Abstract

Real Work Lecture (KKN) is one form of community service activities by universities carried out by students under the guidance of lecturers and local government leaders. Through KKN, students can apply the knowledge they have acquired in college into real life. KKN-T students who have the post in Lerang Village made a work program in the form of “Eight” Social Service activities (Delta Cares for the Environment). Social service is an activity carried out by individuals or groups as a form of concern for the surrounding environment. Social service is carried out by cleaning the environment. The targets of social service activities are mosques, village offices, fields and the surrounding environment. In general, the “eight” social service activities (Delta Cares for the Environment) went well and smoothly. and get full support from the community and with this social service activity, it is hoped that the community will have the motivation to keep the environment clean.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi sangat pesat, termasuk internet memberikan dampak yang besar pada semua aspek, termasuk dalam dunia bisnis dan pemasaran. Saat ini sudah banyak perusahaan atau individu yang menggunakan internet sebagai media pemasaran dan bisnis. Hal ini tentunya akan berdampak pada perilaku orang-orang di masyarakat membeli barang untuk memenuhi kebutuhan barang dan jasa. Tim KKNT UNM Desa Lerang melalui salah satu program kerjanya yaitu Seminar Kewirausahaan memberitahukan pentingnya berwirausaha pada anak muda dan orang tua. Seminar Kewirausahaan yang ditujukan untuk masyarakat Desa Lerang. Seminar Kewirausahaan ini dilakukan dengan tujuan yaitu sebagai saran untuk menalin serta meningkatkan komunikasi dan silaturahmi antara semua masyarakat dengan Tim KKNT UNM Desa Lerang sebagai wadah untuk mendorong semangat jiwa berwirausaha dalam Era Society 5.0 Seminar Kewirausahaan mengusung konsep dengan tema Penggunaan Teknologi untuk Menumbuhkan Jiwa Berwirausaha yang dilaksanakan di MI DDI Kaloang yang dapat memuat banyak masyarakat agar kegiatan ini dapat berjalan dengan baik. Selain itu, kegiatan ini diikuti oleh masyarakat Desa Lerang dominan diikuti oleh anak muda dan orang tua.

Abstract

Critical mathematical thinking is inevitable in becoming a concerned citizen and an active part of modern society. Such knowledge would improve understanding of the learning mathematics process and suggest better teaching methods, which is especially crucial for teaching civic knowledge. This research develops mathematics learning tools and investigates the effectiveness of implementing the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Learning (PMRI) approach based on civic mathematics in grade VII of Senior High School in the odd semester of 2024/2025. The learning tools in this study allow students to see issues in social contexts and relate them to mathematics. This study involved one participant teacher and 25 student participants. Action research and mixed methods were used in this research. This approach has allowed teachers and students to increase their activities in learning mathematics and improving students’ mathematics achievement. Before implementing the approach, students completed only nine students or 36%; in the first cycle, the student's achievement increased to 16 students or 64%; in the second cycle, 23 students, or 88%, had met the completeness. Also, by designing materials that link mathematics education with citizenship education, based on an interdisciplinary basis, this research provides a new important example of the transfer of mathematical roles. In this study, mathematics education is allocated to its role in efforts to build a democratic society.

Abstract

This study employs a pre-experimental quantitative research design using a one-group pretest-posttest approach to examine the impact of the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) cooperative learning model on students' engagement and mathematics learning outcomes. The study population consists of Class IX students at SMP Negeri 1 Bontonompo during the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The sample was selected using cluster random sampling. Data was collected through three instruments: A student engagement questionnaire, A mathematics learning outcome test, and an observation sheet on lesson implementation. The data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods. The descriptive analysis revealed the following key findings: The implementation of the TPS model was highly effective, with an application rate of 91.44%. Student engagement improved, as indicated by an increase in average pretest and posttest scores from 173.76 to 193.04, categorized as a moderate improvement. Mathematics learning outcomes significantly increased, with average pretest and posttest scores rising from 8.88 to 79.20. The average normalized gain was 0.77, and 80% of students achieved mastery learning. Inferential statistical analysis confirmed that the Think-Pair-Share cooperative learning model positively impacts student engagement and mathematics learning outcomes of powers and roots topic for Class IX students at SMP Negeri 1 Bontonompo

