Abstract

Latar Belakang: Latar belakang kegiatan ini dilandasi oleh pentingnya keterampilan menulis cerita pendek yang memuat nilai-nilai karakter dan keislaman dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan: Tujuan dari Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini adalah untuk melatih guru SMK YPM 5 Sukodono dalam mencipta cerita pendek dan menganalisis elemen-elemen sastranya. Metode: Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif analitis untuk menggambarkan isi dan struktur cerita pendek yang dihasilkan. Hasil: Hasil menunjukkan bahwa cerita pendek yang ditulis guru memiliki struktur naratif yang runtut, karakterisasi tokoh Rasulullah SAW yang kuat, serta tema edukatif seperti kepedulian sosial dan pentingnya menuntut ilmu. Kesimpulan: Kesimpulan, karya para guru tidak hanya inspiratif, tetapi juga menyampaikan nilai-nilai Islam secara kontekstual dan aplikatif. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan ini efektif dan perlu dikembangkan lebih lanjut untuk memperkaya pembelajaran berbasis literasi dan karakter.

Abstract

Language politeness is how to maintain one’s speech when communicating so as not to offend other people’s feelings. This research aims to describe the use of the greeting ”yang” as an application of the maxim of appreciation in traditional markets in Surabaya. The markets chosen to be research objects are Pucang Market, Pagesangan Market, Turi Market, Manukan Market, and Genteng Market. This research applies Geoffrey Leech’s politeness thepry. The research approach used is a qualitative approach with observational data collection techniques, determining markets, visiting designated markets, preparing recording equipment, visiting kiosks, recording people’s speech, and transcribing data. The data analysis technique uses descriptive methods. From the research results, it can be concluded that the results of data analysis amount to seven utterances that use the greeting ”yang” in the Surabaya traditional market. The purpose of using the greeting ”yang” in social interactions in traditional markets in Surabaya is very diverse, some of which aim to attract the attention of buyers to buy their wares, some to seduce buyers to buy their wares in large quantities, and some are used to appreciate fellow sellers and buyers.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of speaking skills of XII grade students at Al Islam Krian High School through the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model with CapCut media, especially in Indonesian language subjects. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II. The results obtained in cycle I, only 21.22% of students were complete in speaking skills, with an average score of 65.09. This was caused by students' lack of interest in the model and media used. After evaluation, in cycle II, the application of PjBL and the use of CapCut showed significant improvement. All students (100%) were successfully completed with the average score rising to 88.78. This research shows that the application of the PjBL model and CapCut media is effective in improving students' speaking skills, as well as making the learning process more interesting and creative. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for educators in applying more innovative learning methods, so that students can actively contribute to learning and improve their language skills optimally. Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve vocabulary acquisition of class VII-7 students of SMPN 1 Dawarblandong by using the snowball throwing learning method for descriptive text material. Classroom action research is used to identify difficulties faced in learning and solve real problems faced by educators in order to develop the quality of learning and learning achievement of students. The snowball throwing method means throwing snowballs to your own friends to be answered. The results of the implementation of the snowball throwing learning method to improve vocabulary acquisition in descriptive text material include several assessments consisting of vocabulary acquisition and formative assessments in the snowball throwing learning method. Cycle I assessment of student vocabulary acquisition averaged 78, so it can be said that the average still reaches the KKM value. However, cycle II changed the average to 82. The second assessment of the results of the assessment of self-ability or formative assessment in cycle I reached an average of 86. Meanwhile, cycle II increased with an average of 91. The value of the completion results accumulated with the vocabulary acquisition value and formative assessment using the snowball throwing learning method obtained a percentage of cycle I value of 93% while the student's completion value in cycle II was 100%. Therefore, it is concluded that the increase in vocabulary acquisition completeness through the snowball throwing learning method on the descriptive text material in class VII-7 SMPN 1 Dawarblandong increased classically from cycle I to cycle II as a whole. Abstract

Memiliki kemampuan menulis karya ilmiah populer tidak hanya bermanfaat untuk memenuhi tugas mata pelajaran, tetapi dapat memberi bekal kepada para peserta didik untuk menjadi komunikator, pemikir kritis, kreatif, dan imajinatif, serta dapat mendukung keberhasilan dalam pendidikan dan dunia kerja. Namun, berdasarkan observasi awal diperoleh informasi bahwa peserta didik kelas XII SMA Negeri 1 Kedamean kesulitan dalam menyusun karya ilmiah populer. Meskipun ada ektrakurikuler penulisan karya ilmiah, banyak peserta didik yang kesulitan untuk menemukan ide dan mengembangkan menjadi karya utuh. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karya ilmiah populer peserta didik kelas XII SMA Negeri 1 Kedamean. Caranya, dengan melaksanakan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa pelatihan dan pendampingan. Tim pelaksana program pengabdian kepada masyarakat terdiri atas 12 dosen program studi Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya dan 51 peserta. Hasil yang diperoleh dari pelatihan dan pendampingan, yaitu penilaian hasil karya tulis ilmiah populer yang dibuat oleh para peserta didik mencapai 71% sehingga mendapat kriteria kemampuan Baik. Hal tersebut disebabkan respon peserta didik terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan mencapai 96% dengan kriteria Sangat Positif. Berdasarkan penilaian hasil karya tulis ilmiah populer dan hasil angket berupa respon peserta dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan dan pendampingan yang telah dilakukan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karya ilmiah populer peserta didik kelas XII SMA Negeri 1 Kedamean, Gresik.

