Abstract

The quality of dug well water should comply with established regulations. The pollution caused by bacteria to water in the ground widens to ± 2 meters at a distance of 5 meters from the source of pollution 3 and narrows to a distance of 11 meters in the direction of the ground flow. This type of research is descriptive research, namely to determine the use of silica sand filter media, activated carbon in filter reactors on reducing TDS, Nitrite (NO2), Dissolved Manganese and MPN Coliform by comparing the composition of the filter media with reference to clean water quality standards Permenkes No. 2 In 2023, the samples in this research were dug wells located in Kapasa Village, Biringkanaya District, Makaasar City. The results of this research after the filtration intervention of manganese media, activated charcoal and silica sand, found that TDS, color, Manganese Nitrite (NO3) had decreased levels of environmental pollution, this is in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2023. Conclusions from the results research shows that silica sand, manganese and activated charcoal filtration media, TDS, manganese nitrate (NO2) and MPN Coliform can effectively reduce water pollution levels in dug wells in accordance with the Minister of Health Regulation. So the risk of infectious and non-communicable diseases can be overcome with the intervention of silica sand, manganese and activated charcoal filtration media.

Abstract

The growth of catfish seeds can be influenced by many factors including high water and seed stocking density. The research objective was to analyze the effect of high air and stocking density of different fish on the growth and maintenance of Sangkuriang catfish fry. This type of quantitative research with an experimental approach. The research was an experiment using a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial. Data processing uses SPSS Version 22 with two-way ANOVA analysis if there are differences, it will be followed by Tukey HSD. The research analysis showed that there was an effect of varying stocking density treatments on the survival of fish fry and absolute growth, while the high air treatment only had an effect on the survival of Sangkuriang catfish fry. The research yielded a water height of 13 cm and a stocking density of 15 individuals/liter was the treatment with the highest survival rate for catfish seeds with a value of 74.4%, while for exclusive weight growth, the treatment was 10 cm water height and a stocking density of 15 individuals/liter of 0.94 g.

Abstract

Abstract

Banggae is a sub-district located in the city of Majene, West Sulawesi. Generally, the livelihoods of the people in this area are farmers and livestock breeders. One of the representatives of the farmer group in the city of Majene expressed their desire to be assisted and trained in making organic fertilizer. This is based on the large amount of agricultural waste that has not been utilized properly, so organic waste has no economic value. Based on the results of the discussion, one of the solutions offered by the community service team as a form of implementing the tri dharma of higher education to overcome partner problems is to provide training and assistance through optimizing the use of local agricultural waste and household organic waste in producing organic fertilizer. Implementation is carried out through counseling, providing materials, and demonstrations. The process of making organic fertilizer in this activity uses materials that are easily obtained in Banggae District, including banana stems, fruit and vegetable waste, leaves, cow dung, goat dung, and rice washing water. The carbon source is a brown sugar solution mixed with effective microorganism 4 (EM4) as a biocultivator. The method applied is anaerobic microaerophilically using tarpaulin as a fermentation place. The fermentation process lasts for 2 weeks. The results of the mentoring show that the Banggae District farmer group can practice making organic fertilizer from household and agricultural waste independently using EM4 as a biocultivator.

Abstract

PKM for vermicompost farming communities in Barang Village, Liliriaja District, Soppeng Regency is a new technology and innovation implemented to overcome waste problems. The farmer group involved is Wanita Tani Melati, which is a group of oyster mushroom cultivators. One of the organic wastes that has not been processed by the community is baglog waste from oyster mushroom cultivation. The technology introduced to the local community is the use of baglog waste from oyster mushroom cultivation as a medium for cultivating worms Lumbricus rubellus where the results of the metabolism of the worms become vermicompost which is better than ordinary compost which can be directly applied to plants. This PKM was carried out in 2 stages, namely the training stage which lasted 1 day and the vermicompost production stage using baglog waste media and Lumbricus rubellus worms and assistance for 4 months. From this PKM activity, 200 kg of vermicompost was successfully produced in a period of 2 months. It is hoped that making vermicompost independently can be a solution for farmers so that they do not depend on synthetic fertilizers purchased or subsidized by the government and can also increase income for oyster mushroom farmers from the sale of vermicompost and worms.
