Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of self-efficacy on career decision-making among vocational high school (SMK) students and identify the factors that influence it. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the PRISMA approach, which includes the identification, screening, evaluation, and interpretation of articles from the Taylor & Francis and Sage Journal databases. Of the 5,533 articles found, four relevant articles were analyzed. The results show that self-efficacy plays a significant role in building students' confidence in choosing a career that suits their interests and potential. Factors such as social support, academic experience, family environment, work experience, and active decision-making strategies contribute significantly to increasing self-efficacy. In addition, interventions such as career guidance, self-exploration training, job simulations, and career workshops have proven effective in helping vocational high school students face the challenges of an increasingly complex working world. This study concludes that strong self-efficacy can help vocational high school students achieve optimal career readiness. It is necessary to develop innovative and integrated career guidance programs, involving schools, parents, and industry, to support students in making informed career decisions. This study provides valuable insights for guidance and counseling teachers in improving more effective career guidance services.

Abstract

Academic engagement holds important and strategic potential to predict students’ performance progress in carrying out academic tasks and affect their achievement at school. Such an issue motivated the present research to analyze the effect of self-regulation and social support on students' academic engagement through academic buoyancy at the Junior High School (SMP Penggerak) in Surabaya City. A total of 365 samples were selected using a proportional stratified random sampling technique from a total population of 4,170. The self-regulation, social support, academic engagement, and academic buoyancy scales were used to collect their data. The findings suggest that self-regulation and social support could predict academic engagement and buoyancy. Academic engagement was fully mediated between self-regulation and academic buoyancy. Meanwhile, academic engagement was partially mediated by social support and academic buoyancy. Further implications of this research are reviewed in the discussion.

Abstract

Lyrics to a song serve not only as a complement but also constitute an important part to determine the theme and mission of a song. Lyrics can stir up emotions of happiness, sadness, and enthusiasm to those who listen to the song. Thus, translating the lyrics of a song should take into account these elements in addition to its aesthetic element. For that reason, this paper discusses the translation of the lyrics of the song 'Insya Allah' into Indonesian and English (TT/Target Text) from theArabic version (ST/Source Text) in order to acquire a level of "equivalence" for translating the ST into TT. The results show that the translation of the song's lyrics into Indonesian and English are able to convey the meaning and message of the lyrics from Arabic, although its rendition has not yet captured perfectly the aesthetic element.

The number of respondents was 571 from 18 PTKIN in Indonesia. The resilience scale used the Adult Personal Resilience Scale (APRS-20), and the gratitude scale used the Islamic Gratitude Scale (IGS-10). The construct validity and reliability tests used Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Resilience and gratitude levels were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while the effect test used simple linear regression analysis with the Jamovi application. Result  -  The results of the study show that student gratitude is in the very high category (67.78%), and resilience is in the high category (60.07%). Gratitude has a positive and significant effect on student resilience. The higher the level of student gratitude, the higher the level of resilience. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.295) indicates that gratitude accounts for 29.5% of the variance in resilience, while the remaining 70.5% is attributed to other factors beyond the scope of this study. Implication – reinforces previous theories and findings that gratitude is closely related to psychological well-being and resilience; universities can develop gratitude-based guidance and counseling programs to improve student resilience; the campus community can create a culture of gratitude that encourages students to be more optimistic, supportive of one another, and able to face difficulties with a positive attitude. Semakin tinggi tingkat rasa syukur mahasiswa, semakin tinggi pula tingkat ketahanan mereka.
