Abstract

Culinary MSMEs play a strategic role in the Medan City economy, but the increase in the number of businesses has not always been followed by an increase in marketing performance. This study aims to analyze the influence of digital marketing, financial technology, and market orientation on the marketing performance of culinary MSMEs in Medan City. The study used an associative quantitative approach. The study population was MSMEs in Medan City, with a sample of 100 respondents determined through a purposive sampling technique. Data were obtained through research instruments and analyzed using validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumptions, multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficients of determination. The results showed that digital marketing had a positive and significant effect on marketing performance. Financial technology also had a positive and significant effect and was the variable with the largest contribution. Meanwhile, market orientation had a positive relationship, but did not have a significant effect partially. Simultaneously, all three variables had a significant effect on the marketing performance of culinary MSMEs in Medan City with an Adjusted R Square value of 0.697. These findings demonstrate the importance of integrating digital promotion, financial technology, and market understanding to strengthen the competitiveness of MSMEs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect, both partially and simultaneously, of independent variables financial literacy (X1), financial management (X2), and self-control (X3) on the dependent variable, which is financial behavior (Y) of employees at PT. Cipta Mebelindo Lestari. This research is motivated by the phenomenon of an increasing number of employee loans from 2023 to 2025 and the results of a pre-survey showing that employees’ understanding of finance has not fully translated into consistent financial behavior. The study uses multiple regression analysis with a population of 85 employees at PT. Cipta Mebelindo Lestari, where all members of the population are used as the research sample through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires and then processed with the help of SPSS. The research results show that individually, financial literacy (X1), financial management (X2), and self-control (X3) each have a positive and significant effect on financial behavior (Y), with financial management having the most dominant influence. Simultaneously, these three independent variables (X1, X2, X3) also have a positive and significant effect on financial behavior (Y), with the coefficient of determination (adjusted R Square) of 45.1%, while the remaining 54.9% is explained by other variables. These results highlight the importance of improving financial literacy, good financial management, and self-control to encourage healthier financial behavior among employees at PT. Cipta Mebelindo Lestari.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Financial Literacy, Financial Pressure, and Locus of Control on Financial Behavior among employees of PT. Sumatera Jaya Lippo, both partially and simultaneously. Sound financial behavior is essential for employees to rationally manage income, expenditure, and financial risk, given that many individuals still face an imbalance between income and expenses in their daily lives. This study employed a quantitative approach using primary data obtained through the distribution of questionnaires. The population consisted of all 76 employees of PT. Sumatera Jaya Lippo, with a saturated sampling technique applied so that the entire population served as the sample. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression, including the partial test (t-test), simultaneous test (F-test), and the coefficient of determination test (R²). The results show that Financial Literacy has a positive and significant effect on Financial Behavior (t-count 9.560 > t-table 1.993; sig. 0.000), contributing 54%. Financial Pressure also has a positive and significant effect (t-count 2.227; sig. 0.029), contributing 3%. Locus of Control has a positive and significant effect (t-count 2.773; sig. 0.007), contributing 9%. Simultaneously, the three variables have a positive and significant effect on Financial Behavior (F-count 46.191 > F-table 2.73; sig. 0.000), with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.658, meaning that 65.8% of the variation in Financial Behavior can be explained by these three variables. It can be concluded that Financial Literacy is the most dominant variable influencing employees' Financial Behavior. Abstract

Increasing business competition and the suboptimal use of digital marketing require culinary MSMEs in Medan City to improve their marketing performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of Digital Marketing, Entrepreneurial Competence, and Market Orientation on Marketing Performance. The theoretical framework is based on the Resource-Based View (RBV), supported by previous studies that indicate inconsistent empirical findings regarding the three variables. The study employed a quantitative approach with a causal associative method. The sample consisted of 100 culinary MSME owners in Medan City, determined using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed both directly and via Google Forms, supported by limited interviews and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS through instrument testing, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination. The results show that Digital Marketing and Entrepreneurial Competence do not have a significant partial effect on Marketing Performance, while Market Orientation has a positive and significant effect. Simultaneously, the three variables have a significant effect, with an R Square value of 0.205. The study concludes that Market Orientation is the most consistent factor in explaining the Marketing Performance of MSMEs in Medan City.
