It can thus be concluded that the WEE learning model assisted by PhET significantly influenced students’ cognitive learning outcomes on the topic of global warming. The findings of this study imply that the WEE learning model assisted by PhET can serve as an effective instructional strategy for teachers to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes and may provide a reference for further research in the development of innovative learning models.

Abstract

21st-century education demands the development of literacy skills, technology utilization, and environmental awareness. One innovation that integrates these three aspects is the development of a School Literacy Forest, a nature-based learning space that integrates literacy activities and environmental education. SMP Islam Nurul Yaqin in Sodonghilir Sub-District, Tasikmalaya Regency has pioneered the "PENGHUNI SEKOLAH" program (School Literacy Forest Development) as a form of commitment to contextual learning. However, the utilization of this literacy forest area is still not optimal due to the lack of educational media, the absence of technology integration, and limited training for teachers and students. This community service activity aims to: Develop the school literacy forest into a technology-based learning space that supports cross-disciplinary learning; Enhance the capacity of teachers and students in utilizing information technology for the management and enrichment of environmental literacy content; Provide digital media such as interactive QR Codes, infographics, and e-literacy content; and Build a digital-based literacy documentation system accessible to the school community and the public. Implementation methods include teacher-student training and mentoring, creation of digital educational media (plant QR Codes, e-books, infographics), installation of temperature and humidity measuring instruments, and creation of a literacy forest location map. Based on the results of the partner response questionnaire distributed to teachers and students of SMP Islam Nurul Yaqin, this community service activity successfully achieved very positive results. Overall, respondents expressed high satisfaction with all the activities and products generated
