Abstract

Cottok Innovation Park (CIP) is a tourist area that develops technology-based educational tourism. CIP is located on a broad hill. This area was in a barren state when the first service activities were carried out at the beginning of development in 2017. The PLN electricity network is also not yet available because it is far from residential areas. Solar-based technology has been applied and developed sustainably at CIP as an effort to be self-sufficient in electrical energy to provide water and lighting. Water is obtained by a solar pump from a groundwater source at a depth of 40 m. Currently, CIP has grown rapidly and provides night tours. The latest community service activities results are off-grid PLTS-based road signs and the CIP icon lamp to support night tourism. A further effect of this sustainable community service activity is the motivation and confidence of village youth to be involved in village development programs as tourist areas and children's education. It has also impacted the decline in the number of poor people in the village of Curah Cottok.

Abstract

Rice price prediction plays a crucial role in maintaining economic stability and food security, especially in East Java, one of Indonesia's major rice production centers. This study aims to forecast premium rice prices in East Java using the ARIMA (AutoRegressive Integrated Moving Average) method. The data utilized in this research comprises premium rice prices obtained from the National Food Agency over the period from March 15, 2021, to October 17, 2024. The analysis process begins with data exploration to identify trends and seasonal patterns in the rice price data. Subsequently, the data is analyzed using ARIMA and LSTM methods, both recognized for their effectiveness in time-series forecasting. The ARIMA(1,1,1) model was selected due to its capability to capture price dynamics through its autoregressive, integrated, and moving average components, making it well-suited for linear data with minimal seasonal variation. LSTM was employed as a comparative model because it is a subset of Machine Learning that integrates computational models and neural network algorithms, offering potential improvements in prediction accuracy. The LSTM model used for prediction consists of four layers, each with 50 neurons, dropout rates of 20% and 30%, and a single output layer representing the predicted price. The results indicate the ARIMA model provides highly accurate price estimates with a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 0.485%, whereas the LSTM model achieves a MAPE of 1.95%. These findings serve as a reference for policymakers and food industry stakeholders in formulating strategic measures to stabilize rice prices in East Java.

Abstract

The development of quadcopter drone technology has progressed rapidly and has been utilized in various fields, including mapping, agriculture, surveillance, and scientific research. In the academic environment, drones play a role not only as objects of study, but also as a medium for learning and developing automated system technology. To support this, a flexible and autonomous drone platform is needed. ArduPilot as an open-source autopilot software, together with the Pixhawk flight controller, is a widely used solution because it supports various features such as waypoint navigation, auto takeoff, and return to launch. The system enables open, modular, and integrative development of UAVs with various sensors. This research aims to design and implement an autonomous quadcopter drone prototype based on ArduPilot and Pixhawk as a means of supporting research and practicum in the campus environment, in order to encourage cross-disciplinary collaboration and readiness to face the industrial era 4.0 and society 5.0.

Abstract

Abstract: Communities in low-lying urban areas have the potential to develop more quickly and sustainably profitable side businesses on limited land. The Kampoeng Oase Ondomohen Tourism Group (Pokdarwis) is pioneering a solar-powered brackishwater crab farming business, which promises higher sales value, shorter harvest times, and lower operational costs than current fish farming. However, partners' skills in managing aquaculture and maintaining solar power systems still need improvement. Methods included lectures, hands-on practice, and focus group discussions (FGDs) to equip 28 participants (Pokdarwis administrators and community members) with theory and technical skills. Pre- and post-test evaluations demonstrated the program's success in comprehensively enhancing partners' capacity. Improvements occurred not only in theoretical knowledge (jumping from 37.5% to 90–95%), but also in practical skills. On average, partners' skill level in operating the system jumped from 15% (pre-test) to 85% (post-test). The most drastic improvements were seen in new skills such as “Performing probiotic cultures” (0% to 80%) and other key skills.