Abstract

This article will describe the use of the interrogative verb "how much" which is included in the scale implicature in the conversation of people in tourist attractions in Surabaya City. The method used in the study is a qualitative descriptive method. The data collection technique used is observation. The data source obtained in the study was the speech of people in tourist attractions in Surabaya City. The research data was obtained by recording conversations of people in five tourist attractions in Surabaya City with a cellphone. The theory used in the study is from George Yule. The results of the data analysis found seven uses of the interrogative verb "how much" to ask for the amount, three to ask for the price, and two data to ask for time.Keywords: how much; auxiliary word; question; tourismABSTRAKArtikel ini akan mendeskripsikan penggunaan kata bantu tanya “berapa” yang termasuk dalam implikatur berskala pada percakapan masyarakat di tempat wisata Kota Surabaya. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan kata aku sebagai eksplorasi diri dalam tuturan masrayakat di tempat wisata Kota Surabaya. Tuturan masyarakat di tempat wisata menjadi objek penelitian yang menarik karena akan ditemukan percakapan-percakapan yang natural tanpa dibuat-buat. Tuturan para pengunjung yang beragam tersebut yang menarik untuk diteliti terutama menggunakan deiksis persona. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian ini diperoleh seratus tiga puluh lima data deiksis persona yang mencakup di Taman Bungkul sebanyak tiga puluh satu data, di Kebun Binatang Surabaya sebanyak tiga puluh data, di Alun-Alun Surabaya sebanyak tiga puluh dua data, di Pantai Kenjeran sebanyak dua puluh lima data, dan di Wisata Hutan Mangrove Wonorejo sebanyak tujuh belas data. Wujud dan variasi bentuk kata yang ditemukan sebanyak dua ratus enam puluh wujud kata dan sembilan belas variasi bentuk kata yang mencakup tujuh variasi persona pertama, delapan variasi persona kedua, dan empat variasi persona ketiga. Dari penelitian ini, kita dapat memahami pentingnya penggunaan kata ganti yang tepat sebagai acuan agar komunikasi dapat berjalan dengan lancar.

Abstract

Language is an essential tool for communication. People use language to express feelings, desires, anxieties, joys, and so on. In the process of achieving goals, billboards play a crucial role in facilitating the delivery of information and messages. Even during political years, billboards are displayed along streets in major cities. The question arises, do the billboards we encounter around us have clear text, context, and context? Researchers are interested in addressing this issue. This study aims to describe the use of text, context, and context on billboards. The research method used is qualitative, utilizing reading and documentation methods. The research data sources are words and sentences accompanied by images on the billboards. The theory used is Dell Hymes' theory. The results of the analysis show that language is not only seen from the structure of the text, but also pay attention to the relationship between language, meaning, situation, and conditions of the text in social, cultural, political, and historical contexts. The three main aspects of text, context, and context are important in understanding how discourse is constructed and how hidden meanings can be revealed. Dell Hymes' theory, through the acronym SPEAKING, provides a guide for analyzing situational factors that influence discourse comprehension, such as setting, participants, purpose, sequence of actions, and linguistic norms. Data analysis shows that street billboards have clear elements of text, cotext, and context.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan hasil temuan pada mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi. Fenomena yang sering ditemukan pada mahasiswa yaitu mahasiswa masih memiliki kemampuan menyimak yang rendah. Hal ini terjadi pada mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia (PBI) UNIPA angkatan 2020. Rendahnya nilai kemampuan menyimak pada mahasiswa disebabkan minimnya bahan ajar mata kuliah menyimak. Untuk mengurangi atau meminimalisasi terjadinya kesalahan berbahasa, dosen menggunakan model Four-D Models atau Model 4D. Melalui model Four-D Models atau Model 4D, peneliti mengembangkan suatu produk yaitu modul “Menyimak”. Prosedur penelitian menggunakan langkah 4D, yaitu define, design, development, dan dissemination. Untuk menganalisis data, peneliti menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Berdasarkan analisis data, proses pembuatan modul menyimak sudah sesuai dengan prosedur pengembangan Thiagarajan yang dikenal dengan Four-D Models (Model 4D). Kualitas modul Menyimak ditinjau dari aspek kelayakan isi dan kelayakan bahasa memperoleh validasi kelayakan dengan kriteria baik, yaitu sebesar 94%. Hasil tes yang dilakukan menunjukkan mahasiswa mengalami perkembangan, dengan rerata nilai mahasiswa berada pada keterangan tuntas.
