Abstract

This research analyzes healthcare service quality and its impact on inpatient satisfaction among National Health Insurance-Contribution Assistance Recipient (JKN-PBI) participants at Muyang Kute Regional General Hospital, Bener Meriah Regency, Indonesia. Employing a descriptive-analytical survey design with a cross-sectional approach, data was collected from 69 randomly selected JKN-PBI inpatients using questionnaires. The study examined five service quality dimensions: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, empathy, and assurance, and their relationship with patient satisfaction. Bivariate analysis using the Chi-square test revealed that reliability (p=0.003) and assurance (p=0.000) significantly influenced patient satisfaction, while tangibles, responsiveness, and empathy did not show statistically significant relationships (p>0.05). Reliability and assurance, reflecting consistent service delivery and staff competence, were crucial in fostering patient trust and satisfaction. Empathy, though not statistically significant, showed a trend towards positively influencing satisfaction, indicating a need for improvement in patient-centered care. The findings highlight the importance of reliability and assurance in enhancing JKN-PBI patient satisfaction. Recommendations include implementing training programs to improve staff empathy, maintaining high standards in reliability and assurance, and continuous patient feedback monitoring.

Abstract

Abstract

Neutrophils occur in periodontitis, an infection of the periodontal tissue that may increase the risk of diabetes. Because of its excellent physicochemical properties and biological capabilities, hydrogel is a promising biomaterial for treating periodontal disease. This study consisted of four groups of Acemannan hydrogel 25%, 50%, 75%, and the Federer formula was used to determine the sample size and six replicate experiments were performed for each group to form a positive control group. Considering the investigation's conclusions, in the acemannan hydrogel administration group, the average ± SD levels of neutrophils in samples on day 3 were 25%, 50%, and 75%, and the positive control group was 3.08 ± 0.736. 2.46 ± 0.459; 1.54 ± 0.510; 1.17 ± 0.258. This value decreased to 1.83 ± 0.258 by day 5 were 1.29 ± 0.459; 0.50±0.447; 0.21 ± 0.292. As a result of the Kruskal-Wallis statistical test, there was a significant difference in the average number of neutrophils after administering 25%, 50%, and 75% Acemannan hydrogel and the positive control group to rats with alloxan-induced Wistar periodontitis on the third and fifth days. The study's findings suggest that 75% of acemannan hydrogel is the most effective concentration for reducing neutrophils

Abstract

Dental caries remains a significant global public health issue, particularly among school-aged children. A lack of knowledge regarding oral health maintenance is considered a primary contributing factor to the high prevalence and severity of caries in this demographic. This study aimed to analyze the influence of oral health maintenance knowledge on the severity of dental caries in Grade 6 students at SDN No. 060833. An analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted. A total of 39 students were selected using simple random sampling. Data on knowledge were collected using a validated questionnaire, while caries severity was assessed through direct oral examination and categorized as pit fissure caries, superficial caries, medium caries, or profound caries. Data analysis employed univariate and bivariate methods using the Chi-Square test. The majority of students (64.1%) had poor knowledge of oral health maintenance. The most common caries severity was superficial caries (35.9%), followed by medium caries (30.8%). Bivariate analysis revealed a statistically significant relationship between knowledge level and caries severity (p-value = 0.000). Students with poor knowledge were more likely to experience medium and profound caries. There is a significant influence of the level of knowledge about oral health maintenance on the severity of dental caries in Grade 6 students. Efforts to improve oral health knowledge through targeted education programs in schools are essential to prevent and reduce the severity of dental caries.
