Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of problem based learning model assist with interactive simulation to science generic skill of students. This is an experimental research with pretest-posttest control group design. Data were collected by using generic skill achievement test and analyzed by using mean-difference test and calculating normalized gain scores. Research finding showed that there is significance difference between experimental group and control group. Moreover, mean value for the experimental group is higher than control group. Problem based learning model assist with interactive simulation is better in improving student science generic skill than without interactive simulation.

Abstract

The experimental activities in physics learning are intended to build students' understanding of the concepts of physics. The limitations of experimental equipment have an impact on the low understanding of students' physics concepts. Virtual media can be used as an alternative experimental tool to improve students' conceptual understanding. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of virtual experiments in increasing students' understanding of the concepts of vibration and waves. Quasi-experimental research was conducted using the pretest and posttest control group design. The number of respondents was 40 students who were divided into the experimental group and the control group. The research data were analyzed by N-gain test to determine the level of increase in mastery of concepts using virtual experiments that have been used. The results showed that the achievement level of the experimental group was better than the control group. It can be concluded that virtual experiments are effective in increasing the understanding of students' physics concepts.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1) to determine the validity of interactive multimedia products oriented to science literacy in the concept of gravity and 2) to determine the response of prospective teachers to interactive multimedia products oriented to scientific literacy in the concept of gravity. This research is a type of research and development with the APPED model, but is limited to the evaluation stage. The research subjects were 2 validators and small-scale user trial subjects, namely 5 prospective physics teachers at Universitas Samawa in the second semester of the 2019/2020 academic year. The research and development results obtained were: 1) the product developed was categorized as very valid, with an average percentage of media validation reaching 87.3% and an average percentage of material validation reaching 82.4%; 2) the response of pre-service teachers to the products developed obtained an average percentage of 83.6% and was included in the very good category.

Abstract

Pembelajaran fisika memiliki keterkaitan antara konsep yang satu dengan konsep yanglain. Jika ada kesalahan dalam suatu konsep, dapat mempengaruhi pemahaman konsep yang lain sehingga mengakibatkan rendahnya hasil belajar yang dicapai siswa. Oleh karenaitu, diperlukkan bantuan untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, misalnya dengan cara memberikantes diagnostik di awal pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahuikelayakan dari produk yang dikembangkan, (2) mengetahui profil miskonsepsi siswa padamateri usaha dan energi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan denganmenggunakan model 4D untuk menghasilkan produk berupa tes diagnostik miskonsepsi padamateri usaha dan energi berbasis Adobe Flash. Uji kelayakan dilakukan melalui uji validitasahli materi, ahli media, praktisi yaitu guru mata pelajaran fisika, serta uji validtas empirikdengan mengambil 9 orang siswa kelas XI. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan instrumenberupa angket yang selanjutnya dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan deskripsi kualitatif.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tes diagnostik yang dikembangkan berdasarkan penilaianahli materi diperoleh nilai rata-rata 3,66, ahli media diperoleh rata-rata 4,33, guru fisika diperoleh rata-rata 4,06, serta penilaian oleh 9 orang siswa rata-rata menilai 4,22. Seluruhnilai rata-rata menunjukkan bahwa produk yang dikembangkan berada pada kategori layak.Profil miskonsepsi siswa 9 orang setiap konsep pada materi usaha dan energi dengan ratarata sebesar 41,07%. Urutan konsep yang teridentifikasi miskonsepsi dari yang memiliki persentase tertinggi adalah sebagai berikut: Usaha pada gaya non konservatif (77,7%),Hubungan usaha dengan perubahan energi kinetik (66, 6%), Grafik energi mekanik (55,5%),Hukum Kekekalan Energi Mekanik (44,4%), Hubungan usaha dengan perubahan energi potensial (33,3%), Energi mekanik (22,2 %), Hukum Energi Kekeka lan Energi Mekanik(22,2%), dan Pengertian Usaha (22, 2%)

Abstract

The learning process so far has only been based on textbooks. In addition, teachers still use minimal media in learning so it has an impact on the low analytical ability of students. This study aims to determine 1). The feasibility level of learning videos assisted by the Drawing Sparkol Videoscribe animation developed by researchers, 2) Student responses to learning videos. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) model. The model uses Robert Maribe Branch's version of ADDIE. The instrument used is a questionnaire. Product validation is carried out by media experts, material experts and has been tested in class XI IPA as many as 10 students. The results showed that the development of physics learning videos assisted by the Drawing Sparkol Videoscribe animation was very feasible to be used as a learning medium. Feasibility is shown based on the assessment of material experts getting an average percentage value of 96.36% including in the very feasible category, media expert assessment getting an average percentage value of 91.76% including in the very feasible category, and the assessment of student responses getting an average value the percentage of 87.06% is included in the very good category used in learning.