Abstract

This study aims to examine the profile of teachers’ Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) in mathematics instruction. The type of research employed is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The research subjects consisted of two Grade VIII mathematics teachers at UPT SMPN 2 Takalar. The instruments used for data collection included a self-assessment questionnaire, observation sheets, field notes, and interview guidelines. The data analysis techniques consisted of: (1) data organization, (2) data presentation, and (3) conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the mathematics teachers’ TPACK is at a very good level, particularly in the areas of developing teaching modules, assessment, classroom management, selecting appropriate technology or instructional media, mastering subject matter, and integrating technological, pedagogical, and content aspects. However, in terms of implementation, several areas need improvement. These include deficiencies in the components of the teaching modules, teaching practices that are not fully aligned with the prepared modules, and instructional methods and strategies that have not been fully optimized to support the effectiveness of learning and students' understanding of statistical content. The process of guiding discussions and question-and-answer sessions needs to be further optimized to encourage more active student participation and promote independent understanding. While the teachers have demonstrated the ability to use technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge separately, there is still a need to enhance the integration of all three components simultaneously in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of implementing the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model with a STEM approach in enhancing students' mathematical creative thinking skills on the topic of curved-surface solids. The method used is a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design, involving 33 students from Class IX.7 at SMP Negeri 1 Pinrang. Data were collected through creative thinking ability tests, student response questionnaires, and observation sheets of the learning implementation. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ mathematical creative thinking abilities after the application of the PjBL-STEM model, with the average score increasing from 40.58 to 83.23 and an average N-Gain score of 0.71. A total of 60.61% of students reached the "very creative" category, while 39.39% were in the "creative" category. The paired sample t-test revealed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.05). Thus, the integration of the PjBL model with the STEM approach proved to be effective in improving students’ mathematical creativity through contextual, collaborative, and meaningful project-based learning.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology offers significant opportunities to improve the quality of education, particularly in mathematics, which is often perceived as a difficult and tedious subject. One innovation that can be utilized is Augmented Reality (AR), which integrates virtual objects into real environments in real-time, making learning more engaging, interactive, and contextual. This community service activity was carried out in collaboration with the Mathematics Subject Teachers’ Forum (MGMP) of Maros Regency, aiming to enhance teachers’ competence in utilizing AR as a learning medium, to create a more enjoyable classroom atmosphere, and to provide alternative innovative teaching media. The implementation method consisted of three stages: socialization and introduction to AR, practice and learning simulation, and mentoring and evaluation. The results indicated an increase in teachers’ knowledge and skills in using AR, along with high enthusiasm when conducting AR-based mathematics learning simulations. Furthermore, the program was followed up with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Makassar, and the Government of Maros Regency as a form of mutual commitment to support the implementation of AR in mathematics education at schools. Thus, this training has had a positive impact on improving the quality of teaching and students’ learning motivation, as well as serving as a strategic step in advancing educational innovation in the 21st century.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated online learning adoption in higher education, yet its longitudinal impact on mathematics education remains underexplored. This study investigated how mathematics education students' perceptions of online learning evolved between pandemic and post-pandemic periods and examined the relationship between these perceptions and academic achievement. Using an ex post facto quantitative design, we surveyed 157 undergraduate students at the Department of Mathematics, Universitas Negeri Makassar, Indonesia. Participants were stratified into two cohorts: during-pandemic and post-pandemic learners. We assessed four dimensions—resilience, infrastructure support, learning activities, and instructor competence—using structured questionnaires, complemented by semi-structured interviews for depth. Independent t-tests and linear regression analyses were conducted. Results revealed significantly more favorable perceptions among post-pandemic students, particularly regarding confidence, infrastructure adequacy, and interactive engagement. Students valued flexibility, access to materials, and opportunities for self-regulated learning. However, persistent challenges included comprehension difficulties and concerns about assessment fairness. Linear regression analysis indicated a statistically significant but weak positive relationship between perceptions and GPA (R²=.05), suggesting that while perception influences academic performance, it explains only 5% of achievement variance. These findings highlight that improvements in digital infrastructure and instructor competence enhanced student engagement, yet pedagogical strategies for conceptual understanding and authentic assessment require further development. The study contributes to understanding the evolution of online learning effectiveness beyond crisis contexts and underscores the importance of sustained investment in blended learning environments for mathematics education.

Abstract

Program pengabdian ini merupakan implementasi tanggung jawab untuk menjaga kebersihan lingkungan suatu wilayah melalui kegiatan cleaning day di keluarahan Takkalasi kabupaten Barru, kegiatan ini diikuti dan dilaksanakan oleh tim KKN Tematik, FMIPA UNM didukung oleh Masyarakat setempat. Upaya pembersihan lingkungan ini berupaya membangun kesadaran Masyarakat akan perlunya kebersihan lingkungan terutama tempat wilayah mereka tinggal. Pengabdian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juli sampai bulan Agustus tahun 2023 yang bertempat di Kelurahan Takkalasi, Kecamatan Balusu, Kabupaten Barru. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini yaitu lingkungan sekitar wilayah kelurahan Takkalasi menjadi lebih bersih, lebih sehat, dan lebih ramah. Target dari kegiatan ini dimulai dari sekitaran wilayah posko KKNT kemudian wilayah masjid dan sekitaran rumah-rumah Masyarakat. Kegiatan ini mampu meningkatkan kesadaran dan partisipasi masyarakat terkait kebersihan lingkungan.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang ditemukan pada proses kegiatan belajar mengajar dipengaruhi beberapa faktor seperti masih banyaknya siswa yang menganggap matematika sebagai mata pelajaran yang sulit, kurangnya motivasi yang dimiliki siswa dalam belajar dan permasalahan yang dimiliki siswa dilingkungan keluarga dan lingkungan rumah tinggal siswa. Tim KKN Tematik UNM Kelurahan Lalolang melalui salah satu program kerjanya yaitu Ayo Belajar Bareng (ALJABAR) berupaya membantu anak-anak di kelurahan Lalolang dalam memahami pelajaran matematika, khususnya untuk operasi hitung matematika. Ayo Belajar Bareng (ALJABAR) merupakan kegiatan pembelajaran matematika yang dilaksanakan diluar jam sekolah yang bertujuan membantu para siswa untuk lebih memahami materi matematika. Program kerja ALJABAR ini dilaksanakan menggunakan metode yang bervariasi. Program ini dilaksanakan di siang dan sore hari dengan enam titik yaitu SDN 44 Barru, MI At-Taufiq, UPTD SMPN 5 Barru, Mts At-Taufiq, Rumah Warga, dan TK/TPA Masjid Nurul Iman Mattoangin. Perkembangan prestasi belajar siswa rata-rata menunjukkan perkembangan yang baik dengan adanya ALJABAR ini. Tim pengabdi mengamati berdasarkan kecepatan dan ketepatan siswa dalam menjawab soal dan keantusiasan siswa dalam mengikuti pertemuan bimbingan belajar setelah diadakan proker ALJABAR.
