Abstract

Berpikir kreatif merupakan kemampuan untuk menghasilkan solusi, ide, dan gagasan yang berbeda dari sebelumnya. Keterampilan berpikir kreatif menjadi keterampilan penting saat ini dan harus dimiliki oleh peserta didik agar dapat bersaing di kehidupan dunia global. Walaupun demikian, dalam pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar, guru dan peserta didik masih menghadapi kesulitan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif. Salah satu solusi yang ditawarkan oleh penelitian ini adalah pembuatan modul elektronik berbasis STEM (sains, teknologi, teknik, dan matematika) yang dapat digunakan siswa untuk belajar STEM dan matematika, baik secara mandiri maupun dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar di kelas. Untuk meningkatkan pendidikan sains dan keterampilan berpikir kreatif peserta didik di sekolah dasar, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat e-modul berbasis STEM yang praktis dan efektif. Analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi adalah semua langkah yang diperlukan untuk mengembangkan e-modul. Validasi produk dilakukan oleh tiga orang ahli pembelajaran IPA. E-modul yang sudah dinyatakan valid, dilakukan uji coba dalam pembelajaran di SDN 3 Singotrunan, kabupaten Banyuwangi. Selama uji coba, dilakukan perolehan data keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dan data keterampilan berpikir kreatif. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa produk dinyatakan valid untuk nilai 4,50 – 4,75 karena itu layak untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Hasil analisis data keterlaksanaan pembelajaran menunjukkan bahwa produk sesuai dengan skor pada rentang 3,3 – 4,0. Hasil analisis data pengujian menunjukkan bahwa standar yang tinggi menyebabkan peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kreatif pada kriteria tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa produk modul elektronik berbasis STEM yang dikembangkan oleh penelitian itu praktis dan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik selama pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Minyak goreng merupakan salah satu kebutuhan pokok yang digunakan untuk kegiatan masak memasak dan sering dipakai ada banyak sekelompok masyarakat yang menggunakannya dua hingga tiga kali bahkan lebih hingga kelihatan dari segi warnanya menjadi agak hitam bahkan hitam. Masyarakat cenderung memakai kembali minyak jelantah untuk menggoreng demi penghematan tanpa mempertimbangkan bahaya bagi kesehatan. Demikian pula pada kelompok ibu-ibu di Kampung Buton Kelurahan Yabansai masih menggunakan minyak jelantah untuk tujuan penggorengan makanan. Hal ini merupakan kebiasaan yang kurang baik karena minyak jelantah dapat berefek pada kesehatan pada tubuh manusia yang mengonsumsi makanan hasil penggorengan dengan minyak jelantah. Dengan melihat permasalahan di atas maka perlu upaya penanganan minyak jelantah agar bisa sehat atau jernih kembali dan tidak perlu dibuang sebagai limbah dengan memanfaatkan kulit pisang kepok dan diperluas dengan treatment dengan arang aktif sehingga hasil penjernihan dapat maksimal. Beberapa hasil penelitian, kulit pisang kepok dapat digunakan sebagai adsorben atau penjernih minyak jelantah telah banyak dilakukan, demikian pula arang aktif telah banyak dilakukan sebagai adsorben. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini diperoleh minyak jelantah yang sebelumnya sangat pekat berwarna hitam setelah dilakukan perlakuan dengan arang pisang kapok dan arang aktif maka diperoleh minyak jelantah menjadi minyak yang jernih dan layak digunakan lagi.

