Abstract

This study aims to determine whether psychological capital and work-life balance influence job hopping among Generation Z employees in Banjarmasin City. This study uses a quantitative correlational approach. The research respondents numbered 155 people using a purposive sampling method. The questionnaire was distributed through social media, such as WhatsApp and Instagram. The research data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results of the F-test analysis showed that psychological capital and work-life balance simultaneously influence job hopping among Generation Z employees in Banjarmasin City (F = 161.945 and p = 0.001). At the same time, the t-test results showed that psychological capital positively influences job hopping, which contradicts the hypothesis proposed by the researcher (t = 14.684 p = 0.001). However, the results of the analysis t-test on work-life balance showed an adverse effect on job hopping (t = -2.289 and p = 0.023), which aligns with the hypothesis proposed by the researcher. The conclusion is that although psychological capital and work-life balance simultaneously influence job hopping among Generation Z employees in Banjarmasin City, the influence of psychological capital on job hopping is positive. In contrast, the influence of work-life balance on job hopping is negative. The results of this study are expected to add information and knowledge references in the industrial and organizational psychology sector, especially for organizations managing Generation Z employees.

Abstract

Work life balance adalah usaha seseorang guna menyeimbangkan dua peranan ataupun lebih yang dijalaninya, misalnya peran di kehidupan pribadi dan pekerjaan. Sementara itu, beban kerja adalah kesenjangan diantara kemampuan pekerja dan tuntutan pekerjaan yang wajib dipenuhi. Pegawai kontrak sering mengalami kesulitan dalam menyeimbangkan peran tersebut karena tingginya beban kerja. Penelitian ini bermaksud guna mengetahui pengaruh beban kerja pada work life balance di pegawai kontrak di PPRSAR Mulia Satria. Penelitian mempergunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional melalui teknik total sampling pada 55 pegawai kontrak di PPRSAR Mulia Satria. Pengumpulan data dilaksanakan dengan kuesioner berbentu Google Form dan dianalisis mempergunakan regresi linear sederhana melalui aplikasi JASP. Temuan penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa beban kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap work life balance, dengan nilai koefisien regresi 0,516, nilai t = 4,385, dan signifikansi p < 0,001. Nilai R² yakni 0,266 memperlihatkan bahwa 26,6% variasi work life balance dipengaruhi oleh beban kerja. Semakin tinggi beban kerja yang dirasakan, semakin meningkat pula tingkat work life balance yang dimiliki pegawai kontrak.

Abstract

The severe overcrowding at the Class IIA Karang Intan Narcotics Prison has resulted in a substantial increase in the workload of correctional officers. This study aims to analyze the effect of workload on job stress among officers using a quantitative correlational approach. A total of 46 officers were selected through purposive sampling. The instruments employed include the Health & Safety Executive-Work Related Stress Scale (HSE-WRSS) and the Role Overload Scale (ROS). Simple linear regression analysis using JASP revealed that workload significantly affects job stress (R² = 0.146; F(1,44) = 7.51; p < 0.05), contributing 14.6% to stress variation. These findings indicate a direct positive correlation between increasing workload and heightened job stress. Theoretically, this study supports the validity of the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) model of job stress within the context of correctional institutions in Indonesia. Practically, the findings provide a foundation for the development of more adaptive human resource management policies, including effective workload regulation and the provision of psychological support programs for correctional officers. ABSTRAK Tingginya tingkat overkapasitas di Lapas Narkotika Kelas IIA Karang Intan berdampak pada meningkatnya beban kerja petugas pengamanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh beban kerja terhadap stres kerja pada petugas, dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional. Sebanyak 46 petugas dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi Health & Safety Executive-Work Related Stress Scale (HSE-WRSS) dan Role Overload Scale (ROS). Hasil analisis regresi linear sederhana menggunakan JASP menunjukkan bahwa beban kerja berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap stres kerja (R² = 0,146; F(1,44) = 7,51; p < 0,05), dengan kontribusi sebesar 14,6%. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa peningkatan beban kerja berbanding lurus dengan peningkatan tingkat stres kerja. Secara teoretis, penelitian ini mendukung validitas model stres kerja Health & Safety Executive (HSE) dalam konteks lembaga pemasyarakatan di Indonesia. Secara praktis, hasil studi ini memberikan dasar bagi pengembangan kebijakan manajemen sumber daya manusia yang lebih adaptif, termasuk pengaturan beban kerja dan penyediaan dukungan psikologis bagi petugas lapas.

