Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of changes in ignition timing on power, torque and fuel consumption on a Honda Supra X 125 CC. This study used an experimental research method. The object of this research is a motorcycle Supra X 125 CC that uses premium fuel RON 88, pertalite RON 90 and pertamax RON 92 with a standard ignition time of 15 ° before TDC, 16 ° before TDC and 17 ° before TDC. The research instruments used were a chassis dynamometer, timing light, fuel meter and a stopwatch. Data analysis using descriptive method. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the use of pertalite fuel with a change in ignition time of 17 ° before TDC can increase the power at 9.87 HP, up by 1.25%, torque at 1.18 kgf / m or an increase of 1.70% and fuel consumption increases as the time / angle of ignition advances.

Abstract

Abstract

The problem of this research was the limitation of learning media for speed sensors in the Ototronics laboratory, which has an impact on three critical aspects in the teaching and learning process: (1) limited students gain practical experience, (2) decreased student motivation and participation, and (3) the difficulty of lecturers demonstrating material comprehensively in the Sensors and Transducers course. This research aimed to design a mini trainer speed sensor as an innovative learning media to overcome the limitations of practicum media in the Ototronics laboratory, impacting the student learning experience. The research used a quantitative-descriptive and Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) validation involving 7 learning media experts. The results showed highly significant design validity. The didactic aspect proved to give the most superior contribution to improving the effectiveness of learning media. This research successfully addressed three main problems: student’s limited practical experience, decreased participation motivation, and lecturers’ difficulty demonstrating the material. The results confirm that this particular learning media effectively addresses three critical impacts in the teaching and learning process: student’s limited practical experience, decreased participation motivation, and lecturers’ difficulty demonstrating the material, thus opening up opportunities for developing transformative interactive learning media in technical vocational education.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi melalui platform interaktif seperti Quizizz diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Namun, pada kelas XI TKR SMKN 8 Tebo, pembelajaran PBKR masih menerapkan metode konvensional, Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  menginvestigasi dampak pemanfaatan Quizizz terhadap ketertarikan dan pencapaian akademik siswa. Penelitian ini melibatkan 58 siswa yang terbagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok percobaan dan kelompok yang tidak diberi perlakuan. Data dikumpulkan melalui pelaksanaan pre-test dan post-test, serta kuesioner yang mengukur minat belajar. Hasil uji t menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan  signifikan pada pre-test (t = 1.122; p = 0.267), namun terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada post-test (t = 11.84; p < 0.05), di mana kelompok percobaan menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan. Penggunaan Quizizz terbukti efektif dalam membantu memperbaiki pencapaian belajar dan minat siswa. The use of information and communication technology through interactive platforms such as Quizizz is expected to improve the quality of learning. However, in the XI TKR class at SMKN 8 Tebo, the PBKR learning still applies conventional methods. This study aims to investigate the impact of using Quizizz on student engagement and academic achievement. The study involved 58 students, divided into two groups: the experimental group and the control group. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test assessments, as well as a questionnaire measuring learning interest. The t-test results showed no significant difference in the pre-test (t = 1.122; p = 0.267), but a significant difference in the post-test (t = 11.84; p < 0.05), with the experimental group showing a significant improvement. The use of Quizizz proved effective in enhancing student learning achievement and interest.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis tingkat kesadaran pengemudi bus antarkota terhadap kelayakan daya pancar dan arah sinar lampu utama, yang berperan penting dalam keselamatan berkendara. Menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan survei terhadap 30 pengemudi di UPT PKB Dinas Perhubungan Kota Padang, data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kesadaran pengemudi berada pada kategori sedang dengan skor minimum 96, maksimum 175, rata-rata 129, dan standar deviasi 21,1. Distribusi kesadaran mencatat 33,3% dalam kategori sangat rendah, 20,0% rendah, 16,7% sedang, 23,3% tinggi, dan 6,7% sangat tinggi, yang mengindikasikan masih kurangnya pemahaman tentang perawatan dan pengaturan lampu utama. Studi ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran pengemudi dalam menjaga kualitas lampu utama guna mendukung keselamatan lalu lintas. This study analyses the level of awareness of intercity bus drivers on the appropriateness of headlight emission and beam direction, which play an important role in driving safety. Using a quantitative method with a survey of 30 drivers at the UPT PKB of Padang City Transportation Agency, the data were analysed descriptively. Results showed that driver awareness was in the moderate category with a minimum score of 96, maximum of 175, mean of 129, and standard deviation of 21.1. The distribution of awareness recorded 33.3% in the very low category, 20.0% low, 16.7% medium, 23.3% high, and 6.7% very high, indicating a lack of understanding of headlight maintenance and settings. This study is expected to increase driver awareness in maintaining the quality of headlamps to support traffic safety.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil observasi, ditemukan beberapa permasalahan utama. Pertama, mutu kompetensi guru rendah disebabkan terbatasnya kesempatan mengikuti pelatihan atau pengembangan diri. Kedua, media ajar program keahlian Teknik Kendaraan Ringan dan Teknik Sepeda Motor kurang, baik dari segi kuantitas maupun jenis, khususnya sistem penerangan sepeda motor. