Abstract

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 has driven significant changes in the education system, including in Indonesia, with the introduction of the Independent Curriculum. The Industrial Revolution 4.0 has brought significant changes to various aspects of life, including the education sector. This era is marked by the integration of digital, physical, and biological technologies that change the way humans live, work, and learn. Education, as the foundation for human resource development, must adapt to these changes to prepare the younger generation to face future challenges and opportunities. The method used is a literature study analysis of various previous studies and case studies. The results of the study show that the Independent Curriculum has the potential to improve 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and digital literacy. However, significant challenges in its implementation include lack of teacher understanding, limited infrastructure, and differences in readiness between regions. The Independent Curriculum shows potential in improving student competencies, especially in terms of critical thinking skills, creativity, collaboration, and digital literacy. The implementation of the Independent Curriculum at various levels of education faces a number of challenges. This study reveals that the Independent Curriculum has the potential to bring positive changes to the Indonesian education system by improving student competencies in accordance with the demands of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. Technology support, teacher training, and community involvement have proven to be important for successful implementation. Recommendations include the development of contextual learning modules, increased technology support, and holistic assessment. These findings provide insights for the development of better education policies in the digital era.

Abstract

Background. Listening is a complex skill involving attentive listening, understanding oral symbols, appreciation, content capture, and comprehension of communication through spoken language. It is a fundamental skill in language learning that supports other language abilities. Purpose. This study aims to investigate the utilization of the Spotify application in improving English listening skills among sixth-semester English Tadris students at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Keguruan, Universitas Islam Negeri Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar. Method. The research employs a quantitative approach with a survey design. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire comprising 24 statements, distributed to each student in the class. The population consisted of sixth-semester English Tadris students at the university, with a sample size of 37 participants. The questionnaire's reliability was established with an RPB for each item greater than the r table (0.325) and a Cronbach's alpha of 0.831. Results. The assessment results indicate a positive response from students regarding the use of the Spotify application for improving their listening skills. Students reported that various features available on Spotify, along with its accessibility, contributed to enhancing their listening abilities. Conclusion. The study concludes that the Spotify application is a valid and reliable tool for improving students' English listening skills. Its effectiveness is attributed to the diverse features offered by the application and its convenience of use. These findings suggest that Spotify can be a valuable resource for language learners seeking to enhance their listening proficiency.

Abstract

Many previous studies have reported that there are many different impacts of the application of mobile learning in improving students' critical thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effect of mobile learning on critical thinking skills in early childhood teacher candidates through meta-analysis. In this study, 27 studies that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed. The inclusion criteria in this study are 1) the research was published in 2021-2024; 2) the research must be relevant; 3) research must be reputable indexed by SINTA or Scopus; 4) The research must report complete data. The data was analyzed using Excel and JASP applications by presenting the results of effect size, funnel plot, and publication bias. The results of the analysis concluded that mobile learning had a positive influence on the critical thinking ability of prospective early childhood education teachers compared to other learning (g = 1.204; 95% CI 1.007; 1.401; p < 0.001). (This finding informs that mobile learning is effective in improving the critical thinking skills of prospective early childhood education teachers.

Abstract

The primary objective of this study was to identify the levels of speaking anxiety among students at STT Migas Balikpapan, with a specific focus on Geology Engineering students. Speaking is often regarded as one of the most challenging skills to master in English language learning, particularly for EFL learners, due to its unpredictable nature and the real-time processing it demands. The method of the research is a qualitative design was employed, utilizing a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire to gather data from 30 participants. The analysis revealed that a significant proportion of students experience varying degrees of anxiety, with 50% classified as anxious or very anxious. Key factors identified include low self-confidence, fear of negative evaluation, and limited exposure to authentic speaking situations. The findings underscore the necessity for educators to foster a supportive classroom environment and implement strategies to alleviate anxiety, thereby enhancing students' speaking performance. This research contributes to the existing literature on language anxiety and provides valuable insights for future studies aimed at addressing speaking anxiety in EFL contexts.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan energi dewasa ini sangat banyak dirasakan seiring dengan semakin majunya ilmu pengetahuan serta teknologi serta pembangunan. Energi yg paling diperlukan manusia untuk menunjang kehidupan salah satunya adalah energi listrik. salah satu upaya untuk mengatasi krisis energi tersebut ialah dengan cara memanfaatkan sumber energi alternatif antara lain adalah Pembangkit Listrik. Pembangkit listrik tenaga uap (PLTU) adalah pembangkit listrik yang memanfaatkan energi panas dari uap yang digunakan untuk memutar turbin supaya dapat membangkitkan energi listrik melalui generator. Salah satu komponen penting untuk mendukung kinerja PLTU pada pembangkit dalam memanfaatkan energi thermal adalah Low Pressure Heater (LPH). Low Pressure Heater memanfaatkan panas yang bersumber dari ekstraksi atau uap ekstraksi dari turbin yang berfungsi sebagai pemanas pemula untuk memanaskan air demin yang menuju ke dearator. Pada artikel ini akan dianalisa mengenai tingkat penyerapan panas pada LPH terhadapat penghematan bahan bakar batubara pada PLTU PT. X. Beban yang digunakan untuk menganalisa penyerapan panas pada LPH terhadap penghematan bahan bakar batubara, yaitu bervariatif dari data yang diambil pada Unit 3 PLTU PT. X. Berdasarkan hasil analisa LPH 4 dan 5 dari beban operasi minimal, medium dan maksimal pada LPH 4 diperoleh nilai penyerapan panas berturut-turut sebesar 2.820.237 kcal/h, 3.742.064 kcal/h dan 6.512.385 kcal/h yang mengakibatkan penghematan batubara yang dapat dihemat dari beban minimal, medium, dan maksimal sebesar 0,793 Ton, 1,052 Ton, dan 1,82 Ton  dan pada LPH 5 diperoleh nilai penyerapan panas berturut-turut sebesar 3.863.280 kcal/h, 5.834.317 kcal/h dan 9.645.752 kcal/h yang mengakibatkan penghematan batubara yang dapat dihemat dari beban minimal, medium dan maksimal sebesar 1,086  Ton, 1,64  Ton, dan 2,711 Ton, dan kondisi naiknya beban minimal, medium, dan maksimal di ikuti oleh kenaikan besaran penyerapan panas yang di kembalikan ke system yang mengakibatkan efisiensi batubara juga akan seamakin meningkat.

