Abstract

Character education is very essential. Good character brings peace, happiness and peace of mind, both personally and socially, even for the nation. Character education reflection is shown in many puppet shows. Wayang as a spectacle and guidance. Wayang as a spectacle is for entertainment, while as a guidance is a vehicle for character education. Which is indeed full of character education. The data source of this research was "Banjaran Bima Play" in the video of Ki Seno Nugroho's puppet show, and is done by exploring and collaborating character education in the Banjaran Bima puppet play and its implications in education. This research used an instrument in the form of data cards. Data collection was done through the stages of observing, transcribing, identifying, and coding. The data validity was established through in-depth observation, repeated studies, extended participation, peer discussions, and source triangulation. Data analysis technique used the steps of classification, description, interpretation, elaboration, and conclusion. The results of the study show the character of (1) Godhead, (2) obedient to teachers and parents, (3) nationalism, (4) integrity, (5) responsibility, (6) discipline, (7) respect for others, ( 8) independent, (9) mutual cooperation, (10) hard worker, and (11) smart. These various characters can be implicated in the field of education, both at the education center (informal, formal and non-formal) and at every level of education (elementary school to university). This is evidenced that these characters are always contained in the Education Curriculum in Indonesia since 1947 to 2013 with various developments. Keywords: character, puppet, Banjaran Bima, spectacle, guidance,  PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DALAM LAKON BAJARAN BIMA DAN IMPLIKASINYA  DALAM PENDIDIKAN Pendidikan karakter amatlah penting. Karakter baik membawa kedamaian, kebahagiaan, dan ketenteraman jiwa, baik secara personal maupun sosial, bahkan bagi bangsa dan negara. Pendidikan karakter banyak ditentukan dalam pertunjukan wayang. Wayang sebagai tontonan dan tuntunan. Sebagai tontonan wayang untuk hiburan, sebagai tuntutan wayang sebagai wahana pendidikan karakter.  Sumber data penelitian adalah Lakon Banjaran Bima dalam video pagelaran wayang oleh Ki Seno Nugroho dengan mengeksplorasi dan mengalobari pendidikan karakter dalam lakon wayang  Banjaran Bima dan implikasinya pendidikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen yang berupa kartu data. Pemerolehan data melalui tahapan mengamati, mentranskripsi, mengidentifikasi, dan kodifikasi. Keabsahan data menggunakan pengamatan yang mendalam/cermat, kajian berulang, perpanjangan keikutsertaan, diskusi teman sejawat, triangulasi sumber.  Analisis data menggunakan langkah klasifikasi, deskripsi, interpretasi, elaborasi, dan inferensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakter (1) Berketuhanan, (2) patuh pada guru dan orang tua, (3) nasionalisme, (4) integritas, (5) bertanggung jawab, (6) kedisiplinan, (7) menghormati orang lain, (8) mandiri, (9) gotong royong, (10) pekerja keras, dan (11) cerdas. Berbagai karakter tersebut dapat diimplikasikan dalam bidang pendidikan, baik pada tripusat pendidikan (informal, formal, dan nonformal) maupun pada setiap jenjang pendidikan (Sekolah Dasar  hingga Perguruan Tinggi). Hal ini dibuktikan bahwa karakter-karakter tersebut selalu termuat dalam Kurikulum Pendidikan di Indonesia semenjak 1947 hingga 2013 dengan mengalami berbagai perkembangan. Kata kunci: karakter, wayang, Banjaran Bima, tontonan, tuntunan