Abstract

Traffic accidents are the leading cause of death, particularly among Generation Z, with aggressive driving behavior being one of the main contributing factors. This behavior is often associated with low stress coping skills. This study aims to examine the relationship between stress coping and aggressive driving behavior. This study employs a quantitative correlational method, utilizing the Aggressive Driving Behavior Scale (ADBS) and Ways of Coping Stress instruments. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, comprising 100 Generation Z participants from a motorcycle community. Data analysis using Spearman’s rho correlation test showed a coefficient of -0.598 with a p-value < 0.001. This result indicates a strong negative relationship: the better an individual manages stress, the lower their aggressive behavior on the road. These findings emphasize the importance of stress management as a psychological intervention to reduce aggression and contribute to reducing traffic accident rates.  Keywords: Aggressive Driving Behavior, Coping Stress, Z Generation

Abstract

Generation Z has unique characteristics in the world of work, often showing high turnover rates. Job satisfaction is considered one of the main factor influence the decisions to stay or leave a job, while psychological capital can be a mediating variable in the relationship. This study aim to determine the effect of job satisfactions on turnover intention and whether psychological capital is a variable that acts as a mediator in the relationship between the two variable. The approach used in this study is a quantitativ correlational approach. Respondents in the study were 167 Generation Z employees at Hospital X. The data collected were analyzed using simple mediation analysis. The result of the analyz show that psychological capital acted as a mediator in the influence of job satisfactions on turnover intentions in Generation Z employees at Hospital X. Based on these results, Hospital X is expected to be able to organize training programs that focus on increasing job satisfaction, as an effort to strengthen employee psychological capital which will ultimately reduce turnover.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect brand minded lifestyle on consumptive behavior in students. The hypothesis proposed in this study is that there is an effect of brand minded lifestyle on consumptive behavior in students. The subjects in this study were students of the Muhammadiyah University of Banjarmasin with an age range of 18-25 years, using and buying branded goods. The scale used to collect research data is a brand-minded lifestyle scale and a consumptive behavior scale. The data analysis method used in this study is a simple linear regression test. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant effect (Sig. 0.000 <0.05). These results indicate that there is an influence of the Minded brand lifestyle on the consumptive behavior of college students

Abstract

Generation Z, known for their values of flexibility and well-being, are increasingly paying attention to the importance of work-life balance, which in turn can affect their turnover intention at work. One of the keys to retaining employees is finding a good balance between personal and work needs, especially among a generation that is very concerned about mental health. The purpose of this research is to learn more about the effect of work-life balance on the turnover intention of Generation Z in Banjarmasin City. This research was conducted with a correlational quantitative approach. This study involved 101 people, data collection was done through Google Forms with convenience sampling technique.  The results of simple linear regression analysis indicate that work life balance is able to explain 25.1% of the variation of turnover intention (R2 = 0.251, F (1,99) = 33.25 p < 0.05). This means that there is a significant influence of work-life balance on turnover intention in Generation Z in Banjarmasin City. It is hoped that these findings can be a source of reference for future researchers to explore additional variables that may play a role in turnover intention. Suggestions for organizations are expected to create a work environment and atmosphere that can improve work life balance. ABSTRAK Generasi Z, yang dikenal dengan nilai-nilai fleksibilitas dan kesejahteraan, semakin memperhatikan pentingnya work-life balance, yang pada gilirannya dapat mempengaruhi turnover intention mereka di tempat kerja. Salah satu kunci untuk mempertahankan karyawan adalah menemukan keseimbangan yang baik antara kebutuhan pribadi dan pekerjaan, terutama di kalangan generasi yang sangat memperhatikan kesehatan mental. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari lebih lanjut tentang pengaruh work life balance terhadap turnover intention Generasi Z di Kota Banjarmasin. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional. Penelitian ini melibatkan 101 orang, pengambilan data dilakukan melalui Google Forms dengan teknik convenience sampling. Hasil dari analisis regresi linear sederhana mengindikasikan bahwa work life balance mampu menjelaskan 25,1% variasi dari turnover intention (R2 = 0,251, F (1,99) = 33,25 p < 0,05). Artinya terdapat pengaruh work life balance yang signifikan terhadap turnover intention pada Generasi Z di Kota Banjarmasin. Diharapkan bahwa temuan ini dapat menjadi sumber referensi untuk peneliti selanjutnya untuk mengeksplorasi variabel tambahan yang mungkin berperan dalam turnover intention. Saran untuk organsasi diharapkan untuk menciptakan lingkungan dan suasana kerja yang mampu meningkatkan work life balance.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to be able to provide an overview of consumptive behavior in the community in Kotabaru District. This research method uses a quantitative approach with descriptive research methods. Sampling in this study is using incidental sampling technique. The subjects of this study were people who shopped for more than IDR 100,000 per day for 50 subjects. The results obtained from this study indicate that the majority of people in Kotabaru District, South Kalimantan, have consumptive behavior in the moderate category.