Abstract

Pada era abad 21 perkembangan teknologi dan informasi berkembang dengan sangat pesat. Untuk mengadapi perubahan yang sangat cepat tersebut diperlukan strategi yang baik dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Hal ini dilakukan agar kegiatan pembelajaran sesuai dengan tuntutan perkembangan jaman. Para guru harus bisa menciptakan kegiatan pembelajaran yang konstektual atau sesuai dengan kondisi lingkungan belajar siswa. Model pembelajaran STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) sebagai salah satu model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan karateristik pembelajaran abad 21. Permasalahan pada penelitian ini adalah “Apakah melalui pembelajaran STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) dapat meningkatkan kompetensi kekongruenan dan kesebangunan siswa kelas IX di UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Konang Bangkalan tahun 2023. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi siswa kelas IX di UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Konang Bangkalan tahun 2023 dalam memahami kekongruenan dan kesebangunan melalui pembelajaran STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics). Subyek penerima tindakan dalam penelitian adalah siswa kelas IX-C semester 2 tahun pelajaran 2022/2023 dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 18 orang, yang terdiri dari 12 siswa laki-laki dan 6 siswa perempuan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas kolaboratif, yakni bersifat praktis berdasarkan permasalahan nyata. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan dua siklus tahapan PAOR (Planning, Acting, Observing dan Reflecting). Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes dan non tes yang meliputi tes, observasi, dan diskusi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa melalui pembelajaran STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) diperoleh data penguasaan materi dari siklus I ke siklus II, yaitu dari 68,50 menjadi 77,01 atau naik 8,51 poin (naik 12,42%). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui pembelajaran STEAM STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) dapat meningkatkan kompetensi siswa dalam memahami kekongruenan dan kesebangunan.

Abstract

The study addresses the global problem of pollution caused by the long-term decomposition of plastic waste. It aims to explore the development of biodegradable plastics using Hipere starch and glycerol as a sustainable alternative, emphasizing their potential environmental benefits, abundance, and low cost. The primary materials used are Hipere starch, a natural polymer derived from plants, and glycerol as a plasticizer. These were selected for their compatibility and effectiveness in creating biodegradable plastics. Biodegradable plastics were synthesized through an acetylation process that modifies the starch, aiming to enhance its properties. Various concentrations of starch were tested to evaluate their impact on mechanical and physical characteristics. A soil burial test was conducted to assess biodegradability by monitoring mass reduction over seven days. The resulting plastics exhibited transparency, lightweight properties, insolubility in water, and mold-conforming shapes. Mechanical properties, including tensile strength and elongation, improved with higher starch concentrations. The soil burial test showed consistent mass reductions between 1-3% daily, with the most significant reduction occurring on day 7, demonstrating biodegradability. While improvements were observed, further research is needed to enhance mechanical properties by incorporating additional polymers or alternative modification techniques. This could expand the applications and durability of biodegradable plastics in various industries.

Abstract

Scientific writing is an essential skill as an indicator to determine the ability to analyze and reflect on the results of thinking. However, students often experience difficulties in developing writing skills. This study tried a solution by applying inquiry learning by assisting with scaffolding prompting questions. The aims of this study is to analyze the effect of the scaffolding prompting questions in guided inquiry learning on scientific writing skills. The type of this research is a quasi-experiment conducted in senior high school. Science learning is conducted in two classes; experiment and control class with different treatments. The experiment class implemented guided inquiry learning assisted by a scaffolding prompting question, while the control class was taught with guided inquiry learning without scaffolding. Scientific writing skills are obtained from the evaluation of practicum reports that students have done after being trained for three lessons. The results of statistical tests on scientific writing skills using the independent sample t-test showed that the scientific writing skills of the experimental class students differed from the control class. Then, it can be concluded that the scaffolding prompting question in guided inquiry learning significantly influences scientific writing skills.

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian adalah rendahnya kemampuan mengambil keputusan pada peserta didik kelas VIIA SMP Negeri 11 Jember Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengambil keputusan peserta didik kelas VIIA pada materi Ekologi dan Keanekaragaman Hayati Indonesia dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL). Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Desain penelitian meenggunkan model penelitian Kemmis dan Mc Taggart dengan empat tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus, pad tiap siklus terdiri dari dua pertemuan. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa pretest, posttest, Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik, dan lembar observasi pembelajaram. Teknik analisis data menggunakan Uji N-Gain Score. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan kemampuan mengambil keputusan peserta didik berdasarkan Uji N-Gain Score pada siklus I sebesar 0,31 dengan kategori sedang dan siklus II sebesar 0,70 dengan kategori sedang. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mengambil keputusan peserta didik kelas VIIA.

