Abstract

This Community service program aims to strengthen the Buddhist community's religious, cultural, and spiritual values by implementing Pabbajjā and Upasampadā at Muaro Jambi Temple, a historic Buddhist heritage site in Indonesia. The program is motivated by the need for a learning medium integrating Buddhist teachings with direct experience in a religious and cultural environment. The implementation adopted a participatory and collaborative approach, engaging participants particularly university students in ritual activities, Dharma discussions, and the practice of moral precepts (sīla). The selection of Muaro Jambi Temple also served as a strategy to revitalize the site’s function as a center for spiritual cultivation and cultural preservation. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of the Dharma, adherence to moral precepts, and awareness of the importance of Buddhist cultural heritage. The program fostered the development of religious character and cultural identity, enhancing participants’ commitment to preserving the noble values of Buddhism within the local context. Furthermore, it opened opportunities for the development of history-based religious tourism. In conclusion, this PKM effectively integrates religious education, character building, and cultural preservation. Its sustainability requires multi-stakeholder support to ensure that the values, history, and spirituality of the Nusantara heritage are preserved authentically and meaningfully.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and empirically test a strategic model for enhancing faculty publication performance at Buddhist Higher Education Institutions in Indonesia, which continue to face challenges related to the productivity and quality of scientific publications. Specifically, the study examines the effects of research culture, compensation, and mindful leadership on faculty publication performance, both directly and indirectly through research motivation as a mediating variable. A quantitative explanatory research design was employed, involving 157 faculty members from 12 Buddhist Higher Education Institutions in Indonesia. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with the assistance of SmartPLS 3.0 software. The findings reveal that research culture, compensation, and mindful leadership have positive and significant effects on research motivation and faculty publication performance. Furthermore, research motivation is confirmed to mediate the relationships between the three independent variables and faculty publication performance. This study concludes that strengthening research culture, implementing a fair compensation system, and adopting mindful leadership practices are key strategic approaches to enhancing research motivation and faculty publication performance in Buddhist Higher Education Institutions in Indonesia. Keywords: Research culture; mindful leadership; compensation; research motivation; faculty publication performance; Buddhist higher education institutions in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of employee well-being on employee retention. A quantitative survey method was employed to collect data from 154 employees out of a population of 250 in an agricultural product processing company. A five-point Likert-scale questionnaire, validated and tested for reliability, served as the primary instrument for data collection. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including simple linear regression at a 0.05 significance level using SPSS version 24.0. The results revealed a significant and positive relationship between employee well-being and retention. Employees who experience a higher sense of well-being are likelier to remain with the company. Furthermore, longer tenure is associated with more stable levels of well-being and retention. These findings underscore the importance of prioritizing employee well-being as a strategic approach to fostering loyalty and minimizing turnover. Targeted managerial interventions, particularly during critical tenure periods, are essential for cultivating a sustainable and healthy work environment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the effect of mindful walking practices on the development of prosocial behavior among students at Ekayana Ehipassiko School. Prosocial behavior, which includes empathy, willingness to help, cooperation, and participation in social activities, is a crucial aspect in shaping students' character. The focus of this study is motivated by several problems identified in the school environment, including the tendency of students to be reluctant to help friends who are experiencing academic difficulties, a lack of empathy for the emotional problems of others, a preference for working independently rather than collaborating in groups, and low participation in social activities such as community service and mutual cooperation. In addition, the learning methods that have been applied so far are considered not optimal in fostering prosocial attitudes in students. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with a survey method. The research sample consisted of 91 students distributed across three grade levels, namely 32 seventh-grade students, 35 eighth-grade students, and 24 ninth-grade students. Data collection was conducted during the 2024/2025 academic year using research instruments designed to measure the level of mindfulness after practicing mindful walking and students' prosocial behavior tendencies. The results of the statistical analysis showed significant findings. The t-value of 11.597 with a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05) indicates a strong influence between mindful walking and an increase in prosocial behavior. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.602 reveals that 60.2% of the variation in students' prosocial behavior can be explained by the practice of mindful walking, while the remaining 39.8% is influenced by external factors such as family environment, parenting patterns, or peer influence. These findings strengthen the empirical evidence that mindfulness-based interventions such as mindful walking can be an effective strategy in fostering prosocial attitudes among students.

Abstract

This study aimed to find the effect of multicultural leadership on religious moderation in student studies. The problems that occur are minority students feeling inferior, lack of awareness of the importance of respecting and accepting religious differences, lack of instillation of multicultural values and religious moderation, the presence of multi-ethnic students, the deepening of faith from students facilitated by the school, fair treatment of minority students. This study uses a quantitative approach, with the Random Sampling survey method, using a random system. A proportional allocation of 96 samples of 28 students was carried out to determine the sample size in each class. This study was conducted in a Private School with student respondents in the 2023/2024 academic year. The study showed a significant favorable influence between multicultural leadership and religious moderation with a t count of -17.559 and a significance value (p) of 0.001 <0.05. The simple regression analysis calculation results obtained the R Square value as 0.828. Multicultural leadership influences religious moderation by 82.8%, and other factors affect the remaining 17.2%.
