Abstract

upplementary Feeding (PMT) is a vital service at Integrated Healthcare Centers (Posyandu) that requires balanced nutritional content and varied preparations. Therefore, training on innovative PMT preparation for healthcare cadres is essential. This community service activity aimed to develop innovative PMT based on fish and vegetable preparations, featuring balanced nutrition and an appealing taste. This activity involved eight cadres from the Sedap Malam Integrated Healthcare Center and was conducted in three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The preparation stage identified partner needs, while the implementation included material delivery and hands-on practice. At the end of the activity, an organoleptic test was conducted on the resulting products. The organoleptic test results showed a high acceptance rate for the fish-based PMT innovation, with an average preference score of 84.4% for taste, color, and texture. This product can serve as a solution for fulfilling toddler nutrition. Similar activities should be developed involving various parties, such as the government, universities, and the private sector.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the knowledge of women of childbearing age and the use of IUD contraceptives at the Sehati Clinic in Medan in 2024. This study used an analytical survey design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study was women of childbearing age who used IUD contraceptives, with a total population of 30 people. The results of this study indicate that the majority of women of reproductive age have insufficient knowledge, with 12 individuals (40.0%) falling into this category. A minority of WRA, 6 individuals (20.0%), have adequate knowledge. The majority of WUS who used IUD contraceptives were 14 people (46.7%), and the minority of WUS who did not use IUD contraceptives were 16 people (53.3%). There is a relationship between the knowledge of women of reproductive age and the use of IUD contraceptives at the confidence level where the p-value is 0.004<0.05. Therefore, the conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between the knowledge of women of reproductive age (WRA) and the use of IUD contraceptives at the Sehati Clinic in 2024. It is recommended that women of reproductive age (WRA) always participate in health education sessions provided by healthcare workers and seek more information about the effectiveness of IUD so that their knowledge can continue to improve.

Abstract

The Javan gibbon (Hylobates moloch) is a primate endemic to Java Island that plays a crucial ecological role as a seed disperser and indicator of rainforest health. This study aims to analyze the daily behavioral patterns of the Javan gibbon (Hylobates moloch) at the ex-situ conservation site Lombok Wildlife Park to assess its expression of natural behaviors and welfare conditions. The research was conducted from September 2024 to January 2025 using the ad libitum observation method on a single male individual. Observations were carried out once daily from 09:00 to 17:00 for seven consecutive days each week. Data were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively through ethogram presentation and frequency percentage calculations of behavioral occurrences. The results showed a dominance of arboreal locomotion behaviors: brachiation occurred 126 times (38.77%), climbing 47 times (14.46%), and descending 43 times (13.23%). Foraging and social behaviors were moderately observed feeding 27 times (8.31%) and playing 26 times (8.00%) while self-maintenance (grooming) occurred 13 times (4.00%) and resting 15 times (4.62%). Excretion frequency was low: urination 6 times (1.85%) and defecation 2 times (0.62%). These findings indicate that the enclosure structure supports natural arboreal behavior, but additional foraging stimulation and enrichment are needed to prevent boredom and enhance long-term welfare. Recommendations include improving environmental enrichment complexity, regular evaluation of vertical structures, and further research on Javan gibbon welfare standards in ex-situ conservation facilities.

Abstract

Tourism is a recreational activity carried out with the intention of breaking away from the daily routine for a while. The tourist village is a combination of natural attractions, culture and creativity of the local community, supported by facilities that can attract tourists to visit the place. Prabu Village is one of the tourist destinations in Pujut District, Central Lombok. Even though it has advantages in natural beauty, unfortunately Prabu Village is still lacking in management and public awareness of the importance of existing tourism potential. Therefore, Unram Thematic KKN participants carried out community service in Prabu village with the theme 'Tourism and the Environment'. The purpose of this service is to introduce the tourism potentials in Prabu Village to the wider community. One of the programs carried out was by making a promotional video for Prabu Village which explained all the potential that the village had. Videos that have been made are then published on various social media (Youtube, Instagram, etc.), websites, and video platforms. With an effective promotional video, Prabu Tourism Village is expected to become an attractive tourist destination for both local and international tourists.

Abstract

Introduction: The Festival Anak Ceria Berbakat (FACB) is part of the TAO I-LAND UINSU 2025 community service program conducted in Gunung Tua Julu Village. The activity was designed as a platform to nurture children’s talents and interests through educational, religious, and recreational events. It emerged from the community’s need for a creative and constructive space that fosters self-confidence, creativity, and positive character development among children. Objective: This study aims to describe the implementation process of FACB as a medium for developing children’s potential in rural areas, to assess community participation, and to identify the festival’s impact on children’s confidence, skills, and social attitudes. Method: A qualitative descriptive method was employed through observation, interviews, and documentation during the festival. The participants included KKN student organizers, village officials, parents, and children. Data were analyzed descriptively to provide a comprehensive picture of the planning, implementation, and outcomes of the activity. Result: The results showed that the FACB received strong enthusiasm from both children and the community. Various competitions, such as Qur’an recitation, adzan calling, fashion show, Islamic speech (pildacil), quiz contests, and coloring activities, served not only as entertainment but also as a medium for moral, religious, and emotional education. The program successfully enhanced children’s creativity, social interaction, and confidence, while fostering stronger community engagement. Conclusion: The implementation of FACB demonstrates that community service programs can effectively empower local communities and build children’s character, religiosity, and creativity. This initiative provides a practical example of how collaboration among students, educational institutions, and communities can create meaningful and sustainable educational spaces for rural child development.

Abstract

Menstruation is an important indicator of women’s reproductive health and is frequently disrupted during adolescence due to physiological adaptation and multiple external factors. This study aims to identify and synthesize the determinants influencing menstrual cycle regularity among adolescent girls based on recent research evidence. A Scoping Review was conducted according to PRISMA guidelines, using articles published between 2021–2025 from PubMed, Scopus, Science Direct, and Wiley databases. Eight eligible studies were analyzed narratively under three main categories: psychological, physiological, and lifestyle factors. Findings indicate that stress is the most dominant factor associated with menstrual cycle disturbances through hypothalamic–pituitary–ovarian (HPO) axis dysfunction. Physiological factors such as high body mass index (BMI), obesity, and hormonal imbalance were significantly correlated with irregular cycles and increased risk of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Unhealthy lifestyle behaviors, including sleep duration of <6 hours, high-fat intake, and excessive physical activity, further contributed to irregularities. Poor sleep quality and unbalanced diet disrupted the circadian rhythm and hormonal regulation of the reproductive system. Overall, menstrual irregularities result from an interaction of biological, psychological, and behavioral factors, most of which are modifiable. Comprehensive reproductive health education and healthy lifestyle interventions are crucial to prevent and manage menstrual disorders. Further longitudinal studies are recommended to strengthen causal evidence among variables
