Abstract

The main human need in carrying out life is in terms of interacting with others. In interacting of course humans communicate with each other. However, the interactions that were built through communication in the past and the digital era are now very different. The times have shifted the pattern of interaction to digital media where everyone can access it, especially the anonymous chat application. Therefore, this study aims to discuss the misuse of anonymous chat applications on anonymous chat user interaction patterns that trigger online prostitution. This type of research is included in qualitative research with a phenomenological approach where this research emphasizes the meaning of an action based on individual experience.

Abstract

Perilaku panic buying produk bundling yang alami oleh Kpopers tidak datang secara tiba-tiba. Media sosial memiliki peranan penting dalam mempengaruhi Kpopers untuk membeli barang dalam jumlah besar yang tidak biasa sebelum produk menjadi langka di pasaran. Penelitian ini ingin mengetahui bagaimana media memicu perilaku panic buying Kpopers serta apa saja yang menjadi faktor penyebab panic buying pada produk bundling Somethinc x NCT Dream. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan wawancara mendalam kepada Kpopers serta admin akun Twitter @NCTzenbase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku panic buying Kpopers dalam pembelian produk bundling Somethinc dikarenakan Twitter menjadi media fanbase mereka berinteraksi dengan penggemar dari Negara lain, Twitter menjadi media yang tidak bisa dihindari oleh Kpopers karena media ini menjadi tempat bertransaksi merchandise idol Korea yang mengakibatkan panic buying. Twitter memberikan persepsi dan pengalaman baru, serta menjadi pengikat antar Kpopers yang juga mendorong kepanikan pembelian. Faktornya yaitu karena eksklusivitas produk yang hanya dijual terbatas dan diunggah dalam Twitter, sehingga memicu ketakutan akan kehabisan produk.The panic buying behavior of bundled products experienced by K-pop fans (Kpopers) does not arise suddenly. Social media plays a significant role in influencing Kpopers to purchase goods in unusually large quantities before they become scarce. This research aims to understand how media triggers Kpopers' panic buying behavior and identify the factors causing panic buying of Somethinc x NCT Dream bundled products. The study employs descriptive qualitative methods, using observation and in-depth interviews with Kpopers and the Twitter account admin @NCTzenbase for data collection. The findings reveal that Kpoper panic buying behavior in purchasing bundled products is influenced by Twitter, a medium where their fanbase interacts with fans from other countries. Twitter is unavoidable for Kpopers as it is a platform for transacting Korean idol merchandise, leading to panic buying. Twitter provides new perceptions and experiences and acts as a unifying force among Kpopers, further encouraging panic buying. The exclusivity of the product, sold in limited quantities and advertised on Twitter, triggers fears of the product running out, contributing to the panic buying behavior.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze how NU online frames a Papuan case from 19 to 20 August 2019. NU Online's coverage is analyzed for news content and its efforts to understand, interpret, and implement peace journalism to alleviate tensions and conflicts. The concept of peace journalism is important to study and implement comprehensively. It seeks to be objective in presenting information and not provocative to minimize the potential for subsequent conflict. Entman framing analysis is used as the research method because it can see the reality constructs done by media by examining the process for selection and highlighting a particular aspect. Therefore, the main data were taken from NU Online coverage related to a Papuan college student's case. Through the content, the framing of NU Online editorial could be seen. Meanwhile, the conclusionof this research was that NU Online, as the official media of Pengurus Besar Nahdlatul Ulama had a coverage orientation that emphasized harmony and peace. Angle choice, title drafting, diction use, and source choice highlighted that NU Online focused on the aim to alleviate as well as support conflict solving.

Abstract

Technological advances that continue to develop make information accessible and consumed by the public quickly through social media. However, the impact of the use of social media needs to be considered by various groups of people, including Muslims. Social media can also be used as a medium of da'wah that influences society, especially Muslims, to always do good things according to the Qur'an and Hadith guidelines. This study aimed to explore the value of Islamic teachings from the Quran and Hadith, which can be used as the ethics of da’wa on social media. This study used qualitative method and took the form of a literature review. The main data sources used are various scientific literatures, both in the form of books and scientific journals, related to the discussion of ethical values in preaching on social media. While the secondary research data sources used are various scientific literature relevant to the core object of this research. The results of the study showed that there are various values in Islamic teachings that can be used as ethical values in da’wa on social media. Among these ethical values are: objective honesty based on facts; acting fairly and impartially in delivering lectures; and trying to apply the ethics of fairness and decency.

Abstract

The case of crimes against humans seems to never run out of time. More and more cases of crime continue to increase. The action of klithih in Yogyakarta became one of the cases of crime that always triggered the response of many people and returned to the news in the mass media until it entered the twitter tranding topic list. For the actions committed against the victims, namely teenage children who are still in the status of this school, the community urges the authorities to crack down firmly on the perpetrators and provide protection to the surrounding residents from acts of klithih atrocities. The research used qualitative methods with the approach of framing analysis model Zhoungdang Pan Gerald M. Kosicki to find out how the framing carried out by the online media of The Harianjogja.com Newspaper in delivering news related to klithih action in Yogyakarta. The results of this study showed that the media Harianjogja.com in its reporting showed that the tendency of news to lead to the truth of klithih. Regardless of tarnishing the name of the city of Yogyakarta as a city of culture and education. Emphasis related to criminal acts that exist in the perpetrators of kithih actions becomes the source or basis of news carried out by Harianjogja.com.

