Abstract

Keterampilan literasi digital merupakan pondasi penting dalam pendidikan abad ke-21 sebagai upaya membentuk peserta didik yang mampu menghadapi tantangan dan peluang di era digital. Upaya melatihkan keterampilan literasi digital dapat dilakukan melalui penggunaan website pembelajaran sebagai media belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan website pembelajaran materi keanekaragaman hayati berbasis potensi lokal Gresik untuk melatihkan keterampilan literasi digital yang layak berdasarkan validitas. Prosedur penelitian terdiri atas tiga tahap yaitu eksplorasi, perancangan, dan penilaian validitas. Kelayakan website diperoleh dari expert judgement meliputi telaah dan penilaian validitas oleh ahli materi, ahli pembelajaran, dan ahli teknologi pendidikan. Instrumen penilaian validitas mencakup 11 butir terdiri dari aspek penyajian, isi, dan kebahasaan website pembelajaran dengan penilaian skala Likert 4 poin, 1-4 (kurang baik-sangat baik). Data validitas dianalisis secara statistik berupa skor rata-rata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa validitas penyajian website memperoleh skor sebesar 3,92, kelayakan isi sebesar 4,00, dan kelayakan bahasa sebesar 3,83, secara keseluruhan memperoleh skor sebesar 3,92 dengan kategori sangat valid. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa website pembelajaran materi keanekaragaman hayati berbasis potensi lokal Gresik dinyatakan layak diterapkan untuk melatihkan keterampilan literasi digital ditinjau dari validitas.

Abstract

The implementation of character education in higher education plays a pivotal role in shaping students with both academic excellence and moral integrity. This literature review explores strategies, challenges, and the impacts of character education across Indonesian universities. Strategies employed include integrating character values into curricula, leveraging religion-based education, utilizing technology, and aligning educational programs with local wisdom. Examples include the use of the AIKA curriculum at Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka and religion-based activities at Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara, which aim to foster traits such as honesty, discipline, and empathy. Additionally, institutions like Universitas Negeri Surabaya have adopted digital-based approaches to instill values relevant to the modern era. Despite these advances, numerous challenges persist. Limited resources, cultural diversity, and inadequate evaluation frameworks hinder the optimal implementation of character education. For instance, the lack of comprehensive assessments of students’ attitudes and behaviors limits the visible impact on character formation. The COVID-19 pandemic further highlighted these challenges by disrupting traditional interaction-based teaching methods, demanding rapid adjustments to online platforms. This study highlights the significant role of local wisdom and religious values in fostering ethical behavior, responsibility, and social care among students. However, it also emphasizes the need for stronger policy support, resource allocation, and innovative approaches to overcome existing challenges. By addressing these gaps, higher education institutions can effectively contribute to the development of graduates who not only excel academically but also embody the principles of ethical leadership and social responsibility.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is characterized by elevated blood glucose levels. Kalakai leaf is one of the plants formulated as a traditional remedy to address Diabetes Mellitus. One of the compounds found in Kalakai leaf extract is flavonoids, which act as antioxidants and help reduce blood glucose levels. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of ethanol extract of Kalakai leaf on blood glucose reduction in male white rats induced by glucose. This experimental study employed a pre-test and post-test control group design. Kalakai leaf was used as the sample, and 15 male white rats were divided into 5 groups, each consisting of 3 rats. Group 1 was given a treatment of CMC suspension, Group 2 received glibenclamide suspension, Group 3 was treated with 50 mg/kgBB of Kalakai leaf ethanol extract, Group 4 received 100 mg/kgBB of Kalakai leaf ethanol extract, and Group 5 was given 150 mg/kgBB of Kalakai leaf ethanol extract. The results of this study showed that Kalakai leaf ethanol extract had an effect on lowering blood glucose levels. However, the extract at a dose of 150 mg/kgBB was more effective in significantly reducing blood glucose levels compared to the 50 mg/kgBB and 100 mg/kgBB doses. This study concludes that Kalakai leaf ethanol extract has the potential to lower blood glucose levels in male white rats induced by glucose.

Abstract

Buildings use 40% of global primary energy, therefore their design and use affect climate change. Building performance analysis can assist architects predict performance before construction with parametric design tools. Radiance can be reduced via a parametric mass, lowering cooling load and energy use. The study uses theoretical and computational research to explain, forecast, and analyze events, whereas parametric design optimizes complicated geometries using mathematical parameters and algorithms. Environmental analysis in Grasshopper with the Ladybug plugin uses Rhinoceros. This plugin provides solar radiation, and climate analysis capabilities. To determine the most energy-efficient building design, the research links independent and dependent variables such solar radiation intensity and building mass. The study uses Surabaya weather data and high rise buildings. The land is formed like a square, with a 15-degree slope to the north and is flanked by low-rise buildings. As a result, the location receives the most direct sunlight during the day. Then, solar radiation analysis. It helps optimize passive solar design solutions. According to the modelling results, solar radiation on the top and west sides are particularly large and dominant in 65.37 and 32.69 kWh/m2. Meanwhile, the north, east and south sides receive very little solar radiation. The following simulation considers the optimal direction, which is to extend west-east and face to the south. A multi-towered megastructure is a high-rise building that responds best to solar radiation. The total solar radiation value is 3,718,100 kWh. It can accommodate large spaces with large mass composition but relatively low total solar radiation values. The building towers provide shade to each other, thereby reducing direct radiation from the sun to the building. The sides of the building's podium are also shaded, so the top of the building is partially red.

