Abstract

Abstrac: This study was conducted in Malumbi Village,Kambera District,East Sumba Regency. The locationwas selected based on the consideration that Malumbi Village, Kambera District is one of the areas thatcultivates cayenne pepper in East Sumba Regency and its production experiences fluctuations that indicate risk.The objectives of this study were 1) to determine the magnitude of production risk and cayenne pepper pricerisk in Malumbi Village with 26 informant sources, and 2) to develop strategies to deal with production risksusing SWOT analysis with Stakeholders. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. Based onthe results of this study, it shows that the level of production risk and cayenne pepper price risk are 12.75% and7.44%, respectively. Meanwhile, the analysis of internal factors in the study showed that the main strength isthe indicator of the area of land owned by farmers with a value of 1.72 greater than the main weaknessvalue of 1.13, while the main opportunity is 1.55 and the main threat is 0.28. Meanwhile, the priority strategybased on the QSPM analysis is the application of modern cultivation techniques or methods in an effort toincrease farming productivity.Keywords: Coefficient Of Variation, Risk, Strategy, SWOT, QSPM

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis risiko produksi, risiko harga, dan persepsi petani padi di Desa Kaliuda terhadap risiko usahatani. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Kaliuda Kecamatan Pahunga Lodu Kabupaten Sumba Timur pada bulan Januari 2024 sampai dengan Maret 2024. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 89 petani, dan teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode simple random sampling (acak). Untuk mengetahui besarnya risiko produksi dan risiko harga dilakukan analisis dengan menggunakan koefisien variasi. Analisis persepsi petani diukur dengan menggunakan skala likert. Hasil analisis menjelaskan bahwa tingkat risiko produksi dan risiko harga pada usahatani padi di Desa Kaliuda Kecamatan Pahunga Lodu Kabupaten Sumba Timur berada pada kategori rendah. Persepsi petani padi terhadap risiko usahatani padi di Desa Kaliuda Kecamatan Pahunga Lodu Kabupaten Sumba Timur berada pada kategori netral

Abstract

It is hoped that the development of a new production center for sorghum commodities, especially in East Sumba Regency, can increase sorghum production and supply sorghum needs nationally in order to face the world food crisis. To achieve this, it is important to be able to formulate the right strategy for developing sorghum in East Sumba Regency which has dry land conditions. The aim of this research is to analyze the internal and external environment of sorghum farming in East Sumba Regency and to determine priority strategies for developing sorghum farming in East Sumba Regency. This research is a qualitative research with analytical descriptive analysis conducted in July - December 2023 in East Sumba Regency. Respondents in this research were key informants who were determined using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by means of field observations, Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and in-depth interviews according to research problems with key informants. The analytical methods used in this research are SWOT analysis and QSPM. The results of the SWOT matrix analysis show that there are 6 alternative strategy formulations that can be applied to the development of sorghum farming in East Sumba. Meanwhile, the results of the QSPM analysis show that the first priority alternative strategy that can be applied by farmers in developing sorghum farming on dry land in East Sumba is optimizing land use to increase production.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze consumer decisions in buying fresh fish in Waingapu City, East Sumba Regency. The choice of Waingapu City as the research location was based on the consideration that the city is an economic center for the people of East Sumba Regency. In addition, Waingapu City was chosen because it has a large population of fresh fish sellers and consumers. Respondents used in this study amounted to 96 people who are fish buyers who are willing to be interviewed. The sampling technique in this study used a simple random sampling technique. To analyze the factors that influence consumer decisions in buying fish in Waingapu City, multiple linear regression analysis was carried out. The results of this study explain that location and price factors have a significant effect on consumers' decisions to buy fresh fish, while consumer tastes, product quality and consumer income have a significant influence on consumers' decisions to buy fresh fish. Simultaneously, location, price, consumer tastes, product quality, and consumer income have a significant effect on fresh fish purchasing decisions in Waingapu City.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the factors that influence corn production and the allocative efficiency of corn production in Lairuru Village, Umalulu District, East Sumba Regency. The population in this study were all corn farmers in Lairuru Village. The number of samples was determined using the Slovin method with an error tolerance level of 10%, so the sample size was determined at 68 people. The data analysis method that will be used in this research uses multiple linear regression analysis to analyze the influence of production factors on the amount of production, and efficiency analysis to analyze the level of allocative efficiency in the use of production factors in corn farming in Lairuru Village. The results of the analysis of the influence of production input factors on corn production in Lairuru Village explain that the factors of seeds, pesticides and labor have a significant influence on the amount of production. Meanwhile, land area, urea and NPK fertilizer factors do not have a significant influence on the amount of production. The results of the efficiency analysis explain that the use of land area, seeds, urea fertilizer, NPK fertilizer, pesticides and labor in corn farming in Lairuru Village is declared inefficient.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kelompok wanita tani Nua Luri merupakan kelompok tani yang mengusahakan produk hortikultura di Kelurahan Malumbi Kecamatan Kambera, di Kabupaten Sumba Timur, karena mempunyai potensi sumber daya lahan cukup serta didukung dengan irigasi teknis yang berada pada daerah tersebut, sehingga hal ini menjadi peluang yang baik dan perlu dimanfaatkan oleh para petani. Produk-produk hortikultura yang diusahakan cukup beragam mulai dari sawi, kankung, bayam, tomat, jagung manis, terong dan komoditas lainnya. Namun beberapa permasalahan seperti salah satunya adalah daya saing produk hasil pertanian belum begitu baik, dimana akan dapat menyebabkan nilai jual produk hortikultura menjadi rendah. Oleh karena itu untuk meningkatkan daya saing produk hortikultura bagi kelompok tersebut maka diperlukan strategi pemasaran yang tepat, salah satunya dengan memberikan merek/ branding pada produk pertanian. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada kelompok Wanita Tani Nua Luri di Kelurahan Malumbi, kecamatan Kambera, Kabupaten Sumba Timur. Metode dalam kegiatan ini adalah memberikan penyuluhan dan pelatihan pelabelan dan penggunaan kemasan pada produk hortikultura, selanjutya dilakukan demo secara langsung terkait pengemasan dan pelabelan pada produk. Hasil pelatihan menghasilkan logo dan nama produk fresh farm Nua Luri. Peserta antusias dan aktif mengikuti kegitan tersebut.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze internal and external problems consisting of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats as well as strategies for developing the sweet potato chips business in the Opang Madangu business group in Bidipraing Village, Lewa Tidahu District, East Sumba. This type of research uses descriptive and quantitative research methods. This research involved 12 informants. The accidental sampling method was used in sampling. The data analysis method used is SWOT analysis to determine the evaluation matrix of internal factors (IFE), external factors (EFE), internal external (IE), strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats (SWOT) and strategic plans, as well as a quantitative matrix (QSPM) . The research results show that the internal element which is the most important strength is the abundance of raw materials and the biggest weakness is the lack of knowledge and the external factor which is the biggest opportunity is cooperation from other industries or market partners. The biggest threat to the sweet potato chips business in the Opang Madangu business group is changes in consumer tastes. The main strategy for developing Opang Madangu commercial chips is product innovation so that consumers have more diverse choices. Keywords: SWOT analysis, development strategy, sweet potato chips business. INTISARI Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis permasalahan internal dan eksternal yang terdiri dari kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang dan ancaman serta strategi pengembangan usaha kripik ubi pada kelompok usaha Opang Madangu di Desa Bidipraing Kecamatan Lewa Tidahu Sumba Timur. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini melibatkan 12 informan. Metode accidental sampling digunakan dalam pengambilan sampel. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis SWOT untuk penentuan matriks evaluasi faktor internal (IFE), faktor eksternal (EFE), internal eksternal (IE), kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang, ancaman (SWOT) dan rencana strategis, serta matriks kuantitatif (QSPM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa unsur internal yang menjadi kekuatan terpenting adalah banyaknya bahan baku dan kelemahan terbesar adalah kurangnya pengetahuan dan faktor eksternal yang menjadi peluang terbesar adalah kerjasama dari industri lain atau mitra pasar. Ancaman terbesar usaha kripik ubi pada kelompok usaha Opang Madangu adalah perubahan selera konsumen. Strategi utama pengembangan keripik komersial Opang Madangu adalah inovasi produk agar konsumen memiliki pilihan yang lebih beragam. Kata kunci: analisis SWOT, strategi pengembangan,  usaha kripik ubi.

