Abstract

Maternal deaths are one of the causes of delays in making referral decisions. This study aims to determine the relationship between the role of the family and the role of midwives in decision making for referrals for maternal complications in the Kuprik Community Health Center working area. This research uses an analytical observational research design with a cross sectional approach. Using the accidental sampling technique, a sample of 30 respondents was obtained, the independent variable (family role and midwife's role) and the dependent variable (referral decision making) using a questionnaire. The Chi-Square statistical test was used to determine the relationship between the two variables. The research results showed that the majority of respondents had families who did not play a role in making decisions regarding referrals for maternal complications, namely 17 respondents (56.7%), the majority of respondents had a role for midwives in making decisions regarding referrals for maternal complications, namely 27 respondents (90%) , and the majority of respondents refused to be referred, namely 16 respondents (53.3%).Chi-Square statistical test analysis found that there was a relationship between the role of the family in making decisions regarding referrals for maternal complications (p value = 0.000 < 0.05), and there was no relationship between the role of midwives in making decisions regarding referrals for maternal complications (p value = 0.088 > 0, 05).The need for a good family role in making decisions regarding referrals for maternal complications through the role of the husband, wife's parents and in-laws. Apart from that, the midwife's role in making decisions regarding referrals for maternal complications must be increased to the role of facilitator.

Abstract

Complementary food for breast milk (MP-ASI) is additional food or drink that contains nutrients and is given from the age of 6-24 months to meet nutritional needs other than breast milk. The role of parents is very important in responding to complementary feeding, so that later they can provide the best for their babies. From the initial survey conducted by researchers in Semanding Village at the Permata Hati posyandu, there were 10 babies aged 0-6 months, 4 babies (40%) of them have been given complementary feeding at the age of 5 months while 6 infants (60%) received exclusive breastfeeding. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of education on mothers' attitudes about early complementary feeding for mothers of infants 0-6 months in Semanding Village, Jenangan District, Ponorogo Regency. Methods: This study uses the Pre-Experimental method with One-Group Pre-test-post test design. The number of samples was 25 mothers of children aged 6 months, who met the inclusion criteria with total sampling technique. The first variable as the independent variable in this study is health education about early MP-ASI, the second variable as the dependent variable is the attitude of mothers of infants 0-6 months of age to early MP-ASI. The instrument used is a questionnaire. Data analysis used Wilcoxon statistical test with Asymp.sig value <α(0.05). Result: value (Asimp.Sig.2 tailed) of 0.000 where less than 0.05 then the hypothesis is accepted or there is a significant influence on the education of mothers' attitudes about early complementary feeding for mothers with infants 0-6 months. Conclusion: This study shows that there is or is a significant effect on the education of mothers' attitudes about early MP-ASI for mothers of infants 0-6 months in Semanding Village, Jenangan District, Ponorogo Regency. Therefore, education is needed to improve mothers' attitudes about early MP-ASI for mothers with babies 0-6 months in Semanding Village, Jenangan District, Ponorogo Regency.

Abstract

Efforts to reduce the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) during the neonatal period include carrying out bonding attachments. There are various ways to support the occurrence of bonding attachment between mother and baby, including the implementation of rooming in and exclusive breastfeeding after delivery (Wijaya et al., 2023). By implementing rooming in, it’s hoped that a good bonding attachment will be created between mother and baby it will have an impact on breastfeeding to support increased achievement of exclusive breastfeeding. This study used a cross-sectional method, with a population of 86 postpartum mothers. Using a purposive sampling technique, the sample was 50 mothers, consisting of 25 spontaneous postpartum mothers and 25 SC postpartum mothers. The results of the study, 84% of postpartum mothers have a good bonding. Based on the Chi-Square test, the result was p=0.000<0.05, H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, which means there is a relationship between rooming in and bonding attachment in post partum mothers. The distribution of data from 2 groups after the normality test was performed not normal, then a statistical test of the difference between 2 groups using Mann-Whitney U test with the result p = 0.445> 0.05, there was no significant difference between the spontaneous postpartum mother group and the postpartum SC mother group. Hopefully that this research can be developed with a different research design as support for efforts to achieve exclusive breastfeeding.
