Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to classify the types of errors made by students of class XI SMA Islam Athirah 2 Makassar in the use of auxiliary words 两 [liǎŋ] and 二 [ɚ] in Mandarin. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. Data were collected using a test using the auxiliary words 两 [liǎŋ] and 二 [ɚ]. The analytical method used is the error analysis proposed by Ellis in Tarigan. The population of this study were all students of class XI SMA Islam Athirah 2 Makassar which consisted of 9 students as well as the research sample using the total sample technique. This research data comes from the analysis of the use of the auxiliary words 两 [liǎŋ] and 二 [ɚ]. The results of data analysis show that there are 67 errors in the use of auxiliary words 两 [liǎŋ] and 二 [ɚ]. There were 33 errors in the use of auxiliary words 两 [liǎŋ] or 49.25% which were in the poor category and 34 errors in the use of auxiliary words 二 [ɚ] were 34 total errors or 50.75% which were in the under category error level.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memeroleh data dan informasi tentang keefektifan Concept Learning dalam pembelajaran kosakata (Wortschatz) bahasa Jerman Mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jerman Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Asing Fakultas Bahasa dan Sastra Universitas Negeri Makassar. Data dan informasi tersebut penting untuk menjadi bahan pertimbangan dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran bahasa Jerman khususnya dalam usaha peningkatan kosakata (Wortschatz) bahasa Jerman. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa tahun akademik 2021/2022 Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jerman, Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Asing, Fakultas Bahasa dan Sastra, Universitas Negeri Makassar dengan jumlah keseluruhan kelas sebanyak 2 kelas dan jumlah mahasiswa sebanyak 46 orang. Sampel dalam penelitian ini diambil dua kelas yang digunakan sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara random sampling. Untuk menentukan kelas yang akan dijadikan sampel dalam penelitian, peneliti melakukan pengundian. Dari keseluruhan populasi yang ada, diambil 2 kelas secara acak untuk dijadikan sampel. Dari hasil pemilihan secara acak terpilih kelas A terdiri atas 23 mahasiswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas B terdiri atas 23 mahasiswa sebagai kelas kontrol.Hasil uji-t menunjukkan bahwa thitung lebih besar dari ttabel (1,473 > ttabel 0,685) dengan taraf signifikan 0,05. Berdasarkan kriteria pengujian hipotesis bahwa terima H1 jika thitung lebih besar dari ttabel dan terima H0  jika thitung lebih kecil dari ttabel..  H0 dalam penelitian ini yang berbunyi penggunaan  pembelajaran Concept Learning tidak efektif terhadap hasil belajar bahasa asing (Jerman) mahasiswa program studi pendidikan bahasa Jerman ditolak, karena thitung 1,473 > ttabel 0,685, sehingga H1 dalam penelitian ini yang berbunyi penggunaan  pembelajaran Concept Learning efektif terhadap hasil belajar bahasa asing (Jerman) mahasiswa program studi pendidikan bahasa Jerman  diterima. Konsekuensi dari penolakan  H0, maka H1 dalam penelitian ini yang berbunyi penggunaan  pembelajaran Concept Learning efektif terhadap hasil belajar kosakata bahasa Jerman (Wortschatz) mahasiswa program studi pendidikan bahasa Jerman diterima, karena thitung 1,473 > ttabel 0,685. Dengan diterimanya H1 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan  pembelajaran Concept Learning efektif terhadap hasil belajar bahasa asing (Jerman) mahasiswa program studi pendidikan bahasa Jerman. Dengan diterimanya H1 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan  pembelajaran Concept Learning efektif terhadap penguasaan kosakata bahasa Jerman (Wortshatz) mahasiswa program studi pendidikan bahasa Jerman. Kata Kunci: Concept Learning, Wortschatz, Bahasa Jerman

Abstract

This research is to (1) determine how using TED Talks videos affects students' public speaking performances and (2) ascertain how students view TED Talks videos in the context of English classes, where they are utilized as a teaching tool for public speaking. This study employed a quantitative, quasi-experimental research strategy. First-year MA DDI Lilbanat Parepare students made up the study's population. A basic random selection group of 16 students for the experimental group and 17 students for the control group was used in the study. While the control group employed traditional teaching methods (textbook-centered method), the experimental group received therapy via YouTube TED Talk videos. Pre- and post-tests were used in this study to gather data, and a questionnaire was used to find out how students felt about the YouTube TED Talk video. The analysis of the gathered data was done with SPSS version 26. The average speaking score for the experimental group was 45 on the first exam and 53 on the second, according to the data analysis results. In contrast, the control group's average speaking score on the first and final exams was 40 and 41, respectively. In the post-test fort test, the t-value (8.345) is greater than its t-table value (2.219), and the p-values for the experimental and control groups were both less than α (0.000 < 0.05) and control groups (0.041 < 0.05). This means the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis accepted. This indicates that YouTube TED Talks videos affect students speaking performance. In addition, the perception of the students, obtained through the questionnaire showed that they had a positive view of the YouTube TED Talk Video.