Abstract

Abstract The transition to academic life often presents challenges for students who migrate for their studies, particularly in dealing with academic stress. This study aims to examine the relationship between mindfulness and academic stress among first-semester migrant students in Surabaya. A quantitative approach was employed in this research, involving 200 students from various regions in Indonesia as participants. Data collection was conducted using mindfulness and academic stress scales, while the data analysis technique utilized Spearman's Rho correlation. The results showed a significant negative relationship between mindfulness and academic stress (r = -0.347, p < 0.01). This indicates that students with higher levels of mindfulness tend to experience lower levels of academic stress, and vice versa. Thus, the hypothesis stating a negative relationship between mindfulness and academic stress among first-semester migrant students in Surabaya is accepted. Abstrak Transisi ke dunia akademik sering menjadi tantangan bagi mahasiswa perantau, terutama dalam menghadapi stres akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara mindfulness dengan stres akademik pada mahasiswa semester satu perantau di kota Surabaya. Pendekatan kuantitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini, dengan melibatkan 200 mahasiswa Surabaya dari berbagai daerah di Indonesia sebagai partisipan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan skala mindfulness dan stres akademik, sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan korelasi Spearman’s Rho. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara mindfulness dengan stres akademik (r= -0.347, p<0.01). Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa mahasiswa dengan tingkat mindfulness yang lebih tinggi cenderung memiliki tingkat stres akademik yang lebih rendah, begitupun sebaliknya. Dengan demikian, hipotesis yang menyatakan adanya hubungan negatif antara mindfulness dengan stres akademik pada mahasiswa semester satu perantau di Kota Surabaya diterima.

Abstract

A quiet learning environment is essential for supporting concentration and academic productivity. One of the main challenges in library spaces is the presence of noise, which can disrupt user comfort. This study aims to measure and evaluate noise levels in the Library of UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya (UINSA) Gununganyar as part of an effort to improve the acoustic quality of study areas. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, using a Benetech GM1356 sound level meter set to A-weighting (dBA), and data were analyzed using the Equivalent Continuous Sound Level (Leq) method. Measurements were conducted at seven observation points across two floors of the library over three working days (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) and three time intervals (morning, midday, and afternoon), resulting in a total of 252 data points. The results indicate that the first floor recorded an average noise level of 54.57 dB, which remains within the acceptable limit for learning environments (≤55 dB). In contrast, the second floor exhibited a significantly higher average noise level of 61.98 dB, exceeding the recommended threshold by +6.98 dB. The elevated noise levels on the second floor are attributed to its open-plan layout, the absence of acoustic partitions, and furniture arrangements that promote active interaction. To foster a more conducive learning environment, the study recommends spatial reorganization, the installation of acoustic barriers, and the integration of sound-absorbing materials.

Abstract

Bamboo grass (Lophatherum gracile B.) is a type of weed that can be utilized as a medicinal plant. Almost all parts of this plant contain secondary metabolites with potential as herbal medicine. This study was conducted to evaluate the breast cancer (T47D) anticancer activity of bamboo grass using an ultrasonic extraction method. The solvents used in this study were 80% ethanol, n-hexane, and chloroform. All extract samples were tested for their breast cancer (T47D) anticancer activity using the MTT assay. The IC50 values of the 80% ethanol, n-hexane, and chloroform extracts were 218.081; 292.412; and 395.144 ?g/mL, respectively. The TLC separation of tannin compounds from the 80% ethanol extract was identified using FTIR. The identification results showed key absorption peaks of tannin compounds, including O-H alcohol, C-O secondary alcohol, aliphatic C-H, C=C alkene, and ortho-substituted aromatic ring, with corresponding wavenumbers of 3455; 1094; 2963; 2929; 1650; and 780 cm?¹.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui relevansi nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dalam kitab akhlak lil banat dengan santri era millennial. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yakni studi kasus. Lokasi penelitian di madrasah salafiyah V pondok pesantren komplek R krapyak yogyakarta. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara yang dilakukan dengan beberapa santri dan ustadzah pengajar kitab akhlak lil banat. Temuan dalam penelitian ini adalah ada beberapa nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dalam kitab akhlak lil banat, seperti berakhlak, sopan santun, taat, tawadhu’, religius, menghormati, dan kasih sayang. Selain itu dalam relevansinya menunjukkan bahwa santri era millenial menerapkan beberapa nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang terdapat dalam kitab akhlak lil banat. Adaya pengkajian kitab akhlak lil banat untuk membentuk karakter pada diri santri di era millenial. Selain itu, pengkajian kitab akhlak lil banat diharapkan dapat menjadi pengingat, benteng dan sebagai pedoman ketika atau akan melakukan segala sesuatu agar tetap sesuai dengan ajaran ajaran agama Islam.
