At Kaliboto Posyandu, the under-five population was studied by taking samples using the Slovin formula and obtaining 85 respondents who met the criteria of being parents and having children under the age of five (aged 3-5 years). The instruments used were a questionnaire for parents and the Denver Development Screening Test (DDST) sheet to measure children. Data analysis using Spearman rankResult: The results showed that 57.6% of parents practiced democratic parenting, and 62.4% of children under the age of five showed normal child development. The results of bivariate analysis with Spearman Rank obtained a p value of 0.000 and a positive correlation coefficient value of 0.547.Conclusion: There is a relationship between parenting style and the development of medium-strength preschool-aged children at Posyandu Kaliboto. The parenting style applied by the majority is democratic, and the majority of preschool-aged children are normal. It is expected to be the basis for parents to apply parenting in a democratic manner in order to optimize the development of preschool children.

Abstract

Background: Balancing dual roles as a professional and a student is a significant challenge, especially for women in the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) field. Resilience is crucial for managing these responsibilities while ensuring workplace safety. Objective: This study examines the lived experiences of women pursuing postgraduate education while working full-time in OHS, focusing on factors contributing to resilience.Method: A qualitative phenomenological approach was used to explore participants' experiences. Two postgraduate students from Universitas Gadjah Mada, aged 18–45 years and actively employed in OHS, were recruited through purposive sampling. Semi-structured interviews were conducted via Zoom, addressing challenges, coping strategies, and institutional support. Data were analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis, with validation techniques including member checking and triangulation. Results: Four themes emerged: social support, adaptive coping strategies, self-efficacy, and institutional flexibility. Emotional support from family, practical assistance from colleagues, effective time management, self-reflection, and accommodating workplace policies were key enablers of resilience. These factors collectively supported participants in balancing dual roles while maintaining workplace safety. Conclusion: This study highlights the importance of targeted support systems to enhance resilience among working students in demanding fields like OHS. Insights from this research provide a framework for institutions and policymakers to address challenges and promote safer, healthier workplaces.

Abstract

Background: The number of dysmenorrhea in Indonesia is 64,25%. About 54,98% had primary dysmenorrhea, and 9,36% had secondary dysmenorrhea. The continuity of abdominal muscle contraction causes the pain of dysmenorrhea during the menstrual period. A combination of gentle massage and linalool in aromatherapy will stimulate the hypothalamus to produce endorphin hormones to reduce the tension of the uterus’s muscle due to the menstrual. Objective: To know the effect of combining petrissage massage with Cananga aromatherapy for dysmenorrhea in teenage girls at senior high school. Methods: This research used Pre Experimental method with one group pretest-postest approach. The population for this study is 540 people. The sampling technique used a rule of thumb by the number of 30 people of teenage girls at the high school. A parametric test and paired t-test processed the data.Result: After giving intervention was available, 28 respondents (93%) with dysmenorrhea reduced, and 2 respondents (7%) remained dysmenorrhea. The analysis result was obtained with a p = 0,000 (p<0,05), which showed the effect of combining petrissage massage with Cananga aromatherapy for dysmenorrhea. Conclusion: A combination of petrissage massage with Cananga aromatherapy can reduce dysmenorrhea

Abstract

Background: Insufficient breast milk production remains a major barrier to successful exclusive breastfeeding and may negatively affect infant weight gain. Therefore, efforts to enhance lactation using natural galactagogues are needed. Bangun-bangun leaves (Plectranthus amboinicus) are traditionally believed to increase breast milk production. Objective: This study aimed to examine the effect of bangun-bangun leaves combined with lemon on infant weight gain. Methods: quasi-experimental study with a posttest control group design was conducted among 30 breastfeeding mothers. The intervention group (n = 15) received bangun-bangun leaves combined with lemon in the form of brewed tea (200 ml/day) for 14 days, while the control group (n = 15) received no intervention. Moderating variables reflecting breast milk adequacy and the primary outcome was infant weight change, categorized as weight gain or no weight gain. Data were analyzed using Fisher’s exact test due to the categorical data and small sample size.. Results: The analysis showed a statistically significant effect of the intervention on infant weight gain (p = 0.04). All infants (100%) in the intervention group experienced weight gain, whereas 33.3% of infants in the control group showed no weight gain. Conclusion: The combination of bangun-bangun leaves and lemon may serve as a potential natural galactagogue to support breast milk production and promote infant weight gain. These findings provide preliminary evidence supporting the use of bangun-bangun leaves combined with lemon as a natural and accessible intervention to improve breastfeeding outcomes, although further studies with larger samples and objective measurements are needed.

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting, a condition where toddlers have a height significantly below the normal for their age, remains a serious issue in Indonesia, including the city of Surakarta. This has serious implications for a child's physical and cognitive development. Factors contributing to stunting are divided into direct factors (maternal nutrition, feeding practices, exclusive breastfeeding) and indirect factors (healthcare, education, environmental sanitation). Addressing stunting requires the involvement of healthcare professionals and community health volunteers. Effective training is crucial to enable kader to play a significant role in this effort.Method: This community engagement introduces the Siganting Program, a mobile application designed for stunting prevention. The program was presented to healthcare professionals and kader in Surakarta through lectures and discussions. Pre- and post-tests were used to assess participants' understanding of the program. Results: The Siganting Program successfully increased participants' understanding of stunting prevention. Before the program introduction, the average pre-test score was 76.4%, while the post-test showed 100% comprehension among participants. Conclusion: The Siganting Program is a valuable tool for stunting prevention and management, especially for mothers with infants under two years old. It can help Surakarta move closer to its goal of reducing stunting prevalence to zero. This mobile application provides accessible and flexible support for mothers and has been well-received by healthcare professionals and kader. The use of technology like Siganting can assist in achieving a significant reduction in stunting rates in Surakarta and its surrounding areas.