Abstract

The big idea of religious moderation is a solution to the problem of spreading radical and intolerant views in the millennial generation. Instagram Pondok Lirboyo and Serambi Lirboyo are Islamic boarding schools with many followers with religious moderation content. This study aims to determine the narrative characteristics of religious moderation and the visual communication structure of the millennial generation in the Serambi Lirboyo and Pondok Lirboyo accounts. This study uses qualitative methods through a virtual ethnographic approach. The main object of this study is religious moderation content on Instagram by Pondok Lirboyo and Serambi Lirboyo. Data collection techniques were carried out through participatory observation, interviews, and literature studies. The results are (1) the narrative characteristics of religious moderation emphasize the moral messages of compassion and mutual respect, preaching in a polite manner, and harmony between religion and nationalism. Meanwhile, the narrative form of religious moderation is packaged through past stories, wise sentences from masyayikhs and Islamic leaders, explanations with evidence, and language typical of the millennial generation. (2) The visual communication structure includes lines, shapes, forms, typography, values, and colors. At the same time, the principles of visual communication consist of symmetrical balance, elemental harmony, contrast, and pattern. The formulation of these visual communication components produces exciting content, especially for the millennial generation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang analisis framing berita Korean Wave di media pemberitaan online Kompas.com dan Republika.com. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis framing Robert N Entmant. Peneliti menganalisis proses media dalam membingkai dan menyeleksi suatu berita yang kemudian isu apa yang akan ditonjolkan oleh media tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media online Kompas.com dan Republika.com menyampaikan informasi serta bingkai berita yang berbeda. Media Kompas.com membingkai isu Korean wave sebagai sesuatu yang lumrah terjadi dan sedang digemari oleh para remaja. Sedangkan Republika.com dalam membingkai berita tentang Korean wave sebagai budaya yang bisa mempengaruhi cara berpikir bahkan menggerus identitas keIndonesiaan. Kedua media, sama-sama memberitakan Korean wave yang sedang banyak digemari remaja

Abstract

This essay discusses the construction of the news about implementing school entry rules for Senior High Schools (SMA), issued by the Governor of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Viktor Laiskodat, on kompas.com. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative approach with Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis model. To conclude from the research that has been conducted, kompas.com highlights the controversy arising due to such a policy implemented by the Governor of NTT regarding school entry time rules. In addition, kompas.com also compiles its news neutrally by presenting various viewpoints with pros and cons. The problem context highlighted by kompas.com is processed through a text writing strategy that uses a light and short language structure appropriate to social reality and accessible for the public to understand. Kompas.com also describes assorted realities that emerge with various titles but retain the same theme about the reported problem.

Abstract

The journalistic code of ethics, which is the heart of journalistic products and is a beacon in the world of journalism, is in fact still very vulnerable to being violated. This research aims to determine forms of violation of the journalistic code of ethics, not only based on the Indonesian journalistic code of ethics, but also using the journalistic code of ethics of South Korea, the country where this drama series originates. This research was conducted on the Korean drama series HUSH which aired in 2019 with 16 episodes. The author uses the Indonesian Press Council's journalistic code of ethics and the South Korean Press Code of Ethics to analyze the violations. Apart from that, the causes and consequences of violations of the journalistic code of ethics that occur can also be found. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with the Pierce model of semiotic approach. The research results showed that: (1) there were 5 cases that showed violations of the journalistic code of ethics. (2) the cause of the violation of the journalistic code of ethics was discovered, namely the existence of a special relationship between the high-ranking officials involved in the case and the leader of the Korean Daily, as well as considering that accepting bribes by people who work in the field of journalism is considered a normal thing.

Abstract

Islamic philanthropic organizations have been the people’s choice to distribute Zakat, Infaq, and Shadaqah. However, only a few realize that public relations is essential to maintaining relationships with audiences. NU Care LAZISNU East Java implements a public relations strategy to maintain public trust. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of public relations concepts in the Islamic philanthropic institution of NU Care LAZISNU, East Java. NU Care LAZISNU East Java, with various excellent programs, tries to build and maintain public trust as an institution that collects people’s funds and carries out a humanitarian mission. Thus, this research wants to examine further characteristics of public relations in Islamic philanthropic institutions to get a positive branding image. The method used qualitative research through interview techniques, observation, and documentation from NU Care LAZISNU, Scientific and Practical Basics of Islamic Communication East Java. The theory used to analyze is relationship management. The study results show that implementing public relations in the Islamic philanthropic institution at NU Care LAZISNU, East Java, is based on ethics, credibility, openness, trust, involvement, and mutual benefit principles. It is because this institution’s policies, activities, and programs are closely related to Islamic teachings in the form of the implementation of Zakat, Infaq, and Shadaqah. The public relations strategies are institutional identity, community involvement, publications, and events.
