Abstract

This research aims to develop interactive learning media for physical education, sports and health, based on audio-visual, basic pattern motion materials based on games in elementary schools in Phase A. Based on the researcher's observation, there has been no development of audio-visual learning media at the Phase A level on locomotor motion materials, so the researcher tries to present learning media that is adapted to the Independent curriculum as a solution students who still have shortcomings, such as students' understanding of basic movement materials that are not optimal.  This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model, which consists of 5 development steps, namely Analyze,  Design, Development, Implementation  and Evaluation. This research was assisted by 3 validators. The instrument used in this study is a validation sheet. The data analysis technique uses a scoring scale and a percentage range. From the research that has been carried out, it is found that the validity of the media developed has a percentage of 92.5% with a very feasible classification. Then for the student response, which is 97.92%, with that the audio-visual learning media in PE learning is a game-based basic locomotor movement pattern material at the phase A elementary school level.

Abstract

Sudden death, particularly among seemingly healthy individuals, presents a critical challenge in both medical and athletic communities. This literature review investigates sudden cardiac death (SCD) in adolescent athletes, emphasizing the role of genetic screening. Utilizing various studies from 2019 to 2024, the review highlights that SCD, while rare, often stems from cardiovascular issues such as cardiomyopathy and coronary artery anomalies. Pre-participation screening, including ECGs, is crucial in identifying at-risk individuals, yet raises ethical debates regarding athlete disqualification. Genetic factors play a significant role, with inherited heart conditions frequently implicated in SCD cases. Comprehensive genetic screening and family evaluations are vital, although widespread implementation is hindered by limited positive outcomes and potential psychosocial effects. Epidemiological studies reveal a higher incidence of SCD during competitive sports, underscoring the need for tailored prevention strategies. Findings emphasize the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration in enhancing screening methods, risk assessment, and preventive interventions to mitigate sudden mortality in young athletes. The study concludes that lifestyle modifications, promoted by health organizations, and advancements in genetic diagnosis are essential in improving the health and safety of athletes. Efforts to integrate cardiovascular and genetic screening into clinical and athletic practice are paramount, aiming to reduce the incidence of SCD and enhance the well-being of young athletes globally.

Abstract

This study evaluates the application of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) in sports physiotherapy, focusing on pain management, muscle recovery, and injury rehabilitation. Utilizing qualitative descriptive research based on a literature review, data were sourced from reputable scientific databases such as Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. The analysis revealed that TENS effectively manages pain by altering pain signals before they reach the brain, enhances muscle recovery by improving blood circulation, reducing inflammation, and accelerating healing. Additionally, TENS supports injury rehabilitation by preserving strength and muscle mass during immobilization and contributes positively to athletes' mental well-being by maintaining motivation. While TENS demonstrates various benefits, its effectiveness can vary among individuals, indicating a need for further research to optimize usage protocols and assess its impact on specific conditions in sports. In conclusion, TENS is a valuable tool in sports physiotherapy, offering significant advantages in pain relief, muscle recovery, and rehabilitation

Abstract

Twenty20 (T20) Cricket matches are one of the National Championship, BK PON, and PON for the Province Cricket Championship. Meanwhile, since the West Sumatra Men's Cricket Team participated in the 2014 National Championship until the BK PON in 2023, this team never reached the podium in that event. Even in the last BK PON, they lost in the group stage. This team also lost in other events, so they failed to qualify for the 2024 PON. This study aims to analyze the causes of the West Sumatra Man Cricket Team's defeat in the T20 event, through match statistics. This study is a descriptive study with the object of research of the West Sumatra Men's Cricket Team, consisting of 14 athletes, in the T20 match, facing three opposing teams (Banten, West Java, and East Kalimantan). The instruments used include match statistics, especially the number of team runs and individual runs during the batting innings, which are analyzed through the Indonesian Cricket Association website and video recordings of matches. The results obtained in the T20 event of the West Sumatra Men's Cricket Team from individual statistics (Batting) show that the performance of each athlete is not very good compared to the opposing team, so the team cannot achieve victory. Further research is needed to compare the performance of the West Sumatra Men's Cricket Team with the winning team in the T20 event.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve long jump learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Islam Khairu Ummah Padang through the implementation of a game-based learning model. The research employed Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The participants were 36 students. Data were collected through observation and long jump performance tests and analyzed using descriptive, quantitative, and qualitative techniques. The results indicated that the game-based learning model significantly improved students’ learning outcomes. In Cycle I, the average score was 48.92 with a mastery level of 22.22%. After improvements in Cycle II, the average score increased to 83.06, with learning mastery reaching 94.44%. These findings demonstrate that the game-based learning model is effective in enhancing long jump skills among elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims investigated the effects of arm muscle power, leg muscle power, and hand–eye coordination on smash accuracy among male volleyball players at SMK Negeri 2 Kerinci. The research employed a quantitative design using path analysis to examine direct, indirect, and simultaneous relationships among variables. The population consisted of 30 male volleyball athletes, with total sampling applied. Arm muscle power was measured using the one-hand medicine ball put test, leg muscle power using the vertical jump test, hand–eye coordination using the ball werfen und fangen test, and smash accuracy through a standardized smash accuracy test. Data were analyzed using path analysis at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed that arm muscle power, leg muscle power, and hand–eye coordination each had significant direct effects on smash accuracy, with hand–eye coordination contributing the strongest influence. In addition, arm and leg muscle power exerted significant indirect effects on smash accuracy through hand–eye coordination. Simultaneously, all variables explained a substantial proportion of variance in smash accuracy. These findings highlight the importance of integrating physical power and coordination training in volleyball instruction at the school level.