Abstract

This study aims to examine the existence of cultural aspects and the meaning of botanical symbols in the short story Mendem Jarak. The research method used is literary anthropology. The primary data source is the short story Mendem Jarak by Muhammad Taufiq Syarif. Data collection is conducted through reading and note-taking techniques. The data analysis employs literary anthropology techniques. The research findings reveal cultural phenomena emerging in the short story Mendem Jarak including 1) cultural ideologies, 2) cultural practices, and 3) cultural materials. Cultural ideologies regarding the antidote for jarak fruit (Jatropha plant) poisoning in the short story Mendem Jarak uncover the utilization of young coconut water (degan), processed coconut products such as klentik oil, and the sap of the jarak plant to counteract the effects of jarak fruit seeds' poison. Cultural practices demonstrate collaborative efforts and problem-solving activities regarding jarak fruit seed poisoning. Additionally, cultural materials involve the jarak plant as a symbol of disaster for the community due to its poisonous nature. Nevertheless, the community relies on their knowledge of treating jarak fruit poisoning victims with simple remedies, such as utilizing young coconut water, processed coconut products (klentik water), and jarak tree sap. The short story Mendem Jarak reflects the lives of a community closely connected with reality; portraying children with a strong sense of curiosity and the communal spirit prevalent in rural areas. The short story Mendem Jarak depicts the traditional knowledge of the community in using plants as medicine. Thus, the anthropobotanical perspective enriches the point of view in literary studies.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji wujud budaya dan makna simbol botani dalam cerita cekak Mendem Jarak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu antropologi sastra. Sumber data penelitian yakni cerita cekak Mendem Jarak karya Muhammad Taufiq Syarif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik baca dan catat. Adapun analisis data menggunakan teknik antropologi sastra. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh ialah gejala kebudayaan yang muncul dalam cerita cekak Mendem Jarak meliputi 1) ideologi budaya, 2) tindakan budaya, dan 3) materi budaya. Ideologi budaya penawar keracunan buah jarak dalam cerita cekak Mendem Jarak mengungkap fakta penggunaan air buah kelapa muda (degan), produk olahan buah kelapa berupa minyak klentik, dan getah tumbuhan jarak untuk menghilangkan efek racun dari biji buah jarak. Tindakan budaya menunjukkan aktivitas kerja sama dan aktivitas mengatasi masalah keracunan biji buah jarak. Adapun materi budaya yakni tumbuhan jarak sebagai simbol sumber petaka bagi masyarakat karena mengandung racun. Meskipun demikian, masyarakat mempercayai pengetahuan mereka terhadap para korban keracunan buah jarak dengan konsep pengobatan sederhana, yakni dengan memanfaatkan air buah kelapa muda, olahan buah kelapa (lenga klentik), dan getah pohon jarak. Cerita cekak Mendem Jarak merefleksikan kehidupan masyarakat yang lekat sekali dengan kehidupan nyata; anak-anak yang rasa ingin tahunya tinggi dan rasa kebersamaan masyarakat di perdesaan. Cerita cekak Mendem Jarak melukiskan pengetahuan tradisional masyarakat untuk memanfaatkan tumbuhan sebagai obat. Dengan demikian, perspektif antropobotani sastra memperkaya sudut pandang dalam pengkajian sastra.

Abstract

Bahasa Jawa Jombangan atau biasa disebut variasi Jombangan merupakan sebuah variasi bahasa yang dituturkan di daerah Jombang dan sekitarnya. Variasi bahasa Jombangan memiliki banyak variasi dipengaruhi oleh variasi bahasa Surabaya yang terkenal blak-blakan. Variasi Jombangan merupakan peralihan dari dua variasi bahasa Jawa, yaitu variasi bahasa Surabaya dan variasi bahasa Mataraman. Fenomena tersebut merupakan latar belakang penelitian. Tujuan penelitian ini, yaitu menggali perbedaan leksikal, dan perbedaan afiksasi, antara variasi bahasa Jawa Jombangan dan variasi Bahasa Jawa standar dalam penggunaan bahasa keseharian. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Sumber data pada hasil identifikasi draf Kamus Basa Njombangan yang sudah ditulis oleh Dian Sukarno dan hasil dari menggali beberapa narasumber informan dari penduduk asli Jombang yang berusia lanjut dan sesuai dengan aspek informan sebagai sumber penelitian. Data penelitian bahasa Njombangan, bahasa Jawa standar dan makna kata bahasa Jawa. Hasil ditemukan perbedaan leksikal dan perbedaan afiksasi. Perbedaan leksikal, yaitu perbedaan pada: penggunaan kata yang berbeda, perbedaan pengucapan, dan perbedaan kata ulang. Adapun perbedaan afiksasi terbagi menjadi tiga, yaitu perbedaan pada: prefiks, sufiks dan konfiks. Hal ini merupakan bukti pemertahanan, variasi bahasa daerah dan pelestarian bahasa daerah dalam penggunaan di masyarakat. Hal ini mendukung sloganTrigatra bangun bahasa yang dicetuskan oleh Badan Pengembangan dan Pembinaan Bahasa Kemendikbudristek, yaitu utamakan bahasa Indonesia, lestarikan bahasa daerah dan kuasai bahasa asing.