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat melalui pelatihan melibatkan 15 guru sebagai peserta, bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi guru pada sistem penerangan sepeda motor dan menghasilkan produk media ajar berupa simulator di SMKN 1 Koto XI Tarusan. Metode pelatihan meliputi ceramah, demonstrasi, praktik langsung, dan evaluasi. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam kompetensi guru sebesar 39,52%. Nilai rata-rata pre-test sebesar 58,13 meningkat menjadi 80,87 pada posttest. Selain itu, standar deviasi juga menunjukkan peningkatan, dari 6,07 pada pre-test menjadi 7,55 pada posttest. Kegiatan ini menghasilkan luaran 3 unit simulator sistem penerangan sepeda motor. Diharapkan pelatihan ini mendukung keberlanjutan program serupa di masa depan dengan fokus pada peningkatan kualitas pendidikan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengevaluasi pelaksanaan Sistem Manajemen Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (SMK3) pada jurusan Teknik Kendaraan Ringan di SMK Al-Anhar Bayang, mencakup tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi, serta identifikasi berbagai kendala beserta alternatif solusinya. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif melalui teknik observasi, penyebaran angket, dan wawancara yang melibatkan siswa serta tenaga pendidik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan pelaksanaan SMK3 telah mencakup beberapa aspek penting, antara lain penerapan peraturan K3, pembentukan struktur organisasi, dan penggunaan alat pelindung diri (APD). Ditemukan berbagai hambatan berupa rendahnya tingkat kesadaran siswa, keterbatasan fasilitas keselamatan, serta belum optimalnya pencatatan kejadian kecelakaan kerja secara sistematis. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan peningkatan pengawasan, sosialisasi berkelanjutan, pelatihan secara rutin, dan penyediaan sarana keselamatan yang lebih lengkap guna menciptakan lingkungan praktik yang aman dan nyaman, sehingga mampu menunjang peningkatan mutu pendidikan serta keselamatan kerja. This study evaluates the implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) in the Light Vehicle Engineering Department at SMK Al-Anhar Bayang, covering the stages of planning, implementation, evaluation, and identification of various obstacles along with alternative solutions. The study was conducted using a quantitative descriptive approach through observation techniques, distributing questionnaires, and interviews involving students and educators. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of SMK3 has covered several important aspects, including the application of K3 regulations, the formation of organizational structures, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Various obstacles were found in the form of low levels of student awareness, limited safety facilities, and less than optimal systematic recording of work accidents. Therefore, increased supervision, ongoing socialization, routine training, and the provision of more complete safety facilities are needed to create a safe and comfortable practice environment, so as to support the improvement of the quality of education and work safety.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Special Service Tool (SST) pembuka pegas katup berbasis pneumatik yang memungkinkan penggantian seal katup tanpa perlu melepas kepala silinder dari mesin kendaraan, khususnya pada mesin mobil Avanza K3-Ve. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) dengan model DDD-E (Decide, Design, Develop, Evaluate). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Special Service Tool (SST) pembuka pegas katup berbasis pneumatik untuk penggantian seal katup secara signifikan menurunkan waktu pengerjaan dari rata-rata 412 menit menggunakan metode konvensional menjadi 279 menit. Efisiensi waktu yang dicapai sebesar 32,28%. Dengan demikian, alat ini dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektivitas dalam proses perawatan mesin kendaraan. This research aims to develop a pneumatic-based valve spring opener Special Service Tool (SST) that allows valve seal replacement without the need to remove the cylinder head from the vehicle engine, especially on the Avanza K3-Ve car engine. This research uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the DDD-E model (Decide, Design, Develop, Evaluate). The results showed that the use of a pneumatic-based valve spring opener Special Service Tool (SST) for valve seal replacement significantly reduced the processing time from an average of 412 minutes using conventional methods to 279 minutes. The time efficiency achieved was 32.28%. Thus, this tool can increase efficiency and effectiveness in the vehicle engine maintenance process.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji pengaruh pengaktifan VTEC menggunakan alternatif pemasangan VTEC Switch Control Pedal Gas terhadap torsi dan daya Honda Accord Cielo 1995 Engine Swap F23A. Penelitian ini membandingkan torsi dan daya VTEC Off (tanpa menggunakan VTEC Switch Control Pedal Gas) dengan VTEC On (menggunakan VTEC Switch Control Pedal Gas). Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan peningkatan torsi dan daya yang signifikan pada Honda Accord Cielo 1995 Engine Swap F23A dengan menggunakan VTEC Switch Control Pedal Gas (VTEC On) dengan hasil t hitung=6,3600 untuk torsi, dan t hitung=252,8458  untuk daya yang lebih besar dari t tabel=2,3534. Hasil persentase peningkatan torsi dan daya juga  memuaskan, dengan hasil peningkatan 7,08% untuk torsi dan 68,51% untuk daya. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of activating VTEC using an alternative installation of VTEC Switch Control Pedal Gas on the torque and power of Honda Accord Cielo 1995 Engine Swap F23A. This study compares the torque and power of VTEC Off (without using VTEC Switch Control Pedal Gas) with VTEC On (using VTEC Switch Control Pedal Gas). This research method uses an experimental method. The results of this study showed a significant increase in torque and power in the Honda Accord Cielo 1995 Engine Swap F23A using VTEC Switch Control Pedal Gas (VTEC On) with the results of t counts = 6.3600 for torque, and t counts = 252.8458 for power greater than t table = 2.3534. The results of the percentage increase in torque and power are also satisfactory, with results increasing by 7.08% for torque and 68,51% for power.