Abstract

Tanaman padi sebagai sumber pangan utama bagi mayoritas penduduk dunia, termasuk masyarakat Kabupaten Sumba Timur. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah pada gangguan yang diakibatkan oleh Organisme Pengganggu Tanaman (OPT), khususnya gulma. Penelitian dilakukan mulai Bulan November-Desember 2023 di lahan padi sawah Kelurahan Mauliru, Kecamatan Kambera, Kabupaten Sumba Timur. Pengambilan sampel gulma dilakukan menggunakan metode kuadrat dengan 10 titik sampel yang ditentukan dengan metode purposive sampling. Tiap titik akan dilakukan pengamatan pada lahan ukuran 1,5m x 1,5m. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 20 jenis gulma dengan total individu yang diperoleh mencapai 2.479. Gulma Cyperus rotundus mendominasi dengan nilai Summed Dominance Ratio (SDR) tertinggi sebesar 9,32% dengan nilai penting tertinggi sebesar 46,57%. Perhitungan nilai indeks keragaman menggunakan persamaan Indeks Diversitas Shannon-Wiener. Pada penelitian ini diperoleh nilai indeks keragaman sebesar 2,25 dan dikategorikan rendah. Hal ini menunjukkan pentingnya pengendalian spesifik pada gulma yang bersifat dominan untuk menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem dan pertanian padi di Kelurahan Mauliru, Kecamatan Kambera, Kabupaten Sumba

Abstract

The aim of the community service activity is in the form of counselling and training for the institutional capacity building of farmer groups in relation to increasing social entrepreneurship for the welfare of the members of the farmer group. The activity method used in this PkM is packaged using a workshop approach. The implementation of this PkM activity focuses on building institutional capacity and social entrepreneurship through counselling and training on group dynamics, institutional management & community development, training on farmer group administration and counselling and discussion on entrepreneurship social. Evaluation of activities is carried out by comparing the pre-test and post-test results of the implementation of all PKM activities. The average pre-test score was 49.2% and the post-test average score increased to 82.8%. This shows that there has been an increase in participants' knowledge about farmer group dynamics, institutional management and community development, bookkeeping and group administration, as well as knowledge about social entrepreneurship.
