Abstract

Understanding the meaning of education is very important for the formation of human character and intellect. In the Christian context, the Bible is the main reference source in understanding education in accordance with God's will. The meaning of education in this context is teaching, rules, regulations and all things related to educating, instructing and disciplining God's people, namely His human creation. However, in the current era of globalization, the challenges and dynamics of education have experienced significant changes. This article aims to conduct a critical review of the concept of the meaning of education according to the Bible and criticize its relevance in the digital era of globalization. Through studying Bible verses related to education, several basic things were identified, such as the importance of knowing God through reading the Bible, examining the purpose of education and God's teachings from the Old Testament to the New Testament and the time of the Holy Spirit. However, advances in digital technology have changed the landscape of the meaning of education, giving rise to new challenges, namely distractions from the meaning of education in the Bible. This article explores how the teaching or educational values that God gave to Adam and Eve reached the Israelites as HIS chosen nation, during the Old Testament, the New Testament and so on up to the present. Whether teaching or upbringing through God speaking directly, through the voices of prophets, apostles and the Holy Spirit: can it still be applied adaptively and transformatively to answer educational challenges in the era of globalization? This review emphasizes the need for a balanced educational approach between Biblical values and technological advances, starting with motivating a person so that there is a desire to find out through the desire to read the Bible. This will enable people, especially the younger generation of Christians, to understand the holistic meaning of education according to the Bible, which strengthens faith, character and skills needed to face the complexities of the times.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a Christian Religious Education learning module that is accessible and effective for children with special needs who are blind. The research method used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The analysis stage was carried out to identify the needs and characteristics of blind students as well as the obstacles faced in learning Christian Religious Education. At the design stage, a module design is created that takes into account aspects of accessibility and is appropriate to students' conditions through the use of audio media and other assistive technology. The development process involved the creation and validation of modules by material, design and language experts and was based on recommendations and input from specialist blind education teachers. Implementation is carried out through module trials in special schools that serve blind children. Evaluation is carried out to assess the effectiveness of the module based on feedback from teachers and students, as well as through measuring increases in understanding and skills and achievement of grades. The research results show that the module developed can increase the understanding and participation of blind students in learning Christian Religious Education. This module is also considered practical and easy for teachers to use. Recommendations are given for improving the module and implementing it in special schools, especially for students with visual impairments in order to support inclusive and equitable Christian religious education for all children.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the multimedia utilization and sermon themes on the spirituality of Christian adolescents at GMIM Sentrum Airmadidi. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The sampling technique used is probability sampling with purposive sampling. The findings showed that there was an influence of Multimedia Utilization (X1) on Christian Adolescent Spirituality (Y). This is based on the results of the t-test which states that the t-count value is 2,138 ≥ 2,042, while the significance value is 0.040 ≤ 0.05. However, the influence of Multimedia Utilization on Christian Adolescent Spirituality is negative. This can be seen from the regression equation Y = 44.833 + -0.94, meaning that for every 1% increase in the value of the variable, the value of the Christian Adolescent Spirituality variable will decrease by 0.94. Other test results also showed that there was an influence of the Sermon Theme (X2) on the Spirituality of Christian Adolescents (Y). This is evidenced by the results of the t-test which shows that the t-count value is 3.784 ≥ 2.042, while the significance value is 0.001 ≤ 0.05, with the regression equation Y = 44.833 + 0.643 (positive effect). This means that for every 1% increase in the value of the Sermon Theme, the value of the Christian Adolescemt Spirituality will increase by 0.643. Other findings also stated that based on the results of the f-test, it was found that the f-count value was 7.047 ≥ 3.32, while the significance value was 0.003 ≤ 0.05, this shows that the variables of Multimedia Utilization and Sermon Theme together have a positive and significant effect on the variable of Christian Adolescent Spirituality. The magnitude of the influence is 0.320 or 32%. While the remaining 68% was influenced by other factors that were not studied.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to obtain data regarding Pastoral Assistance for Adolescent Gadget and Internet Users in the Waldensian Seventh-day Adventist Church. The type of research used is literature study. The literature study method is a series of activities related to methods of collecting library data, reading and taking notes, and managing research materials (Zed, 2008). Literature study is a required activity in research, especially academic research whose main aim is to develop theoretical aspects as well as aspects of practical benefit. Research results show that to overcome the lack of interest of teenagers in church worship, it is important for churches and pastors to understand the perspectives and needs of teenagers, and to create an inclusive, relevant and empowering environment for them. This can involve creating engaging programs and activities, listening empathetically to their concerns and questions, and building strong relationships between youth and the church community.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of providing learning motivation and the effectiveness of learning PAK subjects on the learning achievement of State Middle School students in Manado City. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey research method whose design is associative descriptive. The sampling technique used is probability sampling with purposive sampling technique. The findings of this research show that there is an influence of the learning motivation variable (X1) on the learning achievement variable (Y). This is based on the results of the t test (partial) which states that the t-count value is 4,156 ≥ 2,048 (t-table value). This shows that there is an influence based on the results of the t test. It is also known that the significance value is 0.001 ≤ 0.05. Other test results also show that there is the influence of the learning effectiveness variable in PAK subjects (X2) on the learning achievement variable (Y). This is based on the results of the t test (partial) which states that the calculated t-value is 3,726 ≥ 2,048 as large as(t-table value). This shows that there is an influence based on the results of the t test. It is also known that the significance value is 0.001 ≤ 0.05. Other findings also state that based on the f test, it can be seen that the calculated f value is 39,393 ≥ 3.30 (F-table value), which means that there is an influence. Based on the results of the F test above, it is also known that the significance value is 0.001 ≤ 0.05, meaning, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, so it can be concluded that the variables providing learning motivation (X1) and learning effectiveness (X2) together have a significant effect on the learning achievement variable. (Y). This is also from the results of the coefficient of determination which shows that R square (R2) has a value of 0.738 or 73.8%. So it can be concluded that the magnitude of the influence of the variables providing learning motivation and learning effectiveness on student learning achievement is 0.738 (73.8%).
