Abstract

Islamic education plays a central role in building human civilization and shaping a complete Muslim personality (kaffah). This paper aims to examine the nature, foundation, objectives, and curriculum of Islamic education, as well as its implementation in educational institutions. The essence of Islamic education is defined as a conscious, planned, and continuous effort to develop physical, intellectual, and spiritual potential based on the Qur'an and Hadith. Its primary foundation is based on the revelation of Allah and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad as a guide to life. The goal of Islamic education is to form a perfect human being who possesses a balance between faith, knowledge, and good deeds, and is able to fulfill his function as a servant of Allah ('abdullah) and caliph on earth. The applied curriculum is integrative and holistic, combining religious and general knowledge without dichotomy. The implementation of Islamic education in institutions such as madrasas and Islamic boarding schools emphasizes exemplary behavior (uswah), habituation (ta'dib), and teaching relevant to the challenges of the times and technology.

Abstract

The Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) program is a public policy designed to expand access to education for children from underprivileged families and realize equal distribution of learning opportunities throughout Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of the KIP policy in reducing the dropout rate and review the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. The method used is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach, referring to Mustari's public policy theory in Suaib et al. (2022) which highlights four main elements: Input, goals, instruments, and impact. The data was obtained through a review of scientific journals, official government reports, and national news related to the implementation of KIP. The results of the analysis show that the KIP policy plays an important role in reducing the dropout rate and increasing educational participation, especially in urban areas. However, the effectiveness of the program still faces obstacles in the form of inaccurate recipient data, delays in disbursement of funds, and limited educational infrastructure in the 3T area. The positive impact can be seen from the increasing public awareness of the importance of education and the opening of opportunities for equal access to learning. In conclusion, KIP is a socially effective policy but is not fully optimal in terms of administration and technology. Strengthening the integrated data system, increasing digital literacy, and adjusting the nominal amount of assistance are strategic steps to increase sustainability and equitable distribution of program benefits.

Abstract

The limited availability of adequate learning media in beauty services business management education has resulted in decreased student engagement and reduced entrepreneurial interest in vocational beauty programs. This study developed and validated an innovative flipbook-based e-module that uniquely integrates theoretical business management principles with industry-specific practical applications for beauty services operations. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) methodology using the systematic ADDIE model across five phases: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Unlike conventional static digital materials, the developed e-module featured interactive 18-page content with multimedia integration, page-turning animations, embedded assessment tools, and comprehensive coverage of business planning, financial management, human resource management, marketing strategies, and risk management specifically contextualized for beauty services business operations. Expert validation demonstrated substantial improvement through iterative development, with material expert scores increasing from 73.3% to 93.3% and media expert scores from 85.0% to 90.0%, achieving an overall expert validation of 91.7%. Student practicality testing revealed 86.5% effectiveness, with notably higher performance in collaborative learning contexts (93.0%) compared to individual assessment (80.0%), empirically supporting social learning effectiveness in vocational education. The validated e-module successfully addressed critical gaps in specialized digital resources for vocational beauty education by combining theoretical knowledge with practical industry applications through an innovative flipbook format. This research contributes novel insights into interactive multimedia applications in vocational contexts and provides a replicable framework for developing industry-specific educational resources. The study's practical implications include enhanced student engagement in salon management education and improved preparation for beauty industry entrepreneurship, offering significant potential for widespread implementation in beauty education programs globally.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education for deaf students requires adaptive instructional strategies because auditory limitations make it difficult for them to fully understand religious material when it is delivered verbally. This study aims to develop and analyze a visual kinesthetic based learning strategy to enhance students’ understanding of basic Islamic worship practices, particularly wudu and prayer. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through observations, in depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the use of visual media (sequential images, demonstrative videos, and worship sign cards) combined with kinesthetic activities (prayer movement exercises, wudu simulations, and repeated demonstrations) significantly improves student engagement and strengthens procedural memory among deaf learners. This strategy also fosters greater confidence and independence in performing worship because learning is presented in a more concrete, structured, and meaningful manner. Therefore, visual kinesthetic based Islamic Religious Education instruction is proven to be an effective, inclusive, and responsive pedagogical approach that aligns with the unique learning needs of deaf students and offers practical recommendations for teachers in designing inclusive religious education.