Abstract

Studi PKM ini bertujuan untuk memfasilitasi dan membekali peserta PKM dengan materi-materi menulis teks bacaan bahasa Inggris, yaitu teks deskfriptif, teks naratif, dan teks pengumuman, dan menghasilkan tulisan teks bahasa Inggris yang dapat dijadikan sebagai materi pembelajaran bagi peserta didik. Ada lima metode yang dilakukan adalah analisis topik tulisan, penyajian contoh-contoh teks dan strukturnya, penentuan topik tulisan dan isiannya, penulisan, dan penyajian hasil tulisan teks. Berdasarkan hasil pelatihan PKM, ditemukan bahwa peserta dapat dengan mudah menuliskan ide-ide mereka dalam tulisan karena hasil pertimbangan pilihan topik sendiri, pengetahuan mengenai situasi dan kondisi terutama mengenai kemampuan peserta didik mereka, dan penggunaan bahasa dalam tulisan teks sesuai maksud yang sebenarnya dari penulis sebagai peserta PKM. Namun, terdapat kendala khususnya dalam pemahaman penggunaan tata bahasa Inggris di dalam menuliskan teks bacaan berbahasa Inggris. Sehingga, dirasa perlu untuk melakukan kegiatan monitor dan pendampingan untuk memeriksa penggunaan tata bahasa Inggris dengan baik dan benar.  Abstract. This PKM study aims to facilitate and equip PKM participants with materials for writing English reading texts, namely descriptive texts, narrative texts, and announcement texts, and produce written English texts that can be used as learning materials for students. There are five methods used, namely analyzing written topics, presenting examples of text and their structure, determining writing topics and content, writing, and presenting the results of written text. Based on the results of PKM training, it was found that participants could easily write down their ideas in writing due to consideration of their own topic choices, knowledge of situations and conditions, especially regarding the abilities of their students, and the use of language in written texts according to the true intentions of the writer as PKM participants. However, there is an obstacle, especially in understanding the use of English grammar in writing English reading texts. So, it is deemed necessary to carry out monitoring and mentoring activities to check the use of English grammar properly and correctly

Abstract

This study aims to redesign the User Interface (UI) of the SuperConsign application using the Human-Centered Design method as a solution to enhance user comfort and satisfaction. The study involved 20 participants from the general public who have experience purchasing second-hand items and using second-hand sales applications to demonstrate the effectiveness of the Human-Centered Design method in creating a better user experience and improving the potential of the SuperConsign application in the market. The method comprises three main stages: inspiration, ideation, and implementation. Through observation and analysis of issues with the SuperConsign application, the study resulted in a better and more user-friendly UI redesign. The result of the study revealed a significant increase in usability scores from 38 to 76.5 based on the System Usability Scale (SUS). It can be concluded that SuperConsign is better and more user friendly after UI redesigning.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is a qualitative-quantitative research that aims to find out the problems and factors that influence the problems of mastering Chinese vocabulary for class VII students at SMP Frater Makassar. The population in this study were 179 students of class VII SMP Frater Makassar. The sampling technique was carried out using random sampling, so the sample in this study were students of class VII F, totaling 30 students. The research instruments were in the form of interviews, closed questionnaires and open questionnaires. Data were analyzed using percentage techniques. The results showed that the problems in students' mastery of Mandarin vocabulary were that students were novice students who did not know Hanzi and even had difficulty pronouncing it, students acted normally when they received assignments and felt embarrassed to appear in front of the class to memorize Chinese vocabulary, the time allocation for learning Mandarin still not enough. These problems are influenced by two factors, namely internal factors (student discipline), lack of interest in learning and students' self-confidence in learning Mandarin and external factors (teachers, facilities and infrastructure, and family), namely: teachers sometimes use creative learning media in introducing new vocabulary to students; insufficient number of Chinese language textbooks; parents rarely provide motivation to learn Mandarin. As for other external factors, according to the interview data obtained, the school does not yet have a language laboratory.Keywords: Problems, Vocabular

Abstract

This study aims to obtain data about the probing prompting learning model in vocabulary mastery of the students of the Foreign Language Education Study Program, Department of Foreign Language Education, in a public university. This research is classroom action research conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this study were 30 students of the 2019/2020 Odd Semester of Foreign Language Education Study Program. The research data consists of two types, namely, qualitative data and quantitative data. Qualitative data were obtained through observation, while quantitative data were obtained through the results of the first cycle and second cycle vocabulary mastery tests. The data were analyzed using percentage techniques. The results showed that the vocabulary mastery with the percentage of values obtained by the German Language Education Study Program students in the first cycle reached 67.65%, and the second cycle reached 84.52%. These results indicate that the application of the probing-prompting learning model increases the mastery of German vocabulary for students of the German Language Education Study Program, Department of Foreign Language Education of a public university.

