Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of logotherapy techniques on the resilience of Muslim families, with family status and the number of dependents serving as demographic variables. The study sample consisted of 30 Muslim families in Banten province, Indonesia involving a total of 89 individuals. The sampling using the purposive sampling method consisted of 30 men (father or husband), 30 women (mother or wife), and 29 sons and/or daughters in terms of family status. The study employs a quantitative approach using inferential parametric statistics by using ANOVA. The results obtained indicate logotherapy counseling techniques, such as paradoxical intention, dereflection, and Socratic dialogue, have significantly increased the resilience of Muslim families in Banten. The Paradoxical Intention technique is significant for improving the legal basis dimension and the Dereflection technique is significant for improving the Psychosocial Resilience dimension. The combined technique of Paradoxical Intention and Socratic Dialogue is significant in improving the other three dimensions of Physical Resilience, Economic Resilience, and Family Social Resilience. More specifically, enhancing physical and economic resilience is best achieved using the paradoxical intention-Socratic dialogue, socio-family resilience with Socratic dialogue-dereflection, legality resilience with paradoxical intention, and socio-psychological resilience with dereflection. In the context of enhancing family resilience, husbands are best served using paradoxical intention-Socratic dialogue, wives by dereflection-Socratic dialogue, and children by paradoxical intention-Socratic dialogue. For families with only child dependents, the most suitable technique is paradoxical intention-Socratic dialogue, while for those with dependents that include children, parents, and/or other close family members, dereflection proves more appropriate.

Abstract

Divorce affects the economic resilience of families, especially for single mothers. Single mothers have to play a dual role as breadwinners and take care of their children without the help of their ex-husband. This research aims to analyze the effect of divorce on economic resilience and efforts to maintain the economic resilience of single mother families after divorce. The method used in this research is a systematic literature review based on big data of 600 research articles published between 2019-2024 via publish or perish Crossref, Google Scholar and OpenAlex with VOSviewer visualization. The articles used to analyze the problems in this research were 13 articles based on keyword criteria that represented the research problem. From the thirteen articles used in the systematic literature review, it was found that divorce had a negative effect on the financial condition of single mothers who had limited resources, did not have a permanent job or during their household ties depended on the results of their husband's work. Single mothers face many difficulties because they have to do everything alone at home, including meeting the daily needs of themselves and their children. Single mothers make various efforts to maintain the family's economic resilience through economic activities in the form of selling goods or services, working as company employees, laborers, household assistants and even becoming migrant workers

Abstract

Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL), especially in grammar skills, may have a favorable impact on the teaching and learning process as industrial technology 4.0 advances. Thus, this systematic review analyzed the trends and the outcomes of Mobile Assisted Language Learning MALL in teaching grammar from a diverse range of studies. This study was conducted by using Publish or Perish software to compile the data and VOSviewer to generate the data visualization and report in bibliometric analysis in the last 5 years (2018-2023), with exclusion and inclusion criteria considered. A total of 149 articles were excluded as criteria, and 15 selected articles were systematically analyzed. The analysis highlighted the outcomes of Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL), such as interactive learning experiences. The finding implied that the students' grammar skills were positively impacted due to the use of mobile applications such as Duolingo, Anki, Telegram, Throwback Time (TBT), and other tools. Besides, it also influenced students' interest in the teaching-learning process, which tended to increase students' engagement, since it can save time, energy, and money. However, there was a need to develop more adjustments and useful features to deal with some challenges in teaching and learning grammar using MALL. It is therefore suggested that future research focus on the challenge and approach to teaching grammar using MALL or mobile learning.

Abstract

Although embezzlement of inheritance property often occurs in Indonesia, Islamic law does not regulate sanctions for embezzlement of inheritance rights, including the Compilation of Islamic Law as the basis for Islamic inheritance law. This study examines the sanctions for embezzlement of inheritance property in Islamic law and how they are applied in Indonesia; it adopts the normative juridical method with statutory, conceptual, and case approaches. The study findings show that in classical fiqh, there are no sanctions for embezzlement of inherited property. However, based on qiyas and mashlahat mursalah, sanctions against embezzlement of inheritance property in Islamic law are in the form of moral sanctions (gibah) and takzir, whose levels are left to the imam and mujtahid. In Indonesia, a case of embezzlement of inheritance property is included in a criminal case. The sanction for this is imprisonment for a maximum of 4 years or a maximum fine of 900 rupiah as laid down in Article 372 of the Criminal Code. The author argues that the criminal sanction based on qiyas is a takzir sanction set by the government. This study offers an integrative normative framework between classical inheritance fiqh and contemporary positive law and provides a clear legal understanding for the protection of inheritance rights.

Abstract

In today's digital era, YouTube is one of the most widely used platforms in teaching English as a foreign language (English Language Teaching / ELT) because it provides authentic and interactive learning content. The increased integration of digital media in the classroom has prompted various studies to explore the effectiveness of YouTube in supporting the language learning process. This study aims to analyze the strategies applied by teachers when using YouTube as an ELT learning medium, the factors that affect its effectiveness, as well as the language skills that are most supported by this platform. The method used is a systematic literature review using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) approach. A total of 30 empirical articles were selected from scientific databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, Mendeley, and Google Scholar based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results show that YouTube significantly improves students' speaking and listening skills through exposure to authentic and engaging English-language content. However, internal factors such as student motivation and teacher engagement, as well as external factors such as internet access and material suitability, still affect the overall effectiveness of YouTube use. This study concludes that YouTube is a valuable medium in ELT learning if accompanied by the right strategy and effective mentoring. These findings provide practical implications for educators and researchers to optimize the use of digital media in improving students' language competence.