Abstract

This study aims to develop contextual-based physics teaching materials by integrating local wisdom from the processing of tobacco harvests in Jember, East Java, into junior high school science materials. The teaching materials are designed to promote critical thinking skills, including interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, and explanation. This research is motivated by the need to make physics learning more meaningful and relevant to students' daily lives. The research method used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which focuses on the analysis and design stages. The teaching materials are presented interactively and visually using the Canva digital platform and can be accessed by students via an interactive website. Data analysis involved expert validation and questionnaire responses from 30 seventh-grade junior high school students. Expert validation was analyzed descriptively and quantitatively, and student responses were analyzed according to the frequency distribution of each aspect assessed. Experts' results of content validation show that teaching materials are suitable for learning. Based on the physics review, there are several tobacco processing processes related to physics concepts. The physics materials about temperature, heat transfer by conduction, convection, radiation, and specific heat directly relate to the real process of drying tobacco. Student responses were obtained through questionnaires and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that this contextual teaching material effectively increased students' learning motivation, concept understanding, and critical thinking skills. Students stated that the teaching materials were interesting, easy to understand, and related to their daily experiences. It can be concluded that local context-based physics teaching materials have strong potential to increase student engagement and support the development of thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the species of moss plants and to know the use of popular scientific books. The type of research used is qualitative research with exploratory survey methods. The exploratory survey method is carried out by directly tracing the place and object of research. Sampling used a 2×2m plot mounted on the path where the moss was found. The identification process is carried out by analyzing the documented images, observing the morphology, then comparing it with reference books, scientific articles, and validated websites. The results of this study identified 11 moss samples in 5 different tourist sites. These locations include the Rainbow Forest, Megasari Peak, Blawan Waterfall, Wurung Crater, and Kalipait Waterfall. The most commonly found mosses are the class Bryopsida, while the class that few are found is Jungermaniopsida. The results of the identification of moss plants are used in the form of popular scientific books which are validated by 3 expert validators. Validation was carried out in order to determine the feasibility of this book as a source of learning biology. The average validation value is 84.3% with proper qualifications but requires a little improvement.

Abstract

Ratings conducted by students are usually used to evaluate the class process.Research shows that ratings are not only based on objective situational characteristics, but also reflect the characteristics of the assessor. This study uses data from1.745 undergraduate students of Prince Diponegoro University Nganjuk for the last 5 years.The study used single trait-multistate model analysis to unravel the variants of instructional quality (student support, cognitive activation). The relationship between motivational beliefs and the component that was also estimated to be consistent across the rankings was the effect of people. The ranking of teaching quality over time is consistent in the same lecture. Consistency is lower when teaching quality ratings are assessed in various lectures. Consistency is higher in lectures that are considered difficult by students than lectures that are considered important. Students who reported higher expectations for success and interest in lectures also rated instructional quality more positively in all teaching situations. The findings of the study show that the ranking of teaching quality is located and shaped by the characteristics of lectures.

Abstract

Physics teachers must master the structure, concepts, scientific mindset and develop subject matter to provide broad and deep knowledge for students. Professional teachers must develop professionalism continuously through lifelong learning, one of which is to explore the essential material to increase mastery of the content of the subject matter. Physics teachers who are members of the Madrasah Aliyah Physics Teacher Consultation forum throughout Jember Regency have carried out continuous professional development, especially mastering essential physics materials. The activity implementation team, FKIP lecturers at the University of Jember, and core teachers discussed crucial physics materials. The results of this activity show that physics teachers can master the essential physics subject matter, are categorized as complex, and often lead to misconceptions. Teachers are also able to plan and carry out physics practicum. Teachers can use mastery of physics subject matter to design physics teaching materials and physics assessments to improve the quality of physics learning.
