Abstract

Abstract

Effective school leadership is central to the development of teacher professionalism and organizational discipline, yet qualitative evidence from Islamic secondary schools remains limited. This study investigated how school leadership strengthened teacher work discipline at MTs Negeri 2 Pesawaran, Indonesia. The study used a qualitative descriptive field design and drew on semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation, and document analysis. The revised manuscript reports a purposive sample consisting of the madrasah head, the vice principal for curriculum, and teachers who were directly involved in daily instructional management. Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with credibility supported by source and technique triangulation. The findings converged on three interrelated leadership pathways. First, the madrasah head directed teachers through clear attendance regulations, supervisory routines, duty allocation, and regular coordination meetings. Second, leadership was enacted through mentoring practices, including evaluation meetings, performance agreements, professional guidance, and collaborative problem solving. Third, the madrasah head functioned as an exemplary role model by demonstrating punctuality, open communication, recognition of teacher achievements, and active participation in school programs. Collectively, these practices strengthened punctuality, accountability, professional commitment, and a collaborative school culture. The study suggests that leadership in madrasah settings is most effective when administrative control is combined with ethical example, participatory communication, and sustained professional support. These findings contribute context-specific insight into how leadership mechanisms shape work discipline in Islamic educational institutions and provide practical direction for school leaders seeking to reinforce teacher accountability in comparable settings.

Abstract

This study analyzes discipline and honesty character values in the animated film Titipo season 3 episode 10 "This Is Not Fair Manny" using Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic triangle approach (sign, object, interpretant). Employing a qualitative descriptive method, primary data from dialogues, visual scenes, questionnaires from 21 fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Gandikan, and interviews with fourth-grade teacher Ibu Levina Ayu Lestari, S.Pd., were analyzed to uncover verbal and nonverbal signs embodying these values. Findings reveal discipline portrayed through Diesel's team responsibility, Manny's perseverance in training to overcome fears, and Diesel's resilience against obstacles; while honesty is depicted via Manny's emotional admission about the rhinoceros, Diesel's frustration outburst, Greeny's clarification, and Manny's apology fostering trust. Titipo proves effective as an elementary school learning medium due to its dynamic visuals captivating digital-native children, enabling repeated imitation of positive values, though teacher supervision is essential. Student questionnaires (average agreement) and teacher interviews affirm Titipo's potential as an innovative character education alternative, aligning with Indonesia's National Education System Law No. 20/2003.

Abstract

Growing public awareness of healthy lifestyles is driving demand for natural, nutrient-rich fruit-based beverages. However, many juice products on the market still contain added sugar and water, which reduce their nutritional value. This study aims to analyze JuiceYo’s value proposition and its role in the development of the healthy beverage industry in Makassar. The methodology employed is qualitative descriptive analysis through the implementation of a business plan, market validation, and analysis of the Business Model Canvas (BMC) and Value Proposition Canvas (VPC). Data was collected through business observations, production trials, and consumer feedback surveys. The results indicate that JuiceYo’s primary advantage lies in its 100% pure juice products, free from added sugar, water, or preservatives, processed using the cold-pressed method to preserve nutritional content. Market validation revealed that the majority of consumers are dissatisfied with juices that are too sweet and watery, making this product well-suited to their needs. The target market includes urban residents, particularly Generation Z and millennials aged 20–34. With a price of Rp23,000 per bottle and a sales target of 196 bottles per month, JuiceYo has strong market potential. Optimizing the value proposition has proven crucial for enhancing competitiveness and business sustainability.