Abstract

The learning process so far has only been sourced from textbooks, resulting in a low understanding of physics concepts owned by students. In addition, the learning model that is less varied makes students not actively involved in learning. The active physics E-Module with an Information Search approach provides new treasures in the learning process that increases the activeness and independence of students in learning. The purpose of this study was designed to determine (1) the feasibility of the product in the form of physics E-Module teaching materials that are integrated with Information Search type active learning, (2) to find out the students' responses to the active physics E-Module teaching materials with an Information Search approach that was developed. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) research with a 4D model but is limited to 3 stages, namely the Define stage, Design (Design); and Development (Development) on a limited trial. The instrument used in this research is a questionnaire on the feasibility of the material and media as well as a practitioner response questionnaire with a Likert scale. The results showed that the active physics E-Module with an Information Search approach was feasible to use in physics learning based on expert judgment with an acquisition percentage of 84.4% included in the "Very Eligible" criteria. (2) the percentage of students' responses to the development of an active physics E-Module with an Information Search approach is 85.9% which is included in the "Very Good" category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media simulasi Physics Education Technology (PhET) terhadap sikap ilmiah siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sumbawa Besar tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Jenis penelitian ini adalah true eksperimental dengan desain penelitian posttest-only control design. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 2 Sumbawa Besar pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Populasi dalam penelitian yaitu kelas VIII yang terdiri dari delapan kelas. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu cluster random sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu kelas VIII 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII 8 sebagai kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pemberian angket sikap ilmiah pada siswa. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan uji normalitas menggunakan rumus chi kuadrat, uji homogenitas dengan menggunakan rumus F dan untuk menguji hipotesisnya digunakan rumus uji Z test. Hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai Zhitung = 5, 863, sedang nilai Ztabel = Z/2 = Z0,05/2 = Z0,025 = 1,960. Jadi, Zhitung = 5, 863 > Ztabel = 1,960, maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa media simulasi Physics Education Technology (PhET) berpengaruh terhadap sikap ilmiah siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sumbawa Besar tahun ajaran 2014/2015.

Abstract

The use of appropriate media is minimal in physics learning today, which impacts students' lack of motivation and indirectly affects their learning outcomes. A direct learning model with interactive multimedia is an alternative solution during the current pandemic. This study aims to improve students' understanding of physics concepts by applying a direct learning model with interactive multimedia. This is a quasi-experimental research with a pretest-posttest control group design using a purposive sampling technique. Forty-five respondents were divided into two groups, experimental and control. N-Gain was used to determine the high increase in both groups. The test was used to collect data on students' conceptual understanding in the form of a description with a total of 5 questions. In addition to the N-Gain, a t-test was also conducted to test the mean difference of the data. The findings revealed that the understanding of the concepts of the two groups had increased, where the experimental group was 40.3, and the control group was 35.8 but did not differ significantly. It can be concluded that the understanding of the fluid concept of the experimental class students is not better than the control class students.

Abstract

The climate of a region is strongly influenced and determined by the amount of rainfall in the region. Therefore, knowing the results of rainfall predictions in that area will provide an overview of the climatic conditions that will occur so that anticipatory steps can be taken against unwanted possibilities. This study aims to make predictions of rainfall in Sumbawa Regency for 2023 using a Backpropagation Neural Network. The data used is rainfall data from 2008 to 2022 recorded at the Sultan Muhammad Kaharuddin Meteorological Station. Data Processing is carried out in three stages, namely the data normalization stage, the data training stage, and the data testing stage. The prediction results obtained show that the highest rainfall occurs at the beginning and end of the year, namely January, February, March, and April with rainfall of 343,4 mm/month, 421,3 mm/month, 295,2 mm/month, and 134,1 mm/month. Whereas at the end of the year it takes place in November (178.8 mm/month) and December (223.7 mm/month). The precipitation decline graph (start of dry season) starts from May (24.2mm/month) to September (22.1mm/month) with a dry peak in July (2mm/month). Whereas for the end of the year it takes place in November (302,1 mm/month) and December (308,4 mm/month). The decrease in rainfall (early dry season) begins in May (51,7 mm/month) to October (66 mm/month) with the peak of the dry season in June to August (0 mm/month).

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mendampingi dan mempersiapkan siswa SMA Negeri 4 Sumbawa dalam menghadapi olimpiade sains nasional (OSN) dalam bidang Matematika, Fisika, dan Astronomi pada tingkat lokal (kabupaten). Manfaat yang diperoleh siswa SMA Negeri 4 Sumbawa setelah dilakukan kegiatan ini adalah mampu dalam menguasai materi dan mampu dalam mengerjakan soal-soal Olimpiade Matematika, Fisika, dan Astronomi. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pendampingan adalah pembahasan soal-soal latihan olimpiade dan tanya jawab. Hasil kegiatan pendampingan pada bidang Matematika dan Fisika belum terdapat perubahan yang signifikan, serta kendala yang dihadapi peserta OSN tingkat kabupaten dari SMA Negeri 4 Sumbawa adalah kemampuan matematika. Selain itu perolehan ranking siswa SMAN 4 Sumbawa pada bidang Astronomi meningkat dari tahun sebelumnya berada pada posisi 21 menjadi pada posisi 9 di tahun 2018.
