Abstract

This study aims to determine the leadership strategy used in improving members' skills and to find out the stages and inhibiting factors of activities related to improving the skills of members in the Organizational Special Activity Unit of the Indonesian Red Cross Voluntary Corps at UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi Higher Education. This research is field research, namely by collecting data in the field. This study uses interview techniques, observation, and interviews. The research results show that the Indonesian Red Cross Volunteer Corps Leadership Strategy to Improving Member Skills, namely providing teaching material and practice in accordance with the skills in their respective fields. The stages of activities involved in improving members' skills are basic room education and training, field education and training, permanent member education and training, joint training with Basarnas, basic organizational leadership training, and weekly member training. As for the supporting factors, the leader always instills a positive spirit in the members in the process of improving their skills of the members. While the inhibiting factors are first, the implementation of the role of administrators is not in accordance with basic organizational leadership training, second, some members have not been able to manage time between academics and organizations so members tend to do excessive activities, and third, regarding campus funding for organizational activities sometimes not according to what the manager said.

Abstract

Canva is a text-centric graphic design program frequently utilized for presentation materials. The implementation of the Canva application can assist and educate students in facilitating the creation of effective presentation materials. This community service initiative was conducted at the Al-Mujaddin Islamic Institute in Sabak, West Tanjung Jabung, Jambi, Indonesia, which has not fully utilized Canva. This community service initiative aims to train lecturers and students in enhancing their skills in developing effective presentation materials via Canva. This activity commences with the presentation of materials to the service participants, followed by training on how to produce presentation materials using Canva. Through presentation training and the use of the Canva application, lecturers and students are anticipated to effectively use these skills in the learning process of subjects necessitating technology-mediated presentations and to utilize presentation training appropriately. Prior to the training, many participants were unaware of the diverse features and advantages of the Canva application. Following the training, participants expressed satisfaction with their experience using Canva and acquired new knowledge and skills applicable to students. The utilization of the Canva application by participants is highly advantageous, enhancing interest, engagement, and self-assurance, which subsequently fosters creativity and comprehension of the subject matter. Recommendations entail offering professional development opportunities for professors and students, as well as delivering feedback to enhance the utilization of Canva in the classroom. This seminar highlights the potential of technology, namely the integration of Canva in educational settings, to improve motivation, creativity, and teamwork.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat (PKM) dalam bentuk sosialisasi ini adalah memberikan pemahaman kepada mahasiswa di IAI Yasni Bungo. agar mampu memberikan motivasi serta bisa bersinergi dengan masyarakat maupun Lembaga pendidikan serta penggiat pendidikan untuk bisa mempertimbangkan bahwa pendidikan dengan jenjang yang lebih tinggi merupakan bekal generasi penerus untuk mampu bersaing agar bisa berdayaguna di era 5.0 dalam pembangunan nasional. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah metode ceramah, diskusi dan tanyajawab. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 23 Mei 2023 . kegiatan ini melibatkan 21 mahasiswa IAI Yasni Bungo. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman peserta bahwa pendidikan menjadi sangat penting di era 5.0 dimasa perkembangan zaman pasar bebas yang bersaing dengan negara negara maju lainnya. Untuk itu, pendidikan akan berjalan baik jika dibarengi dengan dorongan orangtua dan lingkungan masyarakat. Dengan begitu masyarakat termotivasi dalam membangun generasi penerus melalui pendidikan tinggi dan layak agar terbentuk generasi muda yang siap bersaing secara kualitas dan kuantitas dalam menghadapi perkembangan zaman di masa mendatang.

Abstract

Classroom Action Research (CAR) plays a crucial role as a benchmark in improving teacher professionalism. Through the implementation of CAR, it is expected that teachers can identify elements that can be applied to enhance the quality of the learning process, ultimately contributing to the improvement of the national education quality. This community service research method applies the ABCD approach. The purpose of this activity is to provide scientific paper writing training on CAR for teachers. The expected outcomes of this activity are, first, the teachers' ability to understand and master the formulation of CAR, and second, the teachers' ability to conduct Classroom Action Research. The implementation of this activity is expected to enhance the knowledge and skills of training participants in creating scientific works on CAR, especially in formulating Classroom Action Research proposals. Additionally, participants are expected to be able to compose CAR papers in accordance with the procedures conveyed during the training.