Abstract

The pre-retirement period is a phase full of uncertainty and often triggers anxiety in employees. This study aims to determine the effect of intolerance of uncertainty (IU) on anxiety in pre-retirement employees. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The subjects of the study were 60 ASN employees who will enter retirement in 2026. The instruments used were the Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale–12 (IUS–12) and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). Data analysis was carried out using simple linear regression using JASP. The results of the analysis showed that IU had a significant effect on anxiety (R² = 0.106; p = 0.011). The higher the level of IU, the higher the anxiety felt by individuals approaching retirement. The conclusion of this study is that IU is one of the psychological factors that can predict anxiety in the pre-retirement period. The implication of this study is the importance of psychological intervention to help individuals prepare for retirement more adaptively.

Abstract

Employee performance plays a crucial role in determining the success of an organization in achieving its goals and ensuring the continuity of work programs. Performance achievement is not only influenced by individual competence but also by workplace conditions that often create certain dynamics. One of the dynamics that frequently arises is work conflict, a situation where differences in interests, objectives, or perspectives occur among employees or between groups within the organization. This study aims to examine the effect of work conflict on employee performance at a government office in Banjarmasin City. The research employed a quantitative method with a correlational design, involving the entire population of 45 civil servants as respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression. The findings reveal that work conflict has a significant negative effect on employee performance. In other words, the higher the level of conflict, the lower the performance. Therefore, effective conflict management strategies, such as improved communication, fair task distribution, and a supportive work environment, are necessary to maintain productivity. ABSTRAK Kinerja pegawai berperan penting dalam menentukan keberhasilan suatu organisasi dalam mencapai tujuan dan menjaga kesinambungan program kerja. Pencapaian kinerja tidak hanya ditentukan oleh kemampuan individu, melainkan juga dipengaruhi oleh situasi lingkungan kerja yang sering menghadirkan dinamika tertentu. Salah satu dinamika yang kerap muncul ialah konflik kerja, yaitu kondisi ketika terdapat perbedaan kepentingan, tujuan, maupun pandangan di antara pegawai atau antar kelompok dalam organisasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh konflik kerja terhadap kinerja pegawai pada salah satu Dinas di Kota Banjarmasin. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional, melibatkan seluruh populasi sebanyak 45 pegawai negeri sipil sebagai responden. Data dikumpulkan melalui penyebaran kuesioner dan dianalisis dengan regresi linear sederhana. Hasil menunjukkan konflik kerja berpengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai. Artinya, semakin tinggi tingkat konflik, semakin rendah kinerja yang ditampilkan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penerapan strategi manajemen konflik, seperti komunikasi yang efektif, pembagian kerja seimbang, serta lingkungan kerja yang mendukung agar produktivitas tetap terjaga.