Abstract

Abstract: The implementation of the Independent Learning Curriculum in Vocational High Schools requires comprehensive evaluation from direct users' perspectives to identify effectiveness and improvement areas. This study aims to analyze teachers' and students' perceptions of the Independent Learning Curriculum on Light Vehicle Engine Maintenance (PMKR) subjects at SMKN 1 Padang. The study employed a quantitative approach with survey method and descriptive design. Research subjects were 2 PMKR subject teachers and 46 students of grade XI Light Vehicle Engineering Program, selected using total sampling for teachers and proportionate stratified random sampling for students. Research instruments consisted of validated questionnaires with 5-point Likert scale. Data analysis used descriptive statistics with mean score calculations and interpretation categorization. Research findings show: (1) teachers' perceptions of the Independent Learning Curriculum on PMKR subjects are in "Good" category with mean score 3.69, with highest aspects in learning planning (4.38) and learning evaluation (4.25); (2) students' perceptions of PMKR learning with Independent Learning Curriculum are in "Very Good" category with mean score 4.33, with highest aspects in learning methods (4.66) and learning benefits (4.63); (3) there is a positive gap of 0.64 points with students having more positive perceptions than teachers. Research findings imply the importance of maintaining institutional support, enhancing project-based learning, and intensifying assessment system socialization for optimizing Independent Learning Curriculum implementation in vocational schools.Keywords: Independent Learning Curriculum, Teacher Perception, Student Perception, PMKR, Vocational High School, Vocational Learning.
