Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the quality of the English for Nusantara textbook for eighth grade students based on Tomlinson's (2011) sixteen criteria for effective language learning materials. Using a qualitative content analysis method, the research focused specifically on one Chapters 0, 1, and 2 or one semester to examine the textbook's alignment with pedagogical principles such as learner engagement, authenticity, communicative purpose, and affective support. Data were collected using an evaluation rubric derived from Tomlinson's framework. The findings indicate that the textbook meets most of the criteria, particularly in terms of relevance, cultural integration, learner centered activities, and communicative input. However, the study also identifies areas for improvement, such as the inclusion of more authentic texts and differentiated tasks. Theoretically, this research contributes to the existing body of knowledge on effective language learning materials design by providing empirical evidence of how Tomlinson's principles manifest in government-issued textbooks. Practically, these results are expected to provide meaningful insights for educators, material developers, and policymakers in enhancing the design and use of English textbooks aligned with the Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

Purwabakti Tourism Village has great tourism potential, but the number of tourist visits is still low. In 2023, the village only received an average of 50 tourists per month, or around 0.19% of the total domestic tourists in Pamijahan Sub-district. Some of the factors that cause the low number of visits are not optimal tourism management, lack of supporting facilities, limited accessibility, and lack of promotion. This study aims to analyze the internal and external factors that influence the development of Purwabakti Tourism Village using SWOT analysis and formulate the right strategy to increase the village's tourism attractiveness. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection through interviews with the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), tourism managers, and representatives of the Bogor Regency Culture and Tourism Office. Field observations were also conducted to assess the condition of village tourism. Data were analyzed using SWOT analysis, then strategies were developed through TOWS Matrix In addition, strategy evaluation was conducted using the IFE (Internal Factor Evaluation) Matrix and the EFE (External Factor Evaluation) Matrix to determine the village's strategic position. The results showed that Purwabakti Tourism Village is in cell 6 in the IE Matrix, so the recommended strategy is the harvest strategy. This strategy focuses on optimizing existing resources to increase revenue without large investments. The main recommendations include improving tourism infrastructure, increasing promotion, and maintaining tourism sustainability. Through the implementation of this strategy, it is expected that the number of tourist visits will increase and the village can contribute more to the local economy.

Abstract

Abstract. Pancasila education has a high urgency in shaping the character and identity of the Indonesian people, lack of understanding of these values can weaken social awareness in the younger generation, which has an impact on the decline in involvement in the application of national values in the future. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Project Based Learning (PJBL) model assisted by Media Truth or Dare (Turdare) on the learning outcomes of Pancasila education in class V students in SDN 1 Sowan Lor. Quantitative research methods use non-Equivalent pretest-posttest designs with unequal control groups. The research sample consists of two classes, namely the experimental class that applies PJBL with Turdare media and control classes that use traditional lecture methods. Research tools in the form of multiple choice tests that have been tested for validity. The result of the normality test with a value of Sig 0.200 and homogeneity with a value of Sig 0.315 shows that data is normally distributed and homogeneous. The results of t-test in pairs of significance value of 0,000 indicate a significant difference between learning outcomes in the experimental class and the control class. The average post-test value in the experimental class of the difference of -27,400 experienced a more significant increase than the control class. This study indicates that the use of PJBL models with Turdare media has succeeded in improving student learning outcomes because it creates an active, fun, and meaningful learning environment. In this way, this model can be an option for teachers to improve learning outcomes, especially in learning Pancasila education in elementary schools. Keywords: Project-Based Learning, Truth or Dare Media, Pancasila Education, Learning Outcomes Abstrak. Abstract

This study describes the objectives of (1) physiological needs, (2) security needs, (3) love and belonging needs, (4) esteem needs, and (5) self-actualization needs of the main characters in the novels Adikku Pahlawanku by Fayanna Ailisha Daviany and Doa Untuk Mama by Najla Nurdiany Putri. The phenomena found in this study indicate that the two main characters, namely Tari and Aisyah, experience a layered process of fulfilling needs, starting from fulfilling basic needs such as food and health to higher psychological needs such as emotional support, appreciation, and self-development. In addition, this study found psychological tension in the form of economic anxiety, physical anxiety, and emotional conflict that affect the process of fulfilling the needs of the main characters, but in the end these needs can be fulfilled through the support of family and social environment. Data collection through the process of reduction, grouping, and interpretation of relevant quotes from both novels based on the categories of physiological needs, security, love and belonging, appreciation, and self-actualization in accordance with Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory. The research findings show that both novels display the dynamics of human needs as a whole. Tari and Aisyah are depicted as child characters capable of building emotional resilience through warm family relationships. This research’s contribution lies in explaining how children’s literature, particularly the novel KKPK, can serve as a medium for understanding the psychological development of child characters and its relevance to the formation of readers’ characters. Furthermore, this research enriches the study of literary psychology by demonstrating that Maslow’s theory can be effectively applied to children’s literary texts as objects of scientific study.