Abstract

Abstrak. Masalah utama dalam penelitian ini adalah makna merpati dalam novel Die Taube. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan struktural dengan menganalisis struktur cerita dalam novel Die Taube antara lain alur penyajian, tokoh serta latar ruang dan waktu. Digunakan juga pendekatan psikoanalisis Sigmund Freud untuk mengungkapkan makna merpati dalam novel Novel Die Taube. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa merpati dalam novel Die Taube memunculkan kembali ingatan kelam masa lalu tokoh Jonathan Noel yang direpresi dan membuat tokoh Jonathan yang selama tiga puluh tahun hidup seperti robot, mengalami katarsis, setelah itu dia bisa berdamai dengan kehidupan dirinya sendiri, dan orang-orang di sekitarnya. Keywords: Makna, struktural, psikoanalisis

Abstract

ABSTRAKAplikasi HSK 1 adalah platform pembelajaran yang dirancang khusus untuk membantu pemuladalam mempelajari bahasa Mandarin sesuai dengan standar Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi(HSK). Aplikasi HSK 1 dirancang untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bahasa Mandarin di kalanganpemula dengan pendekatan yang interaktif dan mudah diakses. Aplikasi ini fokus pada pengajarankosakata dasar seperti "你好" (nǐ hǎo - halo), “谢谢” (xièxiè - terima kasih), dan "请" (qǐng - tolong).Selain itu, aplikasi ini mengajarkan struktur kalimat sederhana seperti "我喜欢 学习汉语" (wǒxǐhuān xuéxí hànyŭ - Saya suka belajar bahasa Mandarin) dan "你会说 中文吗?" (nǐ huì shuōzhōngwén ma? - Apakah Anda bisa berbicara bahasa Mandarin?). Melalui berbagai fitur sepertilatihan kosakata, kuis interaktif, dan modul pembelajaran yang terstruktur, aplikasi ini bertujuanuntuk memfasilitasi pemahaman dan penggunaan bahasa Mandarin secara efektif. Pengguna dapatberlatih membaca, mendengarkan, dan berbicara dengan umpan balik langsung yang membantudalam memperbaiki kesalahan dan mengukur kemajuan mereka. Aplikasi ini juga dirancang untukmeningkatkan motivasi belajar dengan cara yang menyenangkan dan engaging, sehingga pelajardapat tetap termotivasi dan terlibat dalam proses belajar. Dengan menyediakan materi yang relevandan metode pembelajaran yang fleksibel, aplikasi HSK 1 diharapkan dapat mempermudah pemuladalam memperoleh keterampilan bahasa Mandarin dasar dan membangun dasar yang kuat untukpembelajaran lanjutan.Kata Kunci: HSK 1,Bahasa Mandarin,Aplikasi Pembelajaran.

Abstract

Pelatihan implementasi strategi KWL Chart bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca teks bahasa Inggris di bidang komputer. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan di STIMIK Kharisma Makassar deangn pserta pelatihan berjumlah 25 mahasiswa. Tedapat empat sesi pelathan. Pada sesi pertama, mahasiswa dilatih memilih bacaan yang relevan dengan bidangnya dari sumber ilmiah. Sesi kedua difokuskan pada pengenalan konsep KWL Chart yang interaktif. Sesi ketiga, mahasiswa mempresentasikan KWL Chart dan diikuti sesi diskusi. Sesi terakhir berupa wawancara yang mengevaluasi efektivitas KWL Chart dalam aspek kognitif, motivasional, implementasi, dan kemajuan. Hasil pelatihan berdasarkan wawancara menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa merasa lebih termotivasi, mandiri, dan mampu menghubungkan pengetahuan awal dengan teks yang dibaca, yang secara signifikan meningkatkan kemampuan membaca mereka. Kata Kunci: KWL Chart, Membaca Pemahaman, Teks Bahasa Inggris Komputer Abstract: The Implementation Training of the KWL Chart Strategy Aimed at Enhancing English Text Reading Comprehension in Computer Sciences. This academic intervention was conducted at STIMIK Kharisma Makassar, involving a cohort of 25 undergraduate students. The training program was structured across four comprehensive sessions designed to systematically improve students' academic reading capabilities. In the initial session, participants were systematically guided in selecting scholarly sources and texts most pertinent to their disciplinary domain. The second session was dedicated to an interactive and pedagogically robust introduction to the KWL (Know, Want to Know, Learned) Chart methodology, emphasizing its strategic cognitive scaffolding potential. During the third session, students were required to present their individually constructed KWL Charts, followed by a rigorous scholarly discourse and peer-to-peer analytical discussion. The concluding session comprised a structured interview protocol meticulously evaluating the KWL Chart's effectiveness across multiple dimensions: cognitive engagement, motivational impact, implementation efficacy, and incremental learning progression. Qualitative analysis derived from post-intervention interviews revealed statistical significant attitudinal and performative transformations. Participants reported heightened intrinsic motivation, increased academic autonomy, and an enhanced capacity to systematically integrate prior knowledge with textual content, which collectively contributed to substantive improvements in their English reading comprehension capabilities within the computer sciences discipline.