Abstract

This study aims to improve reading skills through the application of the Iqro 'method and in particular to determine the improvement of students' skills in reading Javanese characters in class VII students of SMPN 1 Banyudono Boyolali. The subjects of this study were teachers and students of class VII SMPN 1 Banyudono Boyolali, while what was observed in this study was fluency and thoroughness which led to students' skills in reading Javanese script and student activities in learning. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The data were analyzed using an interactive analysis model which consisted of examining all the data that had been collected, reducing the data, and making conclusions. The results showed an increase in reading skills. Prior to the implementation of the measures obtained by the average value of 63.03 with 29% completeness study, in the first cycle the average value obtained with mastery learning 68.07 79%, and the second cycle increased reading skills significant value an average of 74.96 and mastery learning 93%. Based on the results of this study, it was concluded that learning with the application of the Iqro 'Aksara method could improve the reading skills of Javanese script students of class VII SMPN 1 Banyudono Odd Semester 2022/2023.

Abstract

The vocal beauty play a vital role in the master of ceremonies (MC) profession. This study explores and elaborates the vocal exercises of MCs in Javanese weddings. The data were collected by recording the speeches of three leading MCs in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. In this study, the researcher was the key instrument. The data were validated by material experts and ten MCs from Yogyakarta MC Community (Paguyuban Pranatacara Yogyakarta, PPY) in a focus group discussion (FGD). The ethnopoetic analysis was carried out focusing on the beauty of the text and vocal. While the text was described descriptively, the vocal was elaborated using notation. The data analysis steps included transcription, identification, codification, classification, description and interpretation, elaboration, and inference. The findings show that (1) vocal exercises are more important than linguistic and literary, physical, or wear-matching exercises; (2) vocal exercises can be done both physically and mechanically; (3) vocal exercises depend on the wedding ceremony type/style, situation, and the existence of gending (Javanese orchestral composition); (4) there are three main types of vocal exercises: lamba song, candra song, and tembang (sung poerty); (5) lamba can be sung by MC in many different ceremonies, situations, places, laras (scale), pathet (mode), and gending; (6) candra song has to be accompanied by gending, either ladrang or ketawang; (7) tembang can be performed in solo, semi-collaboration, or collaboration; and (9) polyharmony occurs when there is a harmony among MC's tones, gamelan's laras and tones, and waranggana's (female singers) tones.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Javanese culture is an ancestral heritage that must be preserved in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0. This study aims to enhance the understanding of Javanese culture among low-average students through the use of technology, specifically the Wordwall application. The method used in this study is classroom action research. The research subjects were low-average students at SMP Hamong Putera Yogyakarta, with a sample size of 16 students. Data were collected through IQ tests and students’ learning outcome assessments. The data were analyzed descriptively, covering four elements of traditional ceremonies: (1) the location where the ceremony takes place, (2) the time of the ceremony, (3) the objects or items needed for the ceremony, and (4) the figures involved in the ceremony. The results of the study indicate that efforts to improve cultural understanding using the Wordwall application led to a majority of correct responses among low-average students at SMP Hamong Putera. Therefore, the researcher’s efforts have proven effective in implementing a strategy to enhance understanding of Javanese culture through the topic of traditional ceremonies. ABSTRAK Budaya Jawa merupakan suatu warisan leluhur yang harus dilestarikan pada era Revolusi Industri 4.0 dan Society 5.0 ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan peningkatan pemahaman budaya Jawa terhadap peserta didik Low Average dengan pemanfaatan teknologi berupa aplikasi Wordwall. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian yakni peserta didik Low Average di SMP Hamong Putera Yogyakarta, dengan sampel sebanyak 16 anak. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara tes IQ dan tes hasil belajar peserta didik. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif yang mencakup empat unsur upacara tradisi, yaitu: (1) tempat pelaksanaan upacara, (2) waktu berlangsungnya upacara, (3) benda atau barang yang dibutuhkan dalam upacara, (4) tokoh yang terlibat di dalamnya. Hasil pada penelitian menunjukkan bahwa upaya peningkatan pemahaman budaya yang ditujukan pada peserta didik Low Average di SMP Hamong Putera menggunakan aplikasi wordwall didominasi oleh jawaban yang benar. Dengan demikian, upaya yang dilakukan oleh peneliti terbukti dapat mewujudkan strategi peningkatan pemahaman budaya Jawa melalui materi upacara tradisi.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Javanese plays an important role in preserving local culture, but students' interest in learning it has declined due to external influences. Therefore, teachers need to bring innovative and enjoyable learning methods, such as using the game basic learning model, which encourages active interaction through games. This model allows students to engage interactively in the learning process through gameplay. Along with technological advancements, there are now many educational games that can be used, such as Froggy Jumps and Kahoot. This research was conducted in class XII Multimedia 4 at SMK Wachid Hasyim Surabaya. The purpose of this study is to examine students’ enthusiasm in the implementation of game-based learning in Javanese language lessons, specifically on anecdotal text material. It also aims to motivate students to participate actively in Javanese lessons and encourage other teachers to apply this method in their teaching. The research method used was qualitative, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and tests. The results of the study show that many students were enthusiastic and interactive during the lessons. An analysis of the students’ scores in class XII Multimedia 4 revealed an improvement between the pre-test and post-test results. The implementation of game-based learning can enhance students' enthusiasm in learning Javanese, regardless of their backgrounds, as long as the teacher applies the right and innovative methods. ABSTRAK Bahasa Jawa berperan penting dalam melestarikan budaya lokal, namun minat peserta didik terhadap pembelajarannya menurun akibat pengaruh luar. Oleh karena itu, guru perlu menghadirkan inovasi pembelajaran yang menyenangkan, seperti menggunakan model game basic learning yang mendorong interaksi aktif melalui permainan. Pada pembelajaran dengan model tersebut peserta didik diajak untuk menjadi interaktif dalam menerima pelajaran melalui permainan. Diiringi dengan majunya teknologi maka sekarang banyak game edukatif yang bisa digunakan salah satunya froggy jumps dan kahoot. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada kelas XII Multimedia 4 di SMK Wachid Hasyim Surabaya. Tujuan diadakan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui antusiasme peserta didik dalam implementasi game based learning pada pembelajaran Bahasa Jawa materi teks anekdot. Selain itu agar peserta didik semangat dalam mengikuti pembelajaran Bahasa Jawa, serta guru-guru yang lain bisa menerapkan metode ini dalam pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data observasi, wawancara, dan test. Hasil dari penelitian ini banyak peserta didik yang antusias serta interaktif pada saat pembelajaran. Analisis nilai peserta didik kelas XII Multimedia 4 pada data yang telah diuji memiliki hasil peningkatan antara pre-test dengan post- test. Penerapan game based learning dapat meningkatkan antusiasme peserta didik dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Jawa, terlepas dari latar belakang mereka, asalkan guru menggunakan metode yang tepat dan inovatif.

Abstract

Since the Jatisari Agreement on Saturday, 15 February 1755, sectoral cultural legitimacy has occurred for the Kraton Surakarta Hadiningrat, including the holding of a Javanese wedding ceremony. The holding of the wedding ceremony is supported by the master of ceremony (MC/pewara) who is usually called pranatacara. This study focuses on the speech styles of the Javanese wedding ceremony attendants in the Surakarta style. Data sources were professional MC at the Surakarta style wedding ceremony (1) who came from Surakarta, totaling 3 people, and (2) who came from Surakarta but became MC in Yogyakarta, totaling 3 people. Data taken from youtube. Data validity with source triangulation and data saturation. Data were analyzed by stages of data selection, categorization, comparison, synthesis, and interpretation (McMillan & Schumacher, 2001). The results of the study show that the Surakarta style pewara has three speech styles, namely lamba songs, lamba rinengga songs, and candra songs. The style of speech is recorded in the form of audio and video. Patented research results that can be guided by the wardens. The results of the research were disseminated to PEPARI (Indonesian Pewara Association), PPY (Yogyakarta Pranatacara Association), and HARPI (Yogyakarta Association of Bridal Makeup Experts).