Abstract

Penghijauan merupakan sebuah pemulihan dari suatu kerusakan yang terjadi di lingkungan. Pemulihan yang dilakukan dengan penghijauan merupakan pemulihan yang akan membuat lingkungan dapat menghasilkan serta memiliki fungsi sebagai pengatur dan pelindung. Penghijauan dapat dilakukan melalui kegiatan penanaman pohon. Penanaman pohon diutamakan dilakukan untuk penanganan lahan kritis dan daerahndaerah yang rawan terhadap banjir serta daerah dengan tingkat polusi yang tinggi. Penanaman pohon juga penting dilakukan di tempat dengan aktivitas manusia yang tinggi seperti lingkungan sekolah, kampus, dan perkantoran, hal ini dapat meningkatkan keasrian, kebersihan udara, dan lingkungan yang sehat. Oleh karena itu, tim dosen STT Migas bekerjasama dengan PT. Elnusa Tbk memanfaatkan area lahan yang masih kosong untuk penanaman pohon dengan tujuan yang ingin dicapai yaitu penghijauan lingkungan kampus agar lebih asri dan bersih, lingkungan yang lebih segar, nyaman, dan indah, meningkatkan kesadaran civitas kampus akan pentingnya penghijauan lingkungan diantaranya mahasiswa, dosen, dan karyawan serta peningkatan kualitas lingkungan hidup. Penanaman jenis pohon yang ditanam antara lain yaitu penanaman pohon buah-buahan yaitu alpukat, kedondong, dan kelengkeng. Dimana sebelum dilakukan penanaman terlebih dahulu menyiapkan titik atau lubang penanaman pohon yang sebelumnya sudah diberi pupuk, dan ada sekitar 10 titik penanaman. Diharapkan dengan adanya kegiatan ini dapat memberikan manfaat lebih bagi lingkungan sekitar.

Abstract

This study investigates the dynamics of Multicultural Education, Cultural Identity, and Political Participation in shaping Minority Rights Awareness in Jakarta. A sample of 200 participants provided demographic insights, and a comprehensive structural equation modeling analysis was conducted. The measurement model established reliability and construct validity, with discriminant validity supporting the differences. The structural model revealed that Multicultural Education significantly influenced Minority Rights Awareness, along with substantial impacts of Cultural Identity and Political Participation. This research contributes to the broader discourse on multiculturalism, cultural identity, and political engagement, guiding targeted interventions to increase minority rights awareness in Jakarta.

Abstract

Di era globalisasi dan digitalisasi saat ini, keterampilan berbicara di depan umum tidak hanya diperlukan oleh para profesional di bidang komunikasi, tetapi juga oleh semua individu yang ingin meningkatkan karier dan personal branding mereka. Public speaking tidak hanya mencakup kemampuan berbicara dengan baik di depan banyak orang, tetapi juga mencakup keterampilan mendengarkan, mempengaruhi, dan membujuk audiens. itu tujuan pelaksanaan pengabdian ini untuk mengasah keterampilan berbicara di depan umum dapat membantu seseorang menjadi komunikator yang lebih baik, baik dalam hubungan personal maupun sosial. Kemampuan ini juga dapat meningkatkan rasa percaya diri dan harga diri seseorang, karena mereka merasa lebih mampu menyampaikan pikiran dan perasaan mereka dengan jelas dan efektif. Kegiatan PKM ini dilakukan di SMA Karya Sahari, Kab. Bulukumba pada tanggal 4 dan 5 Maret 2024. Kegiatan pelatihan dilakukan dua kali dengan pertimbangan berbagai keterbatasan, termasuk keterbatasan para pelaksana, mitra, dan objek sasaran program, agar semua dapat berjalan lancar tanpa gangguan. Penggunaan kuesioner sebagai instrumen penilaian kuantitatif juga dilakukan untuk mendapatkan indikator numerik dalam kegiatan ini.Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan pelatihan public speaking di SMA Karya Sahari pada 4-5 Maret 2024 sangat efektif. Data menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan public speaking peserta, termasuk kepercayaan diri, penyusunan presentasi, dan pengelolaan kecemasan. Pelatihan ini bermanfaat dalam pengembangan soft skill dan mempersiapkan generasi muda menghadapi tantangan dunia nyata.