Abstract

Community service conducted by the Islamic Education Management Study Program of UIN Sultan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi aims to improve teachers' understanding and skills in creating a conducive learning climate at the Laboratory Private Madrasah Aliyah, Jambi City. This study focuses on identifying problems that arise in the learning environment, such as the lack of physical comfort in the classroom, the lack of positive interaction between teachers and students, and the lack of understanding of the importance of learning climate in supporting students' academic and social development. As a solution, a training program was conducted by inviting 15 teachers to study and understand the concept of learning climate, its benefits, and techniques that can be applied to create a more comfortable and effective learning atmosphere. This training consisted of several sessions, including an introduction to the basic concept of learning climate, its benefits for the learning process, and interactive sessions such as group discussions and case studies. The evaluation results showed an increase in participants' understanding of the importance of creating a positive learning climate, as well as their readiness to apply these principles in daily teaching and learning activities. The program also identified several challenges that needed to be overcome, such as limited physical facilities and students' learning habits. Nevertheless, the program has succeeded in providing a positive impact in creating a more conducive learning environment, which is expected to improve the motivation and quality of student learning outcomes in madrasahs. The sustainability of this program is important to ensure a greater long-term impact on the development of education in madrasahs.

Abstract

Administrasi persuratan dan kearsipan adalah dua hal yang sangat penting dalam pengelolaan informasi di berbagai organisasi.  Dalam program pengabdian masyarakat ini, peserta diharapkan memahami dasar-dasar administrasi korespondensi, teknik penulisan surat yang baik dan benar, sistem klasifikasi arsip, serta prosedur pelestarian dan pemusnahan arsip sesuai dengan peraturan perundang-undangan. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk mendorong budaya tertib administrasi yang memfasilitasi kelancaran pelaksanaan tugas organisasi dan meningkatkan kepercayaan publik terhadap kinerja lembaga. Proses ini memiliki tujuan untuk menjamin kelancaran komunikasi baik internal maupun eksternal, serta memastikan bahwa semua surat dapat ditemukan kembali ketika dibutuhkan. Pelatihan diselenggarakan di aula kantor guru Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Laboratorium Jambi dalam bentuk Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PkM). Melalui pelatihan ini, selian peserta khusus yakni staf tenaga kependidikan.  Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian kepada masyaraat ini adalah dengan menggunakan metode parcipatory action research. menunjukkan pentingnya sistem pengelolaan administrasi yang tertata dengan baik untuk mendukung kelancaran operasional madrasah. Hasil dari kegiatan ini, para peserta memperoleh pemahaman dan keterampilan praktis dalam mengelola surat-menyurat dan arsip secara efisien. Dengan penerapan sistem pengarsipan yang rapi dan terstruktur, diharapkan proses administrasi di madrasah dapat berjalan lebih lancar, mengurangi risiko kehilangan dokumen penting, dan mempermudah pencarian dokumen yang dibutuhkan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation, evaluation, and management of the tahfidz Al-qur'an program at Ma'had Al-Jami'ah from the State Islamic University of Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. The method used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive analysis method. Interviews were conducted directly with the leaders of Ma'had, the tahfidz division, and the mudabbir. The results showed that the management of the Tahfidz Al-Qur'an Program at Ma'had Al-Jami'ah was running well. This program was implemented thanks to the collaboration between the academic community and a facilitator called Mudabbir, who is responsible for optimizing the process of memorizing the Qur'an, and providing a greater understanding of the importance of memorizing the Qur'an for students by adjusting the components of planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluation of the Tahfidz Al-qur'an Program. Ma'had Al-jami'ah continues to make adjustments to improve the quality of graduates and equip them with a deep understanding of the meaning of the Qur'an to increase students' faith and piety.
